Muslim Flight Attendant Suspended for Not Selling Alcohol to Customers is Now Suing Company

Charee Stanley, a recent convert to the religion of Islam, is upset that she was suspended from her job as a flight attendant with ExpressJet in 2015.  She is now accusing the airline of wrongly suspending her because she refused to serve alcohol to passengers.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations' in Michigan announced Tuesday it filed a lawsuit last week on behalf of Stanley in federal court.  Stanley chief complaint is that ExpressJet did not provide reasonable religious accommodations and she is seeking pay accumulating from her suspension last summer.

Stanley once said, "I should not have to choose between earning a living and practicing my religion."

Once again, the influence of Islam in American laws and customs causes national scandal and debate.
