Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

WASHINGTON -- When Sarah Palin said she was taking off the gloves, she wasn't just whistling "Onward, Christian Soldiers."

Or was she?

In the wake of the vice presidential debate, Palin has trained her moose-hunting sights on bigger trophies -- Barack Obama and the media.

In Colorado a few days ago, she told fans that Obama pals around with terrorists. Later in Clearwater, Fla., resplendent in white against a backdrop of red, white and blue, she said, "This is not a man who sees America the way that you and I see America, as the greatest source for good in this world. I'm afraid this is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to work with a former domestic terrorist who had targeted his own country."

"Booooooooooooo."

On Monday, Bill Kristol wrote in his column that Palin thinks Obama's association with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright needs to be discussed more. Because hardly anyone ever mentioned it?

Palin also took the opportunity in Clearwater to deflect criticism of her interview with Katie Couric. First she joked that she was only working for Tina Fey's job security. Then she said the reason she did so poorly in the interview was that she was annoyed.

We are to infer that the reason Palin gave answers that ranged from ridiculous to nonsensical was that she was merely withholding her insights to demonstrate her pique? Right.

Nevertheless, "Yaaaaaaaaaaaay."

The real Sarah Palin is free at last. She's not just a hockey mom after all. She's Palin the Impaler. Pit bulls beware.

No one who watched the vice presidential debate should be surprised. Palin's performance, notwithstanding her adorable dodges of questions she didn't like, was essentially a cri de coeur to America's non-elite.

Democrats and other critics distracted by her winks may have missed the message, but Palin's target audience heard it loud and clear. She is like the high-pitched whistle only dogs can hear. While Democrats heard non-answers, superfluous segues and cartoon words -- shout-out, I'll betcha, doggone, extra credit -- Republicans heard God, patriotism, courage, victory.

It's called code, and Republicans are fluent.

It isn't just the "maverick" word, which we now may consign to the Cliche Crematorium. Sprinkled throughout Palin's remarks were phrases that set the free associative mind in motion.

-- "Say it ain't so, Joe, there you go again" was Ronald Reagan all over again.

-- "I know education you are passionate about with your wife being a teacher for 30 years, and God bless her. Her reward is in heaven, right?" Every evangelical Christian heard her rallying cry -- Onward, Soldiers!

-- "Because here you voted for the war and now you oppose the war." Did anybody hear flip-flop?

A television audience won't remember facts -- and most won't race to FactCheck.org -- but they'll remember impressions. Palin successfully conveyed to those she was targeting that she is a Ronald Reagan-ish outsider who puts God and country first. And The Other is just like that elitist, flip-flopping John Kerry.

That's a plateful of imagery and a buffet of touchstones familiar to those who distrust "elitists" and who recognize in Palin a kindred regularness.

Time magazine examined voting habits and concluded that most people do not vote for issues, but rather for the candidates. Specifically, they vote for people who are most like themselves. Which is why McCain and Palin have amped up their rhetoric of difference.

Neither McCain nor Palin would dare mention Obama's middle name, Hussein, but they can play up Obama's past associations and let others connect the dots. Terrorist. Muslim. Dangerous. Other.

It is legitimate to question character and dubious associations -- and Ayers is certifiably dubious. The truth is, Obama should have avoided Ayers, and his denouncement of Wright was tardy. But this is a dangerous game.

The McCain campaign knows that Obama isn't a Muslim or a terrorist, but they're willing to help a certain kind of voter think he is. Just the way certain South Carolinians in 2000 were allowed to think that McCain's adopted daughter from Bangladesh was his illegitimate black child.

But words can have more serious consequences than lost votes and we've already had a glimpse of the Palin effect.

Dana Milbank of The Washington Post reported that media representatives in Clearwater were greeted with taunts, thunder sticks and profanity. One Palin supporter shouted an epithet at an African-American soundman and said, "Sit down, boy."

McCain may want to call off his pit bull before this war escalates.

PDS Obsession
I wonder when, if ever, Kathleen Parker is going to get past her Palin Derangement Syndrome. This is the sort of crap you expect from dailykos, not to find it on townhall.com
This is her lamest column on the subject of how much she hates! Hates! HATES! Gov. Palin.
Let's see, Obama's associations with Ayers, Wright, and other dubious America haters are legitimate, but Gov. Palin's speaking some sort of ugly code and equating Obama with Muslim terrorists when she points out his close past ties to Ayers. And Yes, Kathleen, Ayers is a real terrorist. It's amazing how some people will resort to such doublespeak when they latch onto an agenda.
I have no idea what it is about Gov. Palin that so upsets Kathleen Parker. Maybe she's mad Sarah shot Bullwinkle and made moose stew out of him? Whatever the cause, Parker better get past this or she's going to lose a lot of her audience. I've read her for years, but this third in a series added to the first two has had the cumulative effect of ending my tolerance.

Bye.

Parker Has Completely Lost It
I am a moderate but I am astounded by Parker's tunnel vision to destroy Palin. I have never seen her like this. It is like a different person. My only theory is that she is completely jealous of this new female star and cannot stand seeing a sucessful conservative woman that is not herself. It is totally bizarre and bordering on pathology. Find a new subject Parker. We get it. You don't like Palin. Please tell us something else where you can use your logical brain rather than your pathological obsessive emotions.

Ms. Parker
Your elitism is showing...and it's dingy gray. Go away...I'm so sick of being looked down upon. It's me and MY ilk that keep you in Buche de Chevre and Ambroise Corton le Rognet. My patience is wearing thin as is my retirement account. I want you ALL gone, all of you all-so-knowing Washington buffoons.

Vote them ALL out and get rid of all Washington "pundits." They're bad for your health.

Why do we...
continue to be subjected to this BS on Townhall? Enough, already.

Good grief, Kathleen
This article doesn't even hang together logically. You make assertions about "code" and there is a total disconnect between what you think is "code" and the meaning you associate it with. I agree, you have completely lost it. what a shame. I used to love your writing ... and I could forgive one Palin bashing article, but this one goes off the deep end and strains to make a very dubious point. Pitiful. There was nothing code about Palin's points -- she appeals to middle America and our values. What you see is what you get ... nothing code about that at all...take it or leave it.

Never that good a writer to begin with
Parker is wandering all over the map.

Her writing was never that good and her opinion would leap from week old bandwagon jumping, to trying to impress herself.

But like another poster said, it's now just rambling put to type.

Democrats in charge don't bother the Guarded Gate, blue blood/wanna be Republicans.

It's that nasty average scum that links up with the GOP that they hate.

You know, most of us. Working people who have conservative values and who look at Palin as someeone who stands behind simple truths and conservative values.

Those are the ones Country Club Republicans hate, we Grass Root types.

Now I understand kathleen's problems
She is full of contempt for Christianity and came to mock Sarah once again.

This is the third article in a row she has come to sink her fangs into Sarah and mock the lady.

Your attitude is a nasty one Mrs Parker, full of venom, may your curses come swiftly on your own head.

Go do the dishes Kathleen

Palin
This is not one of your best efforts, Ms. Parker. If McCain and Palin don't act brazenly and forcefully, they will be able to repent in lots of post-election leisure. There IS no tomorrow if they don't win today. I don't know that Obama is NOT a Muslim. I have read everything about him but I still don't know. How can these candidates be held to know? There are other mentions in the article that can be addressed in the same way. McCain can't give him a pass on ANYTHING! Everything must be challenged, including the release of all of his records. I, myself, wonder if he didn't benefit from affirmative action to get into Harvard. It is also curious that there is nothing said about his career as a trial attorney with 14 trials under his belt. Wonder what the results were in those trials. He is not using them to burnish his image. He is totally inexperienced. Why is this not fair game, to be discussed in whatever context and with whatever language McCain and Palin choose?

Am I on DailyKos?
Because that is where it seems this column belongs. We may not like everything Palin says or question some of hers or McCain's statements but I do agree with comments made above the KP has lost it wrt Palin. Perhaps she's worried about having a strong Conservative female as number 2 on the ticket (perhaps vagina envy?) but she is over the top on her criticism of Palin.

Are You Kidding Me?
Obama's relationships with Ayers, Wright,Rezko, et all are legitimate?? I think it is directly related to his character, which last I checked is an important part of being POTUS. It's so very sad to see Kathleen Parker go from respected journalist to such a cheap political hack. Being a conservative, I would think you would be using the word appaling regarding Ayers instead of legitimate...go figure!

Parker's Cry For Attention, "Notice me!"

Parker's new found oeuvre (Palin bashing)epitomizes the words of Oscar Wilde, "The only thing worst than being talked about, is not being talked about."

She's found something that gets traffic and has been milking it like a Jersey cow. I, for one, won't be coming back for her next serving.

Arriverderci Kathleen.

Palin Derangement Syndrome
The personal attacks from some of the posters here over the past few weeks were outrageous (as I'm sure they were intended to be). I didn't think we had that many morons in the conservative blogosphere. That being said they should be ignored. Sticks and stones and all that.

I'm a fan of your work but I must say with this latest article you have slipped into some kind of "Palinochosis" for which you may need professional counseling and possibly medication.

Because some knuckle dragging Neanderthal redneck at a McCain-Palin rally called a black man "boy" this is a representative sample of Palin's conservative supporters? Please. The issues Palin brings up are legitimate. Just because they have been discussed already and dismissed by many in the media mean doesn’t mean that they have been forgotten. Or is this line of questioning verboten because it is politically incorrect? I think Obama is an affable intelligent man too but his radical associations concern me. Let's talk about the elephant in the room. You may be incredulous at hearing this but it's not because Obama is black that I support McCain-Palin. It is because I’m not a liberal. It’s pretty simple. Most conservatives I know, at least around my age or younger (I'm 41) are color blind. We grew up believing in Dr. King’s dream. The fact is his politics are way left of center and many of his long term associations are with radical leftists. Is it OK with you if that concerns me or should I just pretend it doesn't for fear of being branded a racist? Which it seems you are doing with Palin and her supporters here. With our secret handshake, conservative, Christian, white people, trailer park "code".

I will continue to enjoy reading your articles but for your own psychological well being relax, have a warm cup of herbal tea and move on to a new topic. This one is getting thread bare.

What happened to victory with honor?
The win at all costs policy embraced by McCain's campaign is hurting the Republican party and creating a potentially dangerous rift amongst the American people. The character assassination and message of fear only encourages polarization. Is it really so difficult to stick to the real issues and recognize that left or right we are all Americans first and the vast majority of us love our country.

Where Will Parker Be?
Where will Kathleen Parker be employed after this election? Move-on.org?

2008 - the death of the MSM- and Ms Parker!

Once Again You Don't Get It!
GOVERNOR Palin (which you seem always to forget)is not representing the normal amongst us...she is representing what we see in this wonderful Country.

It has nothing to do with education, status, or ethnicity. I'm disappointed that you have chosen to believe your own spin.

Is Kathleen Parker Insane or Stupid?
Note to Ms. Parker: Hello????? You cite in your article that TIME Magazine's research said that people vote for the PERSON not issues and then you tell Palin to knock off the attacks? These attacks should be intensified not lessened. The MSM isn't going to reveal the truth about Obama. The #1 mission for McCain/Palin between now and Nov. 4th should be REVEAL, REVEAL, REVEAL - i.e. show this guy for what he TRULY is - corrupt and duplicitous.

Sarah Palin
I'm a bit suprised at your column, you seem a bit bitter about something tho I can't quite put my finger on it. Really Miss Parker you are looking very hard to find something sinister in Sarah Palin. this gal took everthing that was thrown at her by the elite and far left media for weeks, she has lots of courage and you should be one to acknowledge that. Obama is an empty suit, what he has goin for himself is the Chicago machine and some old Saul Alinsky papers. If you can't tell a marxist when you see one, you aren't much of a reporter. Obama will bring on Socialism much faster than any other candidate.

Easy Ms. Parker...
Go light with the reality-based commentary, Kath... it just won't fly here!!!
Remember...
1) We are superior in thought and deed
2) We are horribly victimized by all the rest of those who aren't superior to us in thought and deed...
Stick to the script please, you risk annoying us !!!
Snarlingly,
Conservative A. Lemming

Arnold Quote
The gov of California had a great quote in the movie Twins - "I have no respect for people who have no respect for logic"

That about sums up my opinion of this article and Kathleen.

I have to admit that I have enjoyed a lot of articles from Kathleen over the years, but this is just way, way beneath her.

the revival, not the end, of the GOP
Palin represents a rebirth of all that is traditional, sensible, and sane in the GOP most of us grew up with. Palin (and probably Jindal) represent a RETURN to the basic cultural values that established this country, and she (and probably Jindal) represent the END of RINO's and an END of the drift Left.
Even if McCain/Palin don't prevail this year, Palin now has a following and a mission...and I don't think she will slow down now.

Subject: Kathleen Parker is right
I disagree I think Kathleen is right. Sarah Palin is from another planet as far as I am concerned but that doesn't mean I think she is insane. Why are you guys so black and white in your comments? You are actually proving Kathleens point right. Can we disagree without being at each others throats?

Murphs point about Obama bringing on socialism faster than any other candidate is a little late. The Bush Administration has already introduced socialism with the buyouts of Freddie Mac, AIG and the bailout plan. The US Government now owns chunks of these companies. Socialism is here now and in a big way. However, it was the right thing for them to do.

I need a paraphrase!
I don't even understand Ms. Parker's criticisms of Mrs. Palin. Did Mrs. Palin lie? Has she made false claims? I know that Mr. Biden and Mr. Obama are often deceptive, and both of them claim to be Christians. Mrs. Palin also claims to be a Christian, but her walk and talk show much better agreement.

Ms. Parker seems to say that Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin should focus on the issues. I think that she makes a good point there. Nevertheless, she should realize that many people support Mrs. Palin precisely because of the issues. For example, I do not think that normally a woman should rule a nation, but in Mrs. Palin's case I am perhaps willing to make an exception because I am so much in agreement with her on so many of the other issues. And Mrs. Palin LIVES the issues, so her positions are credible. Look at her older son, now a soldier in Iraq. Look at her younger son, a baby with Down's syndrome. And while an unmarried daughter has failed to keep her virginity, there was at least no thought to eliminate the evidence, i.e. kill the baby.

It's so sad that such a great country as America should be reduced to debates over such simple issues as finishing a war that was begun or criminalizing murder, but these are some of the pressing issues. And any issue that Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin are bad on, Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden are worse on.

Using code? ignoring the issues? inciting riots? I'm sorry, Ms. Parker, but I do not understand your reasoning. I'm not even sure what it is.

Town Hall!!!!!
Why is this AH still here?

I don't mind different opinions
but this has become a twice a week event. Maybe she likes the attention she is getting and maybe a few more papers are picking her up now. Whatever it is I will be glad when she moves on "if she does move on" and talks about other issue. Maybe about Obama's new taxes and how they will further destroy the economy. That would be to easy so I expect her next article to be on Palin again.

?
I am looking forward to seeing the author making guest appearances on MSNBC.

After she returns from Peggy Noonan's tea and crumpets party which, I am told, will feature a breathy reading of selected passages from Peggy's latest utopian opus, "Patriotic Grace." In French.

Why bother to even contest an election if alledgedly conservative thinkers keep throwing penalty flags every time a Republican candidate notes that a Democrat candidate's long-time allies are (channeling Parker and Noonan) not the sort a lady would associate herself with.

Sorry, Kathy and Peggy, but your brand of genteel silkstocking white-guilt Republicanism died with John Lindsay's mayoral administration.

BOO HOO
Yeah, we're just a wee bit weary of the Bomber getting a free ride to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave on the medias back and the rest of you hacks running interference for him and jamming radar with lofty rhetoric. Now the secret black liberation disciple community organizer is going to get exposed for where his true heart is. Christian? Not so much, me thinks. Go to his old churches web-site if you need insight into the incubator where Barak Hussein Obama spent the last twenty years marinating in his "christian" values. His chickens are coming home to roost, and since the media won't take a break from its ongoing multiple Obamagasms long enough to give some of this scary stuff more than a cursory glance, before pronouncing it unworthy of our concern, Sarah will have to do it. Yeah, it's your job but your asleep at the friggin switch as unusual. Just like I don't hear any media Obama cheerleaders looking at what ACORN is up to in Ohio as we speak, I suppose it falls to Sarah to expose that too. No bother. We'll just have to keep doing your job Kathy. But a little thanks is in order, wouldn't you say? When the libs start howling and screeching about attacks, that's when we know we've got things dialed in just about right. And when they prognosticate that this will surely backfire on McCain, that's when the pure terror of exposure really shows, and we ought not feint or back down. Drive that stake through the heart of this evil, Godless machine of liberal leftism that will not stop before destroying this country. We will never get a moments rest from this fight either. It's like a bad horror flick where the monster keeps coming back to life no matter how many times you kill it. There is no question but that it is pure and undilluted evil that is bombarding this country in subtle small ways as well as big. You in the media have been willing dupes if not co-conspirators. Obama getting in would be a giant step for your wierdo agenda. But not without a fight.

nasty woman
SERIOUSLY: At some point, this pattern of obsession should prompt some psychoanalysis.

A good place to start might be your four stepfathers. American men love Sarah - is that it? Is rejection the issue? You ought to look into getting some help, seriously.

Or is this about abortion? Did you abort a child that would have had special needs? Or are you defensive on behalf of friends?

That sounds a bit crazy as a reason, but this pattern of behavior on your part is pretty crazy. You obviously are either 1. Defensive to the point of mental illness - people have criticized you so you will keep smacking them back in the only way you can, or 2. Hung up in some way. Palin is the only news? Nothing else of note is worth your sage attention?

Dozens of people writing comments here could crush you in speech or prose. You must be a really good self-marketer, because you are nothing special as a writer.

Is there no one around you? Are you a recluse? A hermit? Do none of your friends wonder what has happened to you? What about your family? Does no one close to you give a damn about your clearly deteriorating judgment?

Put your phony arguments on the shelf and start loving America's sweetheart the way the rest of us do! She's tough, honest, moral, kind, intelligent, loving, and gorgeous - and all demonstrably so! In short, she's all that most women would say they want to be. We love her! And we love to love her! She's our queen, our princess, and our lioness, all at once.

Go Sarah! Slam the phony socialists, lead us to defend our loved ones from their creeping tyranny!

Whatever objections you have to Palin, your criticisms of the 'inexperienced' conservative are helping the inexperienced marxist. You're the new Tokyo Rose.

This is strike four. One more and I make it my personal mission to have you dropped from this site and from NRO.

Can you explain to me how the heck could Ayers' adult children go to school together with Obama's kids who are 10 and 7 years old?

OH MY GOD
I WROTE my last comment before reading the article. This is meaningless drivel. Why would anyone write this? We should ignore the insanity of associating with Wright and Ayers because some leftist scumbags will cry racism?
We're going to hear the racist cry regardless, Kathy. Why not go down fighting? Do you think that if McCain attended a church that painted whites and blacks as distinctly different kinds of people that he would even be running?

Racism is about hatred for those unlike you because of the color of their skin. That is not the issue we have with Obama. Conservatives hate everything he stands for - the demagogic siren call of socialism and soft tyranny. They hate the idea that Obama, Biden, Pelosi, and Reid might run America.

And they are tolerant and generally Christian, which is why they don't hate you for helping the demagogue, they just wish you'd get over your hang up and write brilliantly about something different.
Would it help if we begged? Obviously someone has to do something related in some way to your ego or your sense of self worth to get you to stop your tirades.

******************************************
If you wrote four negative articles in a row about Biden, people would be starting to wonder if you had a grudge against the guy.
*******************************************
As far as I know, no one on the right has devoted the energy to Biden that you have devoted to Palin. Congrats, you win the big prize for making people wonder what is wrong with you.

Tin ear
This is an Andrew Jackson election.

It is what it is. I am sorry if that offends the high society set.

blind bias and normalphobia.
i can't vote on this nonsense. it is pretty clear what palin means when she says obama doesn't think like us. he doesn't. why does parker feel the need to infuse the point with race and wrongly credit palin with racial finger-pointing? the only point of difference made was accurate and appropriate. the only person that can't see that is the author blinded by her bias and her apparent fear of normal. as i've said, i can't vote on this silly opinion piece. can't i give zero checkmarks? or how about an eye roll and a head shake and ship her off to chicago.

The credibility of Townhall
...is at risk if poor writing like this continues. Please fire/discontinue this person. She is an embarassment and should go where elitist relics of the country club set all go: To be the "conservative" panelist on cnnobama when david gerken is out of town.

Please go away Ms. Parker, please!

Won't She Ever Learn?
Doesn't Kathleen Parker ever learn? When she wrote her first idiotic column against Sarah Palin, she turned off 99% of Republican voters. When she wrote her second column explaining her first, she turned everyone in the nation off. Now she further destroys any credibility she has by ranting on like the annoyed female that she is. Why doesn't Kathleen Parker learn? Townhall is a conservative group of columnists who write columns usually supporting Republicans. No one expects any columnist to write every word of every column supporting every Republican viewpoint, but this shrew can't get out of her own way. Please, Kathleen, just kindly shut up until the election is over. You have probably done more harm than any Obama campaign worker to screw up the Republican ticket. Plus, you have set back the cause of feminists at least 10 years.

Heaping shame on the wrong woman
The shame many here are heaping on Kathleen Parker belongs on the superbly unqualified V.P. candidate, Sarah Palin. Her stint as the "attack dog" is nothing short of shameful.
When her scripted, emotional attacks lead people in the audience to shout out remarks like, "treason" and "kill him," -- then I call that truly shameful. If some "nut" actually tries to kill Obama, Sarah and her cohorts will bear some of the shame. Kathleen speaks her mind and gets death threats -- wow! that says a lot about the nature of this "conservative" site. Shame? You betcha!, on those who actually buy into such shameful nonsense.

Censorship
I agree that Ms. Parker has her head up her you-know-what but my greater fear is censorship. Let's not start calling for the elimination of voices because that is what we are going to be facing if this Pinhead Obama is elected. And it's going to be against US. Witness the recent Obama campaign jamming of the airwaves in Chicago when Stanley Kurtz was discussing the Ayers connection. Do you have any doubt that a Demorat-controlled Congress and presidency are going to shove through the fairness doctrine? Kristallnacht here we come. Fight to protect freedom of speech!

Kathleen
I used to really enjoy your columns and I read this one, hoping that you had come to your senses about Sarah Palin. It appeared that you had - until those last two paragraphs of your column. Those words are all that liberals will cherry-pick from your column and paste those comments on liberal sites.

What happened in Clearwater (other than the one comment - which I will address later) is that the people of this country were finally voicing their intense displeasure about the liberal media and their role in the destruction of this great country. As to that one comment from a stupid person, that person should have kept their racist mouth shut. But your article seems to paint the entire crowd as racist because of one person's idiotic comment. You work at Townhall so surely you must have read tens of thousands of posts from conservatives as I have. It is virtually unheard of for anyone to bring up Obama's race as an issue - although liberals posters continually harp on that topic with their insane comments. What you have done is to help liberals paint all Palin supporters with a racist brush. My only question to you is - if you wish to continue helping Huffington Post, et al. with your comments - please give up your job at Townhall.com. We conservative readers have to listen to enough liberal crap without you helping to support them.

The reason this column gets one check
I gave this effort one check because I couldn't give it zero or less. Townhall, it's time to pull the plug on David Brock's -- oooops, I mean Kathleen Parker's -- mike. We have all the liberal media in the tank for the 0ne, making it impossible for us to get our message out. We really don't need to be insulted twice per week on a conservative forum. Let Kathleen write her snarky little hit pieces for KOS or some other loony virtual rag. Enough is enough.

Townhall...
... may want to call off their pit bull (Kathleen Parker) before this war escalates. Ms Parker once again demonstrates her Obama-mania with this stoopid article. Tho Ms Parker tries to hide her euphoria for Obama it seems to be seeping thru each article she writes. Let the reader beware.

words of wisdom
you are an idiot.

Secret code of democrats
Kathleen is clearly out of her league here. While she rants against true American values, she's left out the real story; the cancer of radical liberal ideology! What's the secret code of the democrats in this election year? "Bush and the past 8 years" which is quite frankly pretty thin and was pretty much all Obama could say in the debate last night. Obama, his buds and Kathleen all know McCain is NOT Bush and Obama isn't worthy to walk in McCain's shadow. I'll sure not read another piece of psycho-babble that Kathleen writes!

Parker isn't even a good liberal
Agreed. As someone who reads National Review, Imprimus, Weekly Standard, Conservative Chronicle, etc., I don't find anyone as openly catty and peurile as Parker. She's not thought provoking, intellectual, nuanced, or informed. She is embarrassing herself with each article she's written since trying to obtusely 'predict' Palin's disaster in the VP debate. Why does she keep shoving her foot in her mouth? DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY??? I'd rather listen to Alan Colmes nasal whining (at least he's consistent) than be exposed to her unhinged unoriginal invective that clearly comes from a woman who NEVER got the attention that the pretty popular girls in class got, but was tragic enough to think that she should. Not only is Palin far prettier and far more popular, she eclipses Parker's feeble intellect and make-believe success. She then tries to dive into the same sewer that Mike Moore and Bill Mahr swim in with her brainless anti-Christian prose, except she's not even remotely funny. We don't want her, the liberals don't need her, and now no one likes her. Awww. Maybe Sarah can ease her pain with a wink and a "bless your heart."

Some room for disagreement
While I quite agree that there is room for disagreement with Palin or McCain or Parker, for that matter, "code" usually refers to racist beliefs, or, at least, it has, in the past. I don't believe that Ms. Parker means to imply that opposition to Obama is racially motivated, so I would respectfully urge caution in using terms that impute so base a motive to people with whom you disagree.

I do not believe that BH Obama's associations with Bill Ayers make him a terrorist, but I do think that having so many mentors on the very far Left, like Ayers, gives us a clue as to the man's core beliefs. With so many of his speeches so vague, an analysis of associations is a fall-back attempt to see whence he has come and whither he is going, taking us along.

There is a good deal of resentment of what Mark Steyn calls the Metamucil media, because of their obvioius bias to the Left. Thus, it's not altogether surprising that the Press are getting booed. If someone hurled a racial insult, that is deplorable, and most of us deplore it, but, with so many stories about flushed Koran pages and massacres that did not happen, we have room for doubt that even that unfortunate transaction occurred.

However, yes, I'll keep reading Kathleen Parker. I usually like what she writes, and she's hot.

Kathleen Parker and Limousine Liberals!!

Kathleen Parker writes:

WASHINGTON -- "When Sarah Palin said she was taking off the gloves, she wasn't just whistling "Onward, Christian Soldiers."
Or was she?"

Aslan writes:

Kathleen likes what some southerners call...beating around the bush.....i.e. we are all suppose to guess that whistling "Onward, Christian Soldiers was just some FREUDIAN SLIP..but just for her Washatonian information...we all know she mean't whistlin Dixie! Lordy Miss Scarlett...don't you know nothing bout birthing babies????

Kathleen continues to amuse us with her pompous and condescending drivel....she has cast her lot with those liberals in the News Media who have already Coronated Barack Obama as the Mandingo King of America! Guess she figures she can get a plush job over at the Huffington Post with all of the other Limousine Liberals after the election when his Majesty Obama is crowned King of America. She will be able to tell stories about how she dished out to all those Christian Racists on Townhall.com.....give me a break.....whats unfortunate about the whole thing is that even her liberal Jewish readers over at JWR and Jewish times think shes a fruitcake to judging from their comments!!

Oy vey !!!!

Time for Palin talk
Ms Parker is clearly one of the "media elitist" who look down on the rest of us. It is elitists who got this country into the mess in the economy at this time. It is time for a straight talker such as Sarah Palin to tell it like it is. If we had anyone on Wall Street with "a lick of common sense", (everyday phrase for your elitists) who understood you do not loan money to someone who does not have a "snowballs chance in hell" of paying it back, we would not be in this mess. Bring Sarah Palin and her common sense to Washington, D.C.

Why this view from K. Parker?
I used to really enjoy reading Kathleen Parker. Now, I wonder which side she's on. For whatever reason, I think she is overly critical of Mrs. Palin. Some of her writing leans toward what you read on the liberal side. Is this the real Kathleen Parker coming out, or what is the reason behind all of this.

I wish Ms. Parker would get back to being her old self. While I believe McCain is too liberal, I know he is not even close to Obama. Ms. Parker, please think and consider what you're writing and get back to the way you used to write.

hmmmmmmm
I`m not sure why you seem so hostile towards Sarah Palin. She is (Sarah, not you) forthright and honest. I believe her, whereas I don`t believe any of the other politicians. How nice to hear from someone who`s not worried about being politically correct. Sarah actually reminds me of a book I read by Mark Twain called "Joan of Ark". Joan got off on a rough start too, not being very pollished and all of course, but her end results are fascinating. You should read it sometime. You remind me of what some of the folks in the crowd would have been like while she was burning at the stake. I am so sorry you are missing Palin`s point.

Obama on the Muslim Call to Prayer
Obama on the Muslim Call to Prayer
by Benton Bain

Sen. Obama Says One Of The "Prettiest Sound On Earth At Sunset" Is The Muslim Call To Prayer

When Sen. Obama lived in Indonesia his legal name was Barry Soetoro because he was adopted and made an Indonesian citizen, which he still is. Since his adopting father was a Muslim this was Barry's official religion and he attended Muslim school in the Indonesian language, which he still speaks.

We all know that Sen. Barack Hussein Obama II claims that he never was a Muslim even though he needs to be reminded by MSM, because he is not reading from his teleprompter, that it is not "my Muslim faith" but Christian. We also know that The New York Times would not compromise his 'Christian' faith. The following quotes are from an article in The New York Times:
Obama: Man of the World
By NICHOLAS D. KRISTOF
Published: March 6, 2007
http://select.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/opinion/06kristof.html ?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=slogin

' “I was a little Jakarta street kid,” he said in a wide-ranging interview in his office He once got in trouble for making faces during Koran study classes in his elementary school, but a president is less likely to stereotype Muslims as fanatics — and more likely to be aware of their nationalism — if he once studied the Koran with them. '

' Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated, Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.” '

You can listen to Obama's prettiest sound recorded in Chicago at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMBYF1LZ3FI

Thus appeareth the green eyed monster
Ahhhhh! Now doth jealousy rear its ugly head. Some women like Kathleen cannot stand the sight of another woman not unlike themselves being adored by the multitudes from whom they covet such adoration. It hurts even worse when the woman stealing their thunder is beautiful and extremely likable. Grow up, Kathleen! You were not designed to be a political rock star, just an "ink stained wretch" like so many of the rest of us. Your place is secure. It's time to allow Sarah to have that brief place in the sun for which she was designed. If you can't be helpful, please don't say anything.

Symbols, codes and choice of words
Ms. Parker says that there was symbolism or 'code' inherent in Gov. Palin's words during the debate. I think that's true, and I was one of those who heard "God, patriotism, courage and victory." Ms. Parker implies that more sophisticated persons understood Gov Palin's code and were turned off by it! Another concern I have relates to Ms. Parker's choice of words: she calls Obama's connection with Ayres and Wright 'associations,' thus inviting the left-wing condemnation of 'guilt by association.' In fact, as Thomas Sowell has emphasized, Obama had an ALLIANCE with Ayres, not merely an association, and that Obama aided and abetted Wright-- for 20 years!!and in 2006,to the tune of a personal $25,000 contribution. HE CALLED WRIGHT HIS SPIRITUAL MENTOR AND MORAL COMPASS-- THESE ARE TERMS WHICH PEOPLE RESERVE FOR THE MOST SIGNIFICANT WISDOM FIGURE IN THEIR LIFE!

It's Freedom of Expression
It's Freedom of Expression when Ms. Parker and others of her ilk lampoon the opposition, but it is another matter when the Republicans criticize Barry Obama's infatile policies to make America "better". Both candidates dodge questions they're not comfortable with, usually shaping a repsonse in an area they have strength. I thought Palin was more succinct and clear in last week's debate with Biden. Ms. Parker's is the typical liberal response, a hyterical response because Palin coems across as confident, articulate and poised.

Throw the bum out
Parker, take your stupid views over to Daily Kos.

Typical Washigton Post
This article is about as legitimate as the press claiming Bush blew the Katrina recovery when it took the Clintonistas 2 days longer to get help to Andrew victims. By the way, Texas Ranger, most of us already know who is at the root of the economic problems (Frank, Dodd, Raines, W. J.Clinton & Reno). We read the OTHER articles here so we know our history! Mortgages based on government social policy rather than credit is another liberal pipe dream that didn't work. Good intentions don't justify the means. Results matter.

So according to KP, we're supposed to respect the press after the job they HAVEN'T done on Obama and the job they HAVE done on Palin? Please! If I see something to respect, I will. Palin moved on from journalism to far better things than being a political hack for the Washington Times.

Palin
Should we give any credence to anyone who want face an open press?

What Parker Detests?
Pardon me ma'am, your 'Elitism is Showing'.

Elitism is a state of mind NOT privilege and wealth. Many wealthy people are not elitists and many elitists are not wealthy.

Kathleen, I have read most if not all of your columns posted here at Town Hall. One thing comes through loud and clear - you are embarrassed by your fellow South Carolinians - you think that your rightful place is sipping a Latte in New York City, along with others who 'Know' they are gifted individuals.

Your 'real' problems with Sarah Palin are threefold - religion, her role as wife and mother and her 'commoness' in intellect.

I could imagine these quotes coming from you instead of H.L. Mencken:
------------------------
"Thus such a thing as a truly enlightened Christian is hard to imagine. Either he is enlightened or he is Christian, and the louder he protests that he is the former the more apparent it becomes that he is really the latter."

"No one in this world, so far as I know ... has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people."

Finally a quote from Kathleen Parker:
-------------------------------------
"In 2003, when Howard Dean lamented that the South had to stop obsessing about on race, guns, God and gays, he wasn't necessarily wrong."

We 'common folk' are truly sorry we embarrass you, maybe you can keep enlightening us.

Sarah Palin embodies the things you detest most.

Kathleen Parker, you just don't get life, do you?

Bruce, I agree ...
I've been a Parker fan for years. I even understood, though somewhat disagreed, with her first article about Palin. Her obsession with all things Palin is pushing this onetime fan our of the arena.

One of the reasons I've been a fan of Parker is her moderate stance with a conservative bent. I've always felt she had a streak of independence and was fair to both sides of an issue. Still something has become stuck in her craw and she just can't get it out.

I wonder how she's going to handle Vice President Palin come January 20th?

Tod Kozeluh

Palin is the hardly the problem
After McCain's 'I can come up with a more absurd bailout than you' performance in the 2nd debate, I would think even Parker could figure out know where the real problem lies in this campaign.

Right On!!!
Well Said! It appears the "straight talker" who vowed to run a clean campaign speaks with a forked tongue in a desperate last gasp. "Country first"? Poppycock! Maverick? Hogwash! Pathetic? You bet.

YOUR CHOICE
'Soldier of God' or a 'Surrogate of Satan'?
parker speaks for the 'Serpent'.

Parker, You Go Home Now
Parker,

You're obsessional in your disdain for Palin. Three columns attacking her. Your comments smack of elitist jealousy tinged with catty pettiness. I cannot for the life of me understand why TownHall continues to feature you.

Goodness.

Way to ruin your career. This stuff you're writing is just garbage.

hate speech
All over the country, a DVD has been sent out that says all muslims are terrorists. We are being told that this was not political. Please. I hear people all over insisting that Obama is muslim. I think they should be showing the tapes of Palin being blessed by anti-witchcraft preacher and welcoming the Alaskan liberation party to her state. Among my friends, we cannot even discuss this election, we are so polarized. Not strong enough word: we on either side think the other side is deranged.

Fire KP - she's a liberal hag
This liberal-minded, posing as a consevative, elite snob, "I'm smarter than you silly rednecks", really gets on my nerves, Liberal feminatzi NEEDS TO GO!!!!

seriously
I have always admired Kathleen. And I'm very loyal to people I admire and trust. But whatup???

Is it necessary to bring down Sarah Palin. What did she ever do to you? Now you even stoop to defending Obama's association with Ayers!

I didn't know Sarah Palin said she was "annoyed" with Katie Couric. I believe it. Her questions carried a tinge of insult and bristled with distrust, arrogance and petty placation. Women saw that. Katie was like one of those Mean Girl cheerleaders--her voice dripping with contempt.

Sarah wasn't going to give into it. You couldn't see that Kathleeeen?

Palin commentary
I think you've lost the bubble with Palin commentaries. Maybe you should move on to other subjects so that you can return to your normally insightful writings.

Leftists...
they want to claim us red-necks and farmers and small town American bred and born ignorant. Most are not educated, but then majority of jobs do not need education. Often leftists make this well known. As if they stand on the Greek Pillars now in tinsel town.

I will keep my common sense and lack of arrogance and pit bull actions when I have had enough.

Obama dangerous?
If Republican leaders are unaware of how dangerous Obama actually is, then they are vastly more imbecilic than I have always thought they were. Any man with his sordid background hobnobbing with the likes of highly subversive organizations and people like ACORN, Ayers, Farrakhan and preacher Jeremiah among many other assorted Marxists and rabid Islamics is as dangerous as they come in high political office. If Republican leadership is really that incredibly stupid, and they could well be, then perhaps that explains McCain's otherwise inexplicably feeble efforts at attempting to win this election. From that utterly blind perspective, the campaign may be seen as only a silly little game for amusement that really doesn't matter in the long run. Truth to tell, I would not be entirely surprised to learn that to be their honest viewpoint.

Daily Kos
Kathy, you accidentally submitted your Daily Kos article to the wrong web site. Please remove it and go the the Daily Kos / Huffington Post and post it where it belongs.

- The Editor

Republican diversity
I'm so sick of Dem sanctimonious burblings about their "diversity". Well, they are diverse in terms of race...but not in terms of ideas. They've still got that taint of collectivism (marxism) where the Party elite set the agenda and the rank and file were ORDERED to toe the Party line.

Kathleen Parker is a good example of Rep's willingness to accept diversity of ideas. She's a Rep in good standing who is highly critical of Palin...and she's still a Rep in good standing. Any pundits on the Left criticizing Obama/Biden in any meaningful way? I should say not! They're toe'ing the Party line like good little aparatchiks.

REMOVE
KATHLEEN PARKER FROM TOWN HALL.

She does not deserve to be associated with this website.

Everyone who agrees with me, copy the above two paragraphs and post them here. Maybe the Town Hall owners will get the message.

Lost the plot...
Oh, Kathleen. What a disappointment. Your columns could be a little uneven from time to time, but were usually well-written and insightful, with an occasional splash of clever humor. Now they sound merely whiny, sophomoric and petty. I don't expect to agree down the line with anybody, but to misquote a certain far-left, no-achievement, ethics-challenged politician, This is Not The Kathleen Parker I Knew. Too bad. I rather liked the other one.

C'mon, Kathleen, you are reaching here
Oh Kathleen, you are REALLY reaching here. My impression is that you overreached on your first article's assessment of Palin's poor Couric interview, calling for her resignation. Now you can't completely do a turn around because your credibility is already damaged with conservatives like me. So, now you must imply that McCain/Palin's justifiable (and long-called for, I might add)call to question of Baracks MANY dubious associations and duplicitous behavior will somehow incite race riots. Come on, Kathleen, do you think so little of your Republican friends that any criticism of a black man would just ignite the passion of racial hatred that you must think is obviously fomenting beneath the surface of every white person in America? America is, not exclusively but overwhelmingly, beyond this pox of evaluating a possible leader by the color of his skin, and you KNOW IT. By using one irresponsible and alleged comment by a rally attender to characterize the tendency of the majority of conservative Americans, you do us a disservice and demonstrate an intellectual dishonesty that goes beyond the pale.
Yes, we do see in Sarah Palin someone, who, like Ronald Reagan, believes the best in America. She is a quick study and demonstrates the ability to handle herself in a variety of pressure situations, the Couric interview notwithstanding. Case in point the heckler at one of yesterday's rally. That kind of quick witted retort delivered with a smile and a "Bless your heart" strikes a chord in honest, unpretentious, and everyday citizens of this great country. Maybe you have sat in your journalistic ivory tower too long to relate.

Wow...

Kathleen Parker is now a total embarrassment.

TH... please.

Double Standard
The Dems can say anything, do anything, imply anything and we are not to be offended.

Sorry Parker, but there is a core of conservative people who are simply pissed off.

We're tired of taking their abuse, and tired of polititions who can't, or won't, defend our values.

Reading you, I guess I should just light up a joint, and rent some porn. If you can't beat em, I guess we just join em?

Parkers unease
Do I detect a note of fear in Kathleen? Just what is her problem with Sarah? I suspect that
Sarah Palin is beyond Parker's experience. She does not fit the mold of women who do lunch & attend cocktail parties with all the elite people. Sarah Palin is not a talker she is a doer & it seems she does pretty much anything that she sets her mind to. I'm sure this makes the ladies of the chattering class very nervous. Sarah Palin is a happy warrior & she takes on her enemies no matter how vile they are with a smile on her face. Gals like Parker just don't get it.

ratings disaster?
Just idle curiosity: How many single-star miserable ratings does a columnist have to receive before s/he gets the message that perhaps s/he's submitting his/her columns to the wrong syndicate? I believe Ms. Parker's change of heart would receive better ratings and a friendlier reception on Puffington Host. Most Townhall readers seem to find Parker's recent spate of Obama-adoration and Palin-derangement to be unacceptable, and are likely to mistrust her future efforts. Maybe it's time to cut Parker loose, and encourage her to submit her work to a more compatible outlet, Editors?

there you go again
Ms Parker- let's face it, you don't like Palin and you will never like Palin. That is your perogative. But people who like Palin are not fools or rubes for doing so. I think you just need to agree to disagree. I like Palin as a VP running mate because she is honest, decent, and agrees with me about family and religion. That is, I want to be free to raise my family and to practice my faith without interference from government. That is encompassed in my right to life , liberty , and the pursuit of happiness. Pretty basic. I might not enjoy lunch with her at the lodge, and I have never hunted anything bigger than a cockroach myself, but Palin represents my values and my faith in this country. And she is not full of manure, like the Democratic candidates and many "elitists" I read in the Washington Post. Many of whom cling bitterly to things that do not matter and scorn the things that do. By the way, why the quotations around "elitist" Ms Parker? Are you suggesting they don't exist? I think they do. And a lot of them hate Sarah Palin.

The Troubled Soul of Parker
I think the main reason Kathleen hates Sarah so much is that Kathleen is an Atheist and hates all things Christian. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Think about it. If you remove that, her bile-soaked comments about Palin make no sense.

It's sad she's filled with so much hatred. Her recent writings do little more than give us all a look into her shallow, self-serving, inward focused, and troubled soul.

I've never been able
to understand why some people are so enamored by "moderates". I see a lot of people talking about Parker's past stance as a moderate and praising her for it.

People should understand that when the chips are down, a moderate will always knife you in the back. Moderates play to what is most popular, all the while trying to act as if they see both sides of an issue, but what they are really doing is covering their a-- in case the winds shift. This gives them the option of always being able to jump to one side or the other without paying too high a price.

For those of you who are Christians, remember that Jesus didn’t have a lot of use for moderates. In the book of Revelation, Jesus says “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.” Rev. 3:15 A lukewarm solution is obtained by mixing equal parts of cold and hot.

I once had a pastor who said, “All anyone ever got from riding the fence is a butt full of splinters.” Moderates are people who do not have the courage to commit to one side or the other.

Character is everything
This voter is trying to get an assessment of character, and a really good way to see somebody's character is to see who he associates with. It is highly relevant that Obama endorsed a nasty, racist book by one of these people in his past. You say
"his denouncement of Wright was tardy," but in his delayed announcement that he was leaving Wright's church he said he was leaving because of all the negative publicity. He said he was leaving because staying "would not be fair to the church." That didn't sound like much of a denouncement to me. Character is all important and, unfortunately for you, Palin has it and Obama doesn't.

there you go again
that's "prerogative "- sorry!

Jim
You said it well. Palin taps into the anger of conservatives. She is the attack dog you have been waiting for to vanquihs the evil dems.

She is Right (Right Wing) and true and loves the fight. We get it and the elites, Easterners, Liberals, Media types, Gay Lovers, Atheists, Hollywood types, Illegal Aliens defenders, and anti-gun sissys just don't.

Onward conservative soldiers Palin makes us proud.

PS. Conservative columnist Kathleen Parker (Conservative in name only traitor, troll) should go back to having tea with the lunch ladies at the swanky private club in NEW YORK CITY.

NPR as a sourse?
Where have you been? NPR couldn't make it on the air waves a year if it were not for the funds it extracts from unwilling people like me. Take away its gravyboat of tax payer monies and it would shrival on the vine in a very short time. Ayers and Obama have a long time friendship and They were sitting on a board together when Ayers declared he was not repentant for what the bombings that he and his communist friends did. Senator Obama has ike a certain other Prsident an unwillingness to recall what his choice of friends stand for. Sometime before the election if this Ayers thing gets enough publicity he will disown Ayers as well.

Ms. Parker must go
Let me add a liberal's voice to the TH readers demanding that Kathleen Parker leave TH. Her relentless criticism of Sarah Palin shows that she is no conservative. She's souinding more and more like a liberal the more she writes about Palin. Of course, I don't mind this, but right-wingers should despise Parker for her turn to the left.

I'll teach Ms. Parker the secret Liberal handshake once she reaches our side safely.

For how many pieces of silver
She will go on a vacation ALLRIGHT after the election is over and won by HER hussy obambi. EXPECT MORE AND MORE VENOM UNTILL THEN.ed

Just goes to show
you how many cliques there are in this country from the playground to the Congress.

Kathleen is no exception.

The good ol' boys network of journalism needs to be broken, and until it is, this country will continue to slide.

I hope more people show up to make war with the media, not less!

McCain 08 = Nixon 68
In both cases a savvy old Republican pol is taking on the fight of his life by triangulation. He's personally preaching a "come home, America" message, while selecting a VP who can go out and deliver the pit bull red meat conservatives want. I'm waiting for Palin to do just what Parker says she won't do, and start using the "Hussein" ticket.
Personally, I wish Palin would show a little more depth and substance. There is indeed some truth in Parker's criticism, but Palin is doing what's needed to win an election.

Chicago is corrupt
Sarah palin appeals to ordinary people. we are sick of the ivy league types who have plenty of book smarts indoctrinated into their skulls but no concept of running a small business or meeting a payroll. Why should they be able to decide how to spend our money? It is not racist to want smaller government. If Michael Steele were running instead of Obama I would support him. Chicago politics is corrupt. Barack Obama is a product of that corrupt system. He is willing to look the other way to advance his liberal agenda of redistribution of the wealth. That is why it is so important to expose his connections to liberal Chicagoans.

Mental illness ? ? ?
Parker fails to make any point here other than she doesn't like Palin and appears to be suffering from a form of mental illness.

Get Real Parker!
People like Kathleen Parker make me ill. Sarah Palin has more credentials and just as much right to run for national public office as that twit BHO. Parker claims to be a conservative, but instead of supporting Palin or ignoring her because she doesn't like Palin's values, Parker goes out of her way to trash the woman and in the process insults the intelligence of Palin's supporters. Why? Sarah Palin does not pose a danger to any of us or our country like Comrade Obama does. Obfuscating Obama, coupled with Red Reid and Pinko Pelosi pose a much greater threat to this country than a war hero and a conservative, pro-life, Christian woman. Kathleen, PLEASE wipe the foam off your face and move on because you are NOT going to change minds with this impotent drivel. Your making yourself look petty and jealous and that is not a good look on anyone.

Yuck.
It's you and others like you (Noonan, Krauthammer, etc..) who are going to lose this election for McCain. Thanks for nothing.

Go away Kathleen. I agree with the poster who said take your views over to the Daily Kos. They'll love you over there.

wrong side
Parker is apparently on the wrong website. It's bad enough the left media are giving BO a free ride. Now the right is attacking it's own. Why doesn't she write something negative about BO? There's plenty of it.

noboma and the MSM
I can't figure why so many people are so infatuated with noboma. Change? What change?

Where does this guy get his ideas and what are they?

What is his experience? Who are his friends? Why has his wife suddenly become proud to be an American?

So many questions, so few answers.
communist-muslim-investigate!!

Wake up people, it's later than you think.

MEOW MEOW

.....You're an elitist snob Parker ...pathetic! .....COLOSSUS

Another angry woman
Whatever Kathy. We are all very sorry that Sarah threatens you so. I used to read Kathy's articles. This is the last one I will even open. Buh by Parker...

I just reread the article ...
to see if there was something I missed the first time. And there it was. Something I never saw before in any of Ms. Parker's columns. Enmity, spite, and even a little hate for Christians. It's subtle, no doubt, but there none the less.

Conservative's have been branded as being intolerant. Usually, I find that to be an incorrect lable. Intolerance is typically thrown at Christians for standing on their morals, even when they demonstrate love and concern for those with whom they disagree. However, Ms. Parker seems here to have earned that moniker with her sneering remarks at Governor Palin for Christian faith. Why else the unnecessary comments about "Christian soldiers"?

Tod Kozeluh
Lexington, KY

I can't believe this is KP!
I still want to believe it's Chris Matthews or Olbermann hacking into her account to write these columns but I have to fianlly admit it must be KP. I guess this is the price to appear on MSNBC, either give up her first born or sell out everything she had projected she believed in at one time. Any campaign should have the whole ticket bringing up Ayers, Wright, and the 2 former fannie mae/freddie mac ceo's advising Barack's campaign as often as Obama brings up the president. It's malpractice that McCain isn't backing up his VP in these debates along these lines. Too bad Gov Palin isn't at the top of the ticket with Romney or guiliani at the VP slot to attack.

Good bye kathy
This is a belated good bye to a false conservative who assumed that identity to build a readership.

I wish this was 2009 not 2013
Parkers worse nightmare, "a moose hunter presidency"
A successful moose hunt is no different than being a successful president.
A glimpse of what 2009 should have been for Gov Palin at the top of the ticket.
1)Avoid the wolves and use the hunting dogs--- avoid MSM media, except for Hannity and others that share her goals
2)find the moose--- identify the important issues
3)stalk the moose and site it in--- frame the issue correctly for congress and target the best parts why all of congress would want to pass this legislation
4)use proper breath control and kill it---Give speech and talk past congress to the people to reinforce the instructions to congress
5)field dress the moose---get line item veto back, (I believe she has this in Alaska), so all the unneeded fatty parts of the bill are discarded.
6) avoid feeding the dangerous scavenging polar bears---these are special interest groups that are already well fed that just want a free meal.
6) bring the moose to the hungry family---make sure the masses see who got the kill or in this case bill passed so the vegetarians/PETA part of the hunting party, (shameless liberal fringe), won't try to poach this kill 4 years down the road.
Gov Palin has shown she can do this in the frozen Tundra and in governing well in Juneau. Obama in contrast has all the shiny new gear for the hunt- but would just bring home dead fetuses, war losses, a snow machine out of fuel, and hungry, corrupt, friends after the hunt.

Infantile Ranting
I am tired of Parker’s infantile ranting. If I wish to hear lies about Governor Palin I only need to go to 80% of the main stream media. Townhall needs to remove her or I will be canceling my Townhall Magazine subscription.

Parker's Palin Column
Parker's "gone native". Dump her from this site. She's ready for WaPo or NYT. She's an insufferable elitist. She seems obsessed w/ Palin. Envy is an ugly trait.

Ms. Parker, you are wrong
Character flaws in the two Democrat candidates SHOULD be pointed out because those flaws point to the people the administration will appoint to govern, as well as how the administration will enact policy. Obama & Biden's character flaws have shown through in their voting records, in the leftist agenda they are forwarding, and in how they intend to preside in power.

Remember Billy Jeff? Good times for the country back then came at the expense of us fighting a war and facing an economic calamity now. Somebody please tell me I'm wrong that the character flaws in the president (and his administration back then) didn't help create the terrible predicament we're in now.

Go Sarah Go! Treasure in heaven or no, you're saying things that need to be said & doing work that needs to be done.

We Regular Folks...
...you know, the ones who cling to our guns and our Bibles, are sick and tired of the "smart set." Palin speaks for many of us, especially women, who are proud to be among the common people and who at least have common sense.

K Parker: Conservative with a brain
... how refreshing. I always expect the columnists here to make my blood pressure rise. Good going Kathleen!

Anyone who's honest with him/her self can see the tenor of the crowds of late coming out for Palin. Anti- this, anti-that, the only thing they are for is a Christian Theocracy where the Bible replaces the constitution and we are all immersed in an American taliban from Hell.

Of course, over which, would rule President Palin because ol' man McCain won't survive his health problems (or her obvious ambition).

Oh, the horror.

OBAMA/BIDEN!!!!!

The secret service
Are now investigating the people who, excited by Palin's recent viciousness and hate-mongering, were shouting out 'Kill him' when Palin mentioned Obama.

The people who shouted racial epithets and other obscenities at members of the press pool are not being investigated, but they were caught on tape.

As the Palin throng becomes more and more of a mob, and more of their vile behavior is caught on tape, it's just going to drive Palin's negatives even FURTHER up.

Most decent Americans, outside the wingnut-o-sphere, are turned off by racism and threats of violence. The McCain camp is desperate and looking pretty pathetic.

It is unfortunate
if anyone resorts to wanting to kill Obama Hussein. Good thing he's a democrat or the Clinton's would have offed him months ago. Just like the democrats have no qualms about offing preborn babies or Obama has no qualms about offing BORN babies either. Republicans might "want" some things but they don't resort to "doing" those violent things like the dems.
Speaking of wanting things "off." How 'bout Kathleen Parker's hatred filled articles??

Why can't Parker criticize Palin?
I'm far more conservative than the majority of people who post on TownHall. Why can't Parker criticize Palin? Granted this column isn't very good and I don't agree with all of her(Parker's) observations, but Palin is a disappointment. When she squared off against Biden last week, she offered very little in the way of substance. In fact, when the debate started, I thought I was listening to two Democrats. She is CLUELESS on the finanical situation affecting this country as are most Americans. She let Biden control the debate with his false truths and hollow beltway rhetoric. Where was "Sarah Barracuda"?
I'll be voting for her come election day because it's better than the alternative. Initially, I was relieved when
McCain chose her as a running mate. The fact that she is a beltway outsider who is far away from Washington, is appealing to me, too. But, face it folks, if she has to become the POTUS, we're all going to have to rally around her.
This election campaign infatuation will come to a crushing halt.

"Palin's recent viciousness and hate-mongering"

Interesting quote against a viable Vice-Presidential candidate.......

If Nobama gets elected, the "change you can believe in" will truly open your eyes.....good luck...

Sharon reply #50
you are absolutely right censorship by the left will be out of control
Obama will own
Senate, house, MSM, all schools and colleges
We already got a taste that colleges will remain indoctrination centers for the left when that denver professor and some students publicly ridiculed his own students for daring to be republicans. The grade schools aren't any better, all one has to do is check out Obama's youth corps on youtube. People will be forced to get in line on ideas, what energy they use, what they eat, where they drive, and even what they recycle. The useful idiots Obama is making use of now, will learn what losing privacy rights is all about with an Obama presidency. This is what Germany in the early 1930's must have looked like. An America under an Obama administration will have no room to talk about the silencing of ideas when dealing with China and Russia.

You're making a fool of yourself, KP
If you want to bring yourself down to puddle level, that's your business, Kathleen. But why does Townhall seemingly want to go down with you? If TH's plan is to go in the direction of Huff-Po and Daily Kos, then posting your catty crap would make sense, I guess, but it is disappointing nonetheless.

This used to be a trustworthy site. And you used to be a pretty good writer.

I have an idea. . .
Dear Kathleen,
How about if you get over this obsession with Sarah Palin and investigate Obama's time at Columbia and Harvard - I'm dying to know more about his activities and associations during that time. But for some reason the vast majority of the media ignore his past or gloss over it.
P.S. I adore Sarah and only wish she was at the TOP of the republican ticket.

Palin
I believe Barak Obama IS dangerous. I believe he has a secret agenda. I am not a redneck in Louisianna or Mississippi, or anywhere else. I am a white, middleclass, single mom, working full-time, maintaining a home, and hoping my children will enjoy the freedoms that I have in my life. My father was a Marine in WW II. My sons want to be Marines.... I am not a kook. I see the "evidence" and facts about Obama's deceitfully concealment of his friendship with bill Ayers, and I question his honesty. I hear him change his opinions as his political needs change, I hear his comments during the civic forum at Saddleback that points to "evil being in the streets of the U.S." with no mention of Jihad or islamic fascism, and I say --- mister obama, you DO NOT love america, no matter what you may say to pretend that you suddenly have become patriotic. I think his two economic advisors should be testifying before a grand jury, I think his wife is unpatriotic.... All this is based on what I have read in legitimate news articles like yours, and also heard on the radio and watched on TV. Please do not assume that the "attack dog" should be called off because those of us who believe the same as Sarah Palin are running off to shoot us a commie or something like that. There is SOLID, CREDIBLE evidence that lends itself to fear Obama.

CNN didn't want you then???
I see your still here even though you've tried getting someone else- the liberal viewing side- to hire you instead- Aaaaawww- I feel sorry for you....

NOT!

Yes, Sarah is speaking for me and for all true Americans that - our little voices can't be heard over the loud mouthing anti-Americans-Obama- and his wife- and his 20 plus years of friendship-cronies that are against America- and have bombed true Americans.

Yes- she is speaking loud and clear for us- our country is about to be over taken by terrorist!!!!

Infiltrated by mobsters!!!

How dumb that you can't understand that your articles are just as anti-American. You Are treasonous and you should be impaled right along side your anti-American lovers!

The Real KP
She agrees with Bamiecommie and Heather Malick Canuckcommie in their assessment of YOU and ME, fellow TH-er. "White Trash Bitterly Clinging to Guns and God." Interesting how she admits, albeit unconciously, that she considers herself the Ruling Elite and Palin and the Rest of Us mere "dogs."

What a she-ite.

Take the gloves off
Kathleen, you really hate women, don't you? You just blamed random racial comments from the crowd on Sarah Palin's attacks on Obama. When Obama decided to hang around William A., a domestic terrorist and work with him, Obama asked for these attacks. Now you are trying to blame Sarah Palin? Whey don't you do everyone a favor and quit writing. Palin is right, charater counts and Obama does not have any character. You want to blame everything on Palin - YOU ARE AN IDIOT!! Please quit writing! Marilyn,Charlotte

Townhall
Why are these columns carried on a Conservative site?

Parker's Derangement is Easy to Explain
She thinks of herself as the smartest person in the room and her delusion has been shattered. No one is paying attention to her and she has to blame someone. Her book is a flop (I doubt Kathleen would know a real man if she he fell on her lap -- the way the Duke fell into Jean Arthur's lap in "The Lady Takes a Chance") so when Sarah Palin comes on the scene, shortly after Parker's book flops, she makes the perfect scapegoat for Kathleen's failures.

Parker
Yor hatred shows through and makes y8ou a less effective journalist then Obama is a less effective Presidential nominee aned he isn't qulified for the job he is appolying for any more than you are qualified to report the truth
as an un-biased journalist should

KP the pinballer
Obviously KP's coffeclatch commieqr "girlfriends" ramped up their disapprobation of her across the cocktail table and she's running scared. How DARE Palin and Mack the Knife paint themselves as DIFFERENT!
How DARE they question the Messiah's Terrorist Connections! RACISTS, I say Again RACISTS, and they DISSED the MEDIA, they DARE!

Is there a single Conservative Constituency KP DIDN'T dis here. Christians, Reagan, Southerners? She hti ALL the bumper stops!

We are ALL, to her, that "certain kind of voter."

Since she hates Christians, Reaganites, Southerners, Country Folk, "God, Patriotism, Courage, Victory" and all of us who AREN'T "elites", would somebody please tell me what Credibility KP brings to a CONSERVATIVE site?

Huff Post or Daily Kos I can see.
HEY TH, what the hell is KP doing taking up your band with?

See, told ya folks, it was never about ANYTHING for the CINO RINO Rockyfeeler Gilt Bird Cabin Robber Barons of the Conservative Free GOP other than Marginalizing Reaganism to extinction. Discovering we ain't DEAD yet has put KP and Co in a Foul Mood!

If TH doesn't axe her they have no cred as a Conservative site.

I lost the bet
I would have bet a bunch that Kathleen Parker would not write another "anti-Palin" article for a fourth straight week. I would have lost.

At this point, you have to chalk it up to vengeance. The comments, criticisms and in some cases juvenile insults of her recent Palin postulates seem to have pushed her into verbal retaliatory mode. I can just imagine her mental shouts of "so there" and "take that" as she crafts her Palin pablum.

If your intent was to spite you readers Ms. Parker, you have succeeded. From this point forward anything you write that is read by conservative readers will be met with a censor’s eye. Congratulations, you win.

Poor Read!
KP Get a grip. Your subpar work stinketh more and more. The more you opine the more you stink. No one in their right mind piles garbage in the kitchen for weeks on end! It's time to take out the trash. Like way too many others -- you are drunk off of the kool-aid which causes you all to demonstrate yor belief that the popularity of a staged production (read inexperienced empty/vain no substance lying political hack) like Barry Barack Hussein Obama is the the way this country ought to go - ala the lying to your face, Bill Clinton. Whether you believe it or not character counts! Again, get a grip - you bore me...

Why is Parker here?
Parker can write for Huffington or Kos but needs to get out of here.

Ms. Parker
Look at these videos then you tell Americans to sit back and let Obama become president.

Barack Obama & Raila Odinga

Barack Obama & Khalid Al-Mansour

Obama's Friends

There is NO end to the dirt Obama is involved in. WAKE UP!

Kathleen, move on
You are obviously a left-wing liberal masquerading as a legitimate columnist on Townhall. Please take your Palin-hating, jealous, warped views and "move on" to the Huffington Post or DailyKos. Oh....and please move on from South Carolina, too. You are obviously too sophisticated to live around us "non-elite". And, by the way, exactly WHAT is wrong with "God, patriotism, courage, victory"?????

WHAT'S UP TOWNHALL
Parker doesn't even deserve my time.

But I'm directing this mail to you TOWNHALL EDITORS.

How dare you continue to allow Parker to attack and make fun of Palin.

How dare you continue to allow Parker any access to commentary.

How dare you ignore the many readers of your blog.

Parker has consistantly gotten 1 star on most of her Palin articles, and you continue to prop her up?

Send her to Daily Kos, or HuffingtonPost, she does not belong on her and takes up precious space.

For the most part I've enjoyed Townhall, but seeing Parker's mug in another columna about Palin again, make me want to unsubscribe.

Cordially,
weneedmccain

Note the only person who thinks KP
makes sense is Ranger Bob, aka PerBert!

He bears the same hatred for Christians, Reagnites and Country Folks, KP and Heather Mallik do. The same Hatred Obama does.

Hey PERB! Considering the fact the World is in financial melt down precisely BECAUSE America moved and is moving toward YOUR Moronic Mythcial Middle SOCIALISM, then Obamiecommie hanging WITH Marxists might be a cause for concern, n'est ce pas?

Are you really an Obamiecommie Worshiper for all your "Master and Commander" B&D swill?

Coulter nailed it a week ago. The Melt down started when we Socialized Lending. The AGENDA of Bamicommie and his mates.

Wow!!
Wow, how quickly one can fall. In the olden days I liked Keith Olbermann as a sports reporter. Now just hearing his name, seeing his picture, or hear his voice, turns my stomach. I'm now feeling the same way with KP. Just seeing her name and the title of her article, sickens me. I don't think it's a matter of PDS, I think the real problem is OTLS (Obama Tingle Leg Syndrome), and she's taking it out on Palin.

Lolo
Wobbie agrees with Miss Parker. NEED I SAY MORE?! Maybe TH can ban Kathleen Parker on a Daily Basis like they do with Wobbie.

Parker needs to move to Moveon.org...
She is a little too strident a spokesperson for the Left to be on this site...

Boycot Ms. Parker !!!!!
The way to end Ms.Parker's writting for townhall is to stop opening and reading her properganda. Simple as that.... If we don't read then Townhall won't pay her to write

Parker's Predjudices
Parker has several problems here. First, she aspires to retain the respect of the liberal 'elites' in the media much more than she does conservatives.

She is ashamed of her 'roots' in the Bible Belt and must show her predjudiced pals in the MSM that she is one of them, despite her upbringing.

Her other problem is the majority of the readers have lost any respect we ever had in her so-called journalism.

She has gone over to the other side, completely. The destruction of our society at the hands of Obama & Co.,will also be on her hands.

Townhall Editors...
Please remove Kathleen Parker from this website.

Sincerely,

Charles W. Graham, Jr.
Ponte Vedre Beach, FL

Boycot
Robin, you have it right. We need to take control. How we speak to the Media/Parker is stop watching/reading and they will go away. To often we forget it is us that has the power!

Kathleen's Kattiness Kontinues
Meet Kathleen Parker, aspiring to be the Maureen Dowd of the other side. No, Kathleen, it didn't work. In short, another lousy article. It starts off with the imperative, “Put the Gloves Back On.” In the article, Kathleen acknowledges the efficacy of the Palin technique in this paragraph:
“Democrats and other critics distracted by her winks may have missed the message, but Palin's target audience heard it loud and clear. She is like the high-pitched whistle only dogs can hear. While Democrats heard non-answers, superfluous segues and cartoon words -- shout-out, I'll betcha, doggone, extra credit -- Republicans heard God, patriotism, courage, victory.”
So far, so good, Kathleen. But, at the end, she throws in:
“Dana Milbank of The Washington Post reported that media representatives in Clearwater were greeted with taunts, thunder sticks and profanity. One Palin supporter shouted an epithet at an African-American soundman and said, 'Sit down, boy.'“
Advice to Kathleen: Dana Milbank and the Washington Post are hardly sources I'd rely on to fairly portray a Republican rally. And did Dana tell Kathleen that the taunter was a Palin supporter, and not just a troublemaker? Or did Kathleen hear it herself and make the surmise? In any case, does one 'rotten apple' brand a whole group of people? Kathleen apparently thinks so.
After waffling from side to side on Palin and her effectiveness, Kathleen says “McCain may want to call off his pit bull before this war escalates.” Suck it up Kathleen, you're in a presidential race. Did you really mean the title of the article, “Put the Gloves Back On.” ???

wow
Wow, Parker thinks that making a phony case that ones poltiical opponent is a terrorist and drumming up crowds to shout things like "treason" and "kill him" is dangerous in a democracy. She must be one of those wacky commies.

Parker,
unfortunately I thanked you for your first column. I thought you were being an objective observer somewhat in line with my own thinking. That is, Palin is not ready to be VP, however, I do understand why conservatives are smitten with her. She is appealing, charming, extremely likable, and seems to embody all the social values so lacking in McCain.

There is nothing remotely objective in this article. Palin can't tell the truth because it might inflame the audience. So, telling the truth is a dangerous game? Not only are you trashing Palin, you are trashing all conservatives for telling the truth about Obama.

He is a liar. He claims he did not know that the famous Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers had been a terrorist. Obama claims he "merely sat on the same board." The truth, brought out by Stanley Kurtz, is that Ayers founded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and picked Obama as the chairman, a position he served in for four years working closely with Ayers. Also, there was a 1997 panel on juvenile justice hosted by the U. of Chicago's Community Service Center, of which Michelle Obama was then the associate dean, it featured Will Ayer and Barack Obama. Obama's entire adult career is a lie. He has claimed that he had no knowledge of his anti-American, anti-white preacher, or about the demonization of whites promulgated by James Cone. But in your delusion, saying this will cause some to believe Obama is a muslim or a terrorist.

Palin has been sent forth to do what 'crossing the aisle' McCain can't bear to do.
He's pretty much like you, he can't say anything against liberals, but is quick to denigrate conservatives.

No one has the right to downplay the facts about Obama.

Head-scratcher
Yes, by all means, Palin should get her Christian, clueless, racist followers back into line before there's an outright war! This is a bizarre article by Kathleen Parker who continues to exaggerate at Palin's expense. The worst part of this article is that it looks down on Palin and her supporters, another trend that Parker seems to be following right down into the gutter.

Parker--not important
Kathleen Parker: Mrs. Irrelevant.

Kathleen: Going, going, gone . . .
Kathleen is now a full fledged member of NBC's Chris Matthews Show. And it shows in her kooky writing. Bye, Kathleen. Sorry to see you've gone native.

"Sit down, boy."
I n Tx where I grew every male that was younger than you was often refered to as a boy. Only some NY eletist would automatically assume this was a racial remark.

What is it with these people that makes them automatically assume that everything someone says has some deep dark negative meaning? Perhaps it is because that deep down in their black soul they atually hold those beliefs.

Sit down, boy? Wow, those nasty racists.
Next thing you'll be telling us it is all Sarah Palin's fault, that she is promoting racism through code words and secret handshakes.
(Oh, that's right. You just did.)
And we all know how racism lurks like an angry beast in the hidden belly of the south, just waiting for the second coming of Hitler to bring it all into the open. Before you know it, all those low life rednecks will be voting the Sarah Palin ticket. My my, Ms Parker. Such insight should be rewarded. Perhaps you should apply to the Obama camp for a position as speech writer. They'd welcome you over there.
