Poll: Hillary Clinton Would Beat Chris Christie in 2016

Quinnipiac recently did a poll on favorability of the top names for 2016. And in a head to head race, Hillary Clinton squeaks out a win over Governor Chris Christie for the presidency. According to the poll results:

The former secretary of State topped the New Jersey governor 46 percent to 40 percent in the poll.

Both potential candidates registered strong favorability ratings. Clinton has a 55 percent favorability rating, while 38 percent of voters had an unfavorable view.

Christie had 45 percent favorable rating and 18 percent unfavorable.

With these numbers we have 2 sure things to gather. Hillary is clearly the front runner for the Democrats, and she is someone that is going to be a tough opponent. The other main point here is that Chris Christie has an extremely favorable rating, but a lot of undecided voters. But this is a good thing, if Christie can win over these undecided people on how much they favor him, he could have a great chance of actually taking on Hillary and coming out victorious.

Out of this same poll, other candidates were tested. And against Joe Biden, Chris Christie is the winner 46 to 35 percent. But in a race between Clinton and Rand Paul, Clinton is the victor 50 to 38 percent.

Now obviously none of these potential candidates have announced a 2016 bid, but it’s always good to try and get a feel for where we could be in 3 years. What we really need to focus on is not only who is going to best represent the Republican Party and our ideals, but also someone who can win. Hillary is going to be a tough opponent and we need someone who can show the American people that the Republican Party is the right way to vote in 2016.
