Gingrich Wins

Gingrich Wins
In a victory to rival Wellington's victory, Yorktown, Appomattox and the fall of the Berlin Wall all in one (at least in his own estimation, no doubt), Newt Gingrich has won the South Carolina primary.  It will be interesting to see if he has the money, organization and self-discipline to capitalize on it.  Florida comes next, where the money and organization Gingrich lacks may matter more.

In any case, as Shakespeare once characterized the course of real love, primary season never "runs smooth.". Candidates need to be able to overcome setbacks, and we'll see what Romney does with this.

His speech, sounding more fiery about Obama, determined aboutnhismown commitment to moving forward, and upbeat and disciplined in tone, is a good first step.  And he finally took off after Gingrich -- which is good, as it will show voters whether he has the capacity to go after the President with the kind of vigor Republicans will want to see if he wins the nomination.
