What was the biggest suprise of Election Day?

Barack Obama's obvious comfort level with leaders of un-free countries shouldn't surprise anyone. He is not only our first black president. He is also our first president who doesn't like the free country he was elected to lead and feels his job is to change it.

Obama's cordial encounter with Venezuelan thug Hugo Chavez, his bow of deference in London to the Saudi Arabian king, are extensions of behavior we have always seen on the black left. Jesse Jackson openly embraced Chavez, as well as having maintained relations with the likes of Libyian dictator Muammar Qaddafi and Yasir Arafat.

This should be kept in mind as our president now makes his own effort to bring peace to the Middle East.

It should be clear to anyone conscious and watching that central to Obama's Middle East strategy is to disabuse the long held notion that there exists a "special relationship" between the United States and Israel. The sense of unique kinship between our country and the Jewish state has existed since Israel's founding just 60 years ago.

The Arab world has always resented the US-Israel connection and has felt that because of this, Americans would never be an honest broker in Arab-Israeli negotiations.

Obama is out to change this. His first hundred days, from his very first television interview -- given to an Arab television network -- have focused on warming up our relations with Islamic nations and cooling down our Israeli ones.

We should appreciate that this shift is more than a technical change in diplomatic strategy. It reflects a change in values.

The "special" American-Israeli relationship has always reflected the shared values and traditions of the two countries. A commitment to freedom sustained by traditional Judeo-Christian core values.

Freedom House is a widely respected non-partisan organization that publishes annual reports on the state of freedom around the world.

They rate the state of freedom on a scale of 1-7, with 1 being most free.

According to the latest Freedom House data, released this past January, in the area of "political rights", Israel rates a 1. On "civil liberties", Israel gets a 2. Continued...

The successful northernmost plantation used borrowed money and a poor map to arrive in the wrong place (according to their charter). They survived because one of the people on the beach knew a kind of English. More importantly, they discovered that the agreement between the plantation and England allowed the p. to keep their money at home rather than washing it through England.

The southernmost plantation met no one who spoke English, settled in a swamp, was composed of people with too few skills given the situation (they survived because an unlettered boor named Smith had some experience as a soldier).

However, it should be generally agreed that the southerners took to themselves more of the civilized ways of the old country. For instance, they practiced the notion that religion was best suited for women and children; the role of the gentleman was to provide as well as possible.

Both kinds of society as they saw merit in each other embraced manifest destiny but each sought no legal relationships with other nations (except what produced income). Each participated less in collecting places as an outcome of victory than other countri

For example, we objected not when a thing called Palestine was allowed to set up shop in another thing called Israel. Palestinians are rightfully Lebanese.

But we have kept the ugliness that is that part of the world in that state by funding two or more societies (Palestine, Hamas, Israel) with goods harmful to one or the other(weapons, humanitarian aid)

Larstella Parker loves herself more than she loves her readers. Conservatism is an important value for any society, but conservatives find themselves in a hole, a minority with naught but John Boehner and the Entertainer to speak for them.

Larstella Parker is a shovel, not a ladder; a contributor to the hole; no help getting out.

Carlos the wonderer
The foundation of the northernmost plantation of settlers followed a group arriving in the wrong place; meeting members of a sovereign nation, one of whom spoke English; finding that they could keep their own bank (rather than sending it to England to be pruned before being returned to them). The successful set borrowed the money for the settlement from others who sought a profit.

The southernmost settlements sought pecuniary improvement by risking a lot but the gain was first for the investors who did not come to the swamps along the James River.

The American way of thinking is mostly derived from the thinking of planters. Among their thoughts: religion is best suited to women and children and a man is obligated to provide a quality experience.

If much of what is contained on this thread is the best of America, Jefferson, Washington, Ernie Pyle, John McCain, for example, thought, wrote, suffered, died for little.

Larstella Parker loves Star Parker more than she loves her readers. Conservatism is in a deep hole. Star Parker is a shovel, not a ladder, folks.
