SC GOP Voters Overwhelmingly Agree With Trump's Proposal to Ban Muslims

*LIVE South Carolina Election Results*

Temporarily banning Muslims from entering the United States has been one of Donald Trump’s most controversial proposals on the campaign trail. It was bashed by Democrats and Republicans alike, but guess what? Seventy-five percent of Republican voters in South Carolina agree with the real estate mogul, according to a CBS News exit poll.

Though 23 percent opposed his plan, clearly there is a real concern among voters about potential terrorists coming into the United States.

“Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life,” Trump said in a statement on the issue back in December.

An exit poll from New Hampshire showed a majority of Republican voters —roughly two-thirds—also agreed with Trump’s proposed ban.

It's not surprising, then, that GOP voters in the Palmetto State ranked terrorism as their No. 1 concern, followed by jobs, the economy, and government spending.
