A few gaffes and some uncertain poll numbers has the NRSC taking out a few ads on Joe Miller's behalf; right now, Miller is at 35 percent, with Murkowski at 34 percent and McAdams at 27 percent according to a recent Rasmussen poll. That's within the margin of error with two long weeks to go before Election Day.
Miller's critics have latched on to his reference to East Germany during an explanation of border security, an incident where his security guards arrested a journalist who had overstepped his bounds, and most recently, Miller's employment records.
Yesterday, Miller wrote an editorial in The Tundra (a name of a newspaper which could only be published in Alaska):
Too much of this election has focused on issues that have little to do with the direction of this state and our country. Minor issues in a candidate's personal life have little to nothing to do with creating jobs, cutting out-of-control government spending and balancing the budget.
Meanwhile, Murkowski's anti-Washington, anti-establishment theme is working better than Millers. Apparently, just because you're a spoilsport doesn't mean you can't be an outsider.
