have been the ones to say it best so far: it doesn't matter whether or not he was a nonideological nut or if he was a terrorist with convictions (though the evidence would strongly point to the latter) -- he shouldn't have been passed over by the FBI.
The obtuseness in a post-9/11 world is mind-boggling.

Are you suggesting that the FBI gave Obama the warnings? Prove it. And really, if they were "months" in the know, I'm sure you can make the same case with Bush.
If there is a failing here it is with the Pentagon and the FBI. There is no evidence that the FBI or the counterterrorism force was trying to alert the President - which is precisely what we do know occurred in the months before 9/11, on Bush's watch.
Please stop trying to brush the unforgivable mistakes of the Bush administration off onto our new President. It doesn't work that way.

Well this horrendous tragedy happened months after the FBI knew about the e-mails sent by Hasan. Oh and your boy Obama has been President for 10 months now, yes your guy was in charge when Hasan sent the e-mails that the FBI knew about. You quickly blame Bush for 9/11 as he was president at the time well step up to the plate and now blame your messiah. It was during his administration that Hasan was being investigated and nothing was done.

In the first place.
Here's the back story:
The summer of 2001 was filled with chatter about an attack on US soil, and yet our fearless leader at the time took a month-long vacation and brushed off the daily briefings that warned of an imminent attack. The day before 9/11, Cheney FINALLY chooses to meet with his counter-terrorism team to begin addressing the subject, a full 9 months after taking office and AFTER months of dire warnings.
So the "obtuseness" of 9/11 even happening far out weighs any ponderings of post-9/11 hindsight. Eight years later and we have a burgeoning terror network thanks to the ham-handed policies of the Bush administration and you guys want to wring your hands over Obama's...

It is unfortunate that Vlad does not get his facts straight. The FBI first noticed Hasan in December 2008. Yes at the end of the Bush term. His Internet postings and e-mails had been monitored over the past 6 months. Yes Obama was the President during that time.
I do not say that this is Obama's fault but it sure as heck cannot be pushed onto Bush as the lefty would like. Obama and his views will make situations like this harder and harder to prevent.

Hasan came to the attention of the FBI in December of 2008. Over the last 6 months they were aware of his Internet postings and e-mails. Unfortunately, Vlad as usual tries to spin the facts.
Yes over the past 10 months that Obama was president this man was being investigated, Of course it is all Bush's fault.

"Isn't it interesting that the "ball" is usually dropped when a demoRAT occupies the WH!"
The FBI identified Hasan more than a year ago, when George Bush was president.
Me, I think it's stupid to blame the president for every bad thing or mistake that happens, but if you want to go down that path, keep your facts straight.

Unfortunately, PC is alive and well in the military. Sadly we now see what the ramifications of those policies. I am afraid that even this horrendous act will not change that. Someone in the military will take the weight for this and be admonished for not recognizing that poor Hasan had mental problems. A few months from now any reference to this man will not include the mention of his Muslim beliefs but will only reference the affects of the Bush war on the soldiers. Sadly I doubt anything will change or be learned from this slaughter of American soldiers in our own country.

over" because of the political correctness that infests our society and, apparently, the military as well. With the kowtowing from Captain Obumbles down to the legal precedents (the flying imans), the intelligence community follows the "new" dictates D. A. D. T. Isn't it interesting that the "ball" is usually dropped when a demoRAT occupies the WH! It comes out now that Hasan was in communication with Anwar al-Awlaki, that "noted" authority on PTSD! Will heads roll? I doubt it! After all Jamie Gorelick is part of this admin.

a diversity with a group determined to either kill you or enslave you?
if there is such a thing as mainstream islam, why is it not repudiating daily and continuously all of the violence being perpetrated by the co-travelers under the name of allah and mohammed?
islamic religious leaders preach it is ok to lie to advance islam.
does that encourage you people out there to trust muslims?
if islam were a true religion, its adherents would never stop condemning those who, through their violent acts, demean it.
the very fact that a vast, vast majority of muslims are unwilling to criticize the satanic teachings of islam reveals islams' true nature.
by satanic teachings i mean teachings like: it is...

until our leaders understand the true nature of islam, the world is doomed to suffer at islam's hands.
here is reality.
who think islam is NOT the creation of satan, who think mohammed was not satan's stooge, who think islam is NOT evil are either ignorant, stupid or muslims.
almost all group violence in the world originates from islam.
until we are willing to acknowledge the truth about islam, we are dooming our fellow men to be its victims.
islam must be acknowledged for what it is, a satanic cult of immense proportions with more than a billion adherents, most of whom are ignorant of its true nature.
if it were not satanic, why would its most prominent religious leaders advocate...
