Baby Vetting
Sep 02, 2008 10:10 AM EST
There's lots of news stories out there today raising doubts about the McCain campaign's vetting process because of Bristol's pregnancy. And the underlying assumption of these stories is that Bristol's pregnancy should somehow disqualify Governor Palin for the VP slot.
They want you to think that McCain didn't know about it or if he did, he would have picked Romney or Pawlenty instead. There's an working assumption that wthere's something "wrong" with Palin and her family and they're using this unborn child to pressure McCain to drop grandma Palin.
It's a sick strategy. But the journos and the news anchors are using it.
