Trump Sticks By His Man: Judge Kavanaugh Becomes a Justice

On July 10, President Donald Trump announced Judge Brett Kavanaugh as his nominee to fill a seat left on the Supreme Court by retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy.

From the beginning, the left engaged in a battle of epic proportions, which played out in the worst fashion over the past two weeks.

Tonight in a 50-48 Senate vote, Judge Kavanaugh became Justice Kavanaugh.

“The White House applauds the Senate for confirming President Trump’s nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Later today, the President will sign his commission of appointment and he will be officially sworn in," White House Spokesman Raj Shah released in a statement.

Shortly before the vote, President Trump reiterated his unwavering support for Kavanaugh.

“We’re really looking forward to the vote. He will be a great justice of the Supreme Court. People have thought that for 10 years. They thought he’s just an extra ordinary person, a great talent, and I think he’s going to make us all very proud. I also feel very strongly that, in the end, maybe the process, it was really unattractive, but the extra week was something that I think was really good. I thought it was really good. I think a lot of, a lot of very positive things happened in the last week," President Trump said Saturday from the White House. "It didn't look that way, but in the end that's what happened. It was uncorroborated. It was so many different things. He’s going in looking very good."
