#NeverTrump Takes Another Crucial Blow, Romney Suspends Independent Campaign Efforts

Mitt Romney, the failed candidate in the 2012 presidential race against Barack Obama, has officially decided not to launch a third-party presidential campaign of his own and has stopped trying to recruit somebody else to do the job.

Apparently, Romney went to several career politicians such as John Kasich and Sen. Ben Sasse and did nothing short of beg them to start a #NeverTrump independent campaign.  But prospects such as Sasse have said no, and Romney is now retiring his exhausting efforts, according to CNN.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said Sunday that a third-party bid would be a "suicide mission."

Romney still hopes a candidate will emerge, but an adviser to the #NeverTrump movement confirmed Tuesday night that the efforts are looking grim.
