Congress to Seek Justice Against the UN

In his scathing response to the Obama administration's UN decision against Israel, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) reminded the White House that Congress has constitutional authority over taxpayer funding. With that power, he said Congress will not stand by and let the executive branch continue its assault against their Middle East ally.

“The 115th Congress must stop the current administration’s vicious attack on our great ally Israel," the senator said.

The Free Beacon spoke with other congressional sources who said they plan to cut off funding from the UN, boot Palestinian diplomats from the U.S., and cut off ties with foreign nations that voted for the anti-Israel UN resolution.

“A new administration will arrive on January 20th, but in the intervening weeks Congress has an important role mitigating the damage President Obama can do in his final hours,” the source said. “Why on earth would we throw good taxpayer dollars after bad in support of the UN, which has proven itself again and again utterly unable to encourage any positive progress? Just take Syria — if they were doing anything over the last five years, it should have been working out a fair and equitable adjudication of the Syrian war.”

Congressmen like Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) all but confirmed the plot to strip the UN of U.S. funding on Twitter.

The backlash against the Obama administration has been a bipartisan affair. On Tuesday, Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said the White House was guilty of emboldening Israel's enemies.

Cruz and other congressmen hinted that the administration is not finished with its anti-Israel agenda.
