UPDATE: All hostages freed; Al Qaeda Takes Credit For Hotel Siege in Mali

In what appears to be an effort to stay relevant as ISIS takes over international news headlines, an Al Qaeda affiliate has taken credit for the siege on a hotel in Mali today, where at least 100 people are still being held hostage.

Six Americans were released from the hotel earlier today. According to the State Department, it is unclear if other Americans are still being held at this time.

UPDATE: All hostages have reportedly been freed.
