Broadway star Nick Cordero has died at the age of 41 after months of coronavirus complications. What makes the tragedy extra puzzling is that he was relatively healthy, with no known pre-existing health conditions. Cordero, known for his roles in Broadway hits such as "A Bronx Tale," "Waitress" and "Rock of Ages," checked in to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in March, when he first tested positive for COVID-19. He then experienced severe complications, including a lung infection and septic shock. At one point, doctors were forced to amputate his leg.
Although he did give his family hope when he awoke from a coma, on Sunday Nick succumbed to complications from the disease. His widow Amanda Kloots made the announcement on Monday.

Cordero's best friend, actor Zach Braff, remembered Nick as the kindest person he'd ever met.
Nick Cordero passed at 11:40am today with his mother and wife by his side. I can honesty tell you I have never met a kinder human being. Don’t believe that Covid only claims the elderly and infirm.

I am so grateful for the time we had. “We’ll catch up some other time.” pic.twitter.com/Oq2a8QsIyH
Braff, as well as Cordero's other famous friends, said the best way for fans to honor Nick's memory is to keep each other safe by wearing masks in public.
