Mother of Officer Killed in Benghazi: I Want Someone to Say Sorry, That They Screwed Up

Earlier this week the White House and Department of Justice announced the arrest of Ahmed Abu Khatallah, one of the men involved int he 9/11 attack on our consulate in Benghazi. Khatallah was brought to the United States, not GITMO, for questioning.

But a single arrest isn't going to cut it for Pat Smith, the mother of information officer Sean Smith, who was killed the night of the attacks. She wants the truth about what happened that night and she wants former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to give it to her.

"I want to know why she did not give security when it was called upon so many times, at least eight that I know of that they needed more security. She refused to do it. She's blaming everybody else even though it was her territory, it was her department and she's the one that has the answers," Smith said an interview with Greta Van Susteren last night. "They say they don't ever leave anyone behind but they do. They left him behind. He got the telephone call that said, 'Sorry about that, you're on your own there's no help coming. Tell me how that's leaving nobody behind."

"I would like to have someone stand up and say 'It's my fault, I did it, I'm sorry I did the wrong thing and I screwed up and I'm sorry,'" Smith added.

The Benghazi select committee, headed by Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy, is expected to start holding hearings this fall.
