White House Correspondence Association: Any Violence Against Reporters is Unacceptable

Yesterday POLITICO confirmed an alleged altercation between Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski at a campaign event earlier this week, which left Fields with a bruised arm. Lewandowski reportedly said he manhandled Fields during a discussion with Breitbart's Matt Boyle because he was unaware she was a Breitbart reporter. Hours later, the Trump campaign denied Lewandowski was involved and then attack Fields as a reporter wanting attention. 

In light of the incident, the White House Correspondents Association has released a statement condemning any type of violence against reporters.

Many have called for Lewandowski to be fired. Breitbart leadership has asked for an apology.
