Australia Straightens Up and Flies Right

These days, good news is welcome wherever it is to be found.  Saturday, Australians repudiated the Labor Party six years after it swept to power, and elevated Tony Abbott -- a social and economic conservative -- to be their 28th Prime Minister.

The best profile I have read of Abbott is right here.  He is a welcome addition to the ranks of world leaders.

In yet another hopeful sign for US Republicans, note that Patrick Ruffini's firm Engageengineered the design and construction of Abbott's web site.   The Abbott social media team outperformed their opponents.

Let's hope the GOP learns from them and does the same come 2014 and 2016.
