British Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has not been shy about tweeting her thoughts about the 2016 election. Previously, she said that Voldemort, the primary antagonist of the book series, was "nowhere near as bad" as GOP candidate Donald Trump, and yesterday, she compared Trump spokesperson Katrina Pierson to a Death Eater--one of Voldemort's followers.
Death Eaters walk among us. https://t.co/tqKq1anHpf

The tweet that drew Rowling's ire was this, from 2012:
Perfect Obama's dad born in Africa, Mitt Romney's dad born in Mexico. Any pure breeds left? #CNNDebate

(Ironically, Trump's mother was born in Scotland.)
Pierson later clarified on Monday that the initial tweet was meant to be taken as sarcasm.
For people who don't understand sarcasm. There's no such thing as pure https://t.co/A409axrjsn
