TRUE Feminists Speak Up for Palin
In stark contrast to the "feminists of convenience" in the press and elsewhere who are busy attacking Sarah Palin, WomenCount -- a group that hosted Hillary Clinton last week at the Democratic National Convention -- has

released a statement attacking the sexism so evident in press coverage of Sarah Palin.  It says in part:

Regardless of the candidates' ideology, we will work to stamp out sexism when we see it on the campaign trail. To paraphrase the words of one blogger who said it best over the weekend: We will defend Sarah Palin against misogynist smears not because we like her or support her, but because that's how feminism works.

The feminists at WomenCount don't support Sarah Palin politically.  They are progressives.    But they are true to their feminist convictions and they aren't willing to stand idly by as a fellow woman is pilloried simply because of her gender.  I wonder how many other liberal and independent women are being totally turned off by the biased coverage.

I don't agree with the progressives at WomenCount.  But I respect them for their consistency and integrity.  Too bad it isn't shared by so many in the MSM.
