Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) announced Friday the House would stay in session to work on the debt talks and cancel a recess set to begin on July 18.

The announcement was expected by rank-and-file Republicans, who have seen work on a deficit-reduction package intensify this week. Congressional leaders are set to meet with President Obama at the White House on Sunday.
