Schumer: The End of Traditional Arguments and Foreign Policy

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show Tuesday night:
"The world has changed. The old Reagan philosophy that served them well politically from 1980 to about 2004, 2006 is over. But the hard right, which still believes when the federal government moves chop off its hands, still believes, you know, traditional values kind of arguments and strong foreign policy, all that is over."

This is a man who voted against the partial-birth abortion ban and said Americans did not care about Congressional pork. Now, he thinks that traditional values are "over" because its after 2006, and that the U.S. should embrace a weak foreign policy. I'm cringing at the thought of what that entails.
