Kentucky Democrat Alison Grimes Not as Gun Friendly as She'd Like People to Believe

Kentucky Democrat Alison Grimes is hoping to beat out Republican Senator Mitch McConnell next year for a place in the U.S. Senate. Three weeks ago, Grimes posted a photo of herself on Twitter shooting (without eye and ear protection, two big gun safety don'ts ) and invited McConnell to come along.

But Grimes isn't as Second Amendment friendly as she'd like voters to think and an endorsement from Michelle Obama that she recently picked in New York City, proves it.

During a speech at a fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee at the Sheraton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan last week, Mrs. Obama made it clear President Obama needs Grimes in the Senate to push his far left agenda, which includes more gun control.

"And let's not forget about that common-sense gun legislation, that so many of us feel so strongly about. Sadly as you know, that bill failed. Anyone know by how many votes? It failed by just six votes in the Senate. Six. So make no mistake about it: the midterm elections, they matter. They matter," Obama said. "So it is critical that we elect Michelle Nunn, Alison Grimes, Natalie Tennant. It is critical that we get them to the Senate. And it is just as critical that we elect -- reelect Senators Mary Kay Hagan, Mary Landrieu, Jeanne Shaheen -- it is critical, because we all know that it’s not enough to elect Barack Obama President if we don’t give him a Congress that will help him keep moving this country forward."

SECOND AMENDMENT

It seems Grimes likes to present herself as a moderate, Second Amendment supporter to voters while in Kentucky, but sings a different tune when fundraising in fancy, far away places like New York City.
