Trump Suggests Something Wasn’t Quite Right With the Khans’ DNC Speech

Many pundits agreed that the speech made by the Khans at the Democratic National Convention Thursday was the most powerful moment of the past two weeks. In his remarks, Khizr Khan, a Muslim man whose son Humayun died defending our country in the U.S. Army, challenged Donald Trump on his proposed plan to enforce a temporary ban on Muslims.

"Have you ever been to Arlington Cemetery?" Khan asked Trump. "Go look at the graves of brave patriots who died defending the United States of America. You will see all faiths, genders and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing and no one."

Khan also asked Trump if he’s ever read the Constitution, at which point he reached into his pocket, held up his own copy and told the GOP nominee he could borrow if it if he wanted. The crowd erupted.

On ABC Saturday morning, Trump reacted to the Khans in an interview with George Stephanopoulos – and once again, he’s stirred controversy.

"If you look at his wife, she was standing there," he said, on national television. "She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say. You tell me."

Trump added that he has made sacrifices, noting he's “created thousands of jobs” and “built great structures.”

“I think I've done a lot,” he said.
