Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

It would be foolish of me to deny the obvious truth in a recent e-mail message I received pointing out how different the presidential polls would be today if the mainstream media were not so liberal.

Quit complaining, you say; there's an alternative media led by your brother, you whiner. Quit calling me a whiner, especially about the current plight of Republicans. It's my party, and I'll whine if I want to.

Unlike the MSM, the alternative media are honest that they are in the opinion business and freely admit their ideological leanings. They don't pretend to exemplify objective journalism. But unlike the MSM, their ethical commitment to truth is not routinely compromised by their mind-altering bias, as with that disgraceful episode known as Rathergate.

The MSM are a case study in psychological anomalies. They don't just deny their biases to us; they deny them to themselves, all while conspiring to affect the outcome of the election.

How do you reconcile their sincere self-denial of bias with their simultaneous demonstrations of bias? An epidemic of liberal insanity, with one side of the liberal brain forgetting to inform the other of what it's up to?

No, I think their closed culture teaches them that liberalism is so manifestly correct that its proponents embody objectivity. Bias is defined as any deviation from the only correct worldview: liberalism.

Their bizarre logic tells them that liberals care about people and are intrinsically altruistic. Only someone driven by greed and bereft of compassion could harbor a conservative worldview. Someone such as Sarah Palin, a former journalist who is unashamed of her pro-life position, to the utter astonishment of "objective" journalist Katie Couric.

Liberals seem to believe that because they hold enlightened positions, they possess an ideological holiness that prevents them from committing certain sins. How else do you explain the unmerited immunity liberals conferred on Joe Biden for his obviously racially demeaning remarks about Barack Obama's cleanliness and articulateness or his references to Indian workers at Dunkin' Donuts?

It's not just that they want Biden to win; it's that they believe that as a fellow liberal, he couldn't possibly make a prejudiced statement. But he did, and we all know it. For normal people, it's "live by the sword, die by the sword." For anointed liberals, it's "live by the sword; long live the sword wielder."

This same mindset drives Chris Matthews to incredulity over charges that the MSM are trying to destroy Sarah Palin. We Neanderthals must learn to ignore our lying eyes.

The MSM's jaw-dropping denial of presidential debate moderator Gwen Ifill's flagrant and undisclosed conflict of interest is another example. But understand that it's not just that she stands to make a profit from her book if Obama wins. It's also that the very theme of her book screams her Obama-favoring bias.

The response of the MSM further proves the point. They don't challenge her conflict of interest but instead imply that because of her journalistic integrity (read: proven track record of liberal journalism), she's above charges of bias.

The Ifill affair is a minor example of MSM bias, however, when compared with their potentially election-determining coverage of the current financial crisis. I knew as this drama was unfolding that Democrats, though demonstrably responsible for the government actions that made this meltdown inevitable, would succeed in pinning it on Republicans -- right before the election, no less.

Sure enough, though McCain was edging past Obama as this mess began, Obama has now taken a significant lead, and it's largely because the MSM are promoting the Democratic template that capitalism and corporate, Republican greed caused it, not bleeding-heart, social-planning liberalism. (Isn't it ironic that liberals continue mouthing the absurd argument that the crisis is being caused by federal deficit spending born of Bush tax cuts yet this bailout plan involves enormous increases in the federal deficit?)

And if the MSM were scrutinizing and reporting on Obama's truly scandalous record with one-tenth the intensity they are investigating the Palin non-scandals, the American public would be irreversibly horrified at the prospect of an Obama presidency.

All of this said, this election is far from over. And the alternative media are doing a valiant job busting MSM myths and countering their denied biases.

But it's hard to help those who are disinclined to help themselves. John McCain certainly has plenty of fight left in him. But it's time he finally got a divorce from the adulterous MSM, who just pretended to love him when it suited their ends.

It's time he quits giving Dems a pass (especially for this crisis they caused), unleashes Sarah Palin from her constraints, and re-energizes the base to deliver him a victory. Give us some red meat, senator -- please.

media boycott
Outraged by the media bias in this election? Stop purchasing newspapers and periodicals which have insulted your intelligence or sense of fairness. I would love to see a one-day boycott (preferably a Sunday when newsstand sales are the highest) to send that message to the already-ailing print media. And, advance notice of the boycott will guarantee that advertisers, anticipating reduced readership, will pull their ads.

doug ..So what is ..that WE loose
MSM drives the masses. We loose. :(

bias absolutely, so what?
There just isnt any question about it. Most Journalist have a liberal slant to them. That being said, so what?

The media was as bad or worse during the era of Reagan, G.H.W. Bush, and Newt. It is totaly up to the candidate to present his vision in such a way that his message and character shine through the bias, its possible and can be done. The whole trying to destroy Palin comments, hogwash Palin had a good hand in slighting her own dang self. No doubt she'll get better, look at how well she did in her debate.

Mcain needs to quite suspending his campaign ever time events happen and stay on message. He put off the convention for a Huricane then suspended his campaigning and almost canceled his debate for a little finacial crisis.

Benefits
Let me remind you, that when you were a child, your parents provided everything for you, and demanded you follow their rules or else.
Now you want a government (Democrat) that provides for you, and WILL demand you follow their rules or else. Do you call that Freedom? If you want Freedom, then you have to run your own life, and depend upon no one. Remember how you wanted to be grown up so you could do what you wanted to do? Well Grow up. Be responsible, do not wait for handouts from the government.
I know I live on Social Security now, but I was forced to invest in Social Security, by law.
It is not perfect because Congress took our invested money in SS, to balance the Budget. You do remember how Congress said their party finally balanced the Budget? Sure they did, they took all of our SS reserved fund, and used it to balance everything. Now they tell us Entitlements are destroying the financial stability of our nation. Well, then put our money back in those T bills you tell us are our money. I can't find one grocer who will take T. Bills. Not one bank, so the money must be gone. We trusted that Trust Fund, meant having money in the bank. WE don't. And you still want to elect a Democrat or Republican? Why?

Media?
Donald Rumsfeld says we must stop the Media reporting to citizens, that it causes the people to distrust the government. What do you expect after most citizens under 50 have been schooled with liberal dogma, by government selected school books preaching that the world has to remove borders, and have a one world government. That sovereignty is a bad word, that causes racism.

Media only brings our politics to the attention of citizens, who just need to let the government do what it wants. Trust our government they would not do us in. They love us? Sure. Well Don Cordell went to school from 1932 to 1946, a lot different history about our nation than they spell out for us now. I saw the start of socialism under Roosevelt. It has not improved, ready for no borders, no sovereignty, New World Order coming. Enjoy!

McCain needs a SHOWSTOPPING
October surprise pretty soon...

he will need every honest vote he can get because this election will apparently will be decided...

not by the 'independents"

but by...

morons and illegal aliens.

Media Bias
I personally feel the media has taken it upon themselves to usurp the freedom of Americans to be informed and decide for themselves based on their personal understanding of the FACTS who is the best candidate for President of the United States. The facts concerning both candidates should not the biased by the media's personal opinions whether they are liberals or conservatives. They need to present the facts, not omit or delete the whole truth. It is not American for them to try to influence and use their trusted positions and responsibilities to put their liberal candidate in office by lying, omitting important facts about their liberal candidate and slighting the conservative candidate like they have. Incidentally Sara Palin did a wonderful job against Biden. I think the media got what it deserved from her and that is "eat crow" !

It's Obvious
Conservatives believe the media is biased. Liberals believe the media is fair and balanced. What does this say about the media?

To all who deny media bias . . .
How do you explain the MSM accompanying BHO on his ridiculous World Tour a few months ago? Ignoring his ties to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Refusing to investigate and report on the depth of Obama's relationships with the subversive William Ayers and the anti-American Reverend Wright, not to mention convicted felon Tony Rezko? How about not reporting on Obama's ties as a so-called "community organizer" with this group called ACORN, which Fox has reported has been involved in committing voter fraud?

Anyone else care to add to this list of examples?

LIBERAL NEWS MEDIA
In spite of your whining they look at both sides if you would ever bother to turn off fox news and watch something that gives both sides.

CNN has analysts that sit on both sides. The ones they have representing the Republican view are very conservative.
Even PBS that is supported by donations has the conservative side as well as the liberal represented in their discussions as well.

Now if you want a really liberal leaning channel try LINK TV, but you would see news casts form the rest of the world on there as well. That too could be an eye opening you you readers.

Actually you should try it. A break from Fox might be a breath of fresh air.

Conservatives need to stand-up to bias
the only way they can in their day to day life. If you have a Nielsen box don't watch them - definately their "news" programs, but should we be helping NBC make money at all? If you have cable get rid of it -- you are subsidizing MSNBC, CNN, MTV, etc. and can't choose not to get these channels. Don't go to the movies unless they are productions that share your values like "Passion of the Christ," "An American Carol," etc. Think about it - it is your money going to the Obama campaign if you go see a Matt Damon, George Clooney, etc. movie. Finally don't buy their CD's. I like Bruce Springsteen and Tim McGraw but would never give them a penny as they are big contributors to candidates who don't share my values.

Thanks for the link- it was very informative.

I love it.

Pretty soon you will be reduced to sitting in a rocking chair with a cat on your lap listening to the recorded speeches of Ronald Reagan.

Media Bias has spread to FNN
TV news choices for conservatives are extremely limited. Liberals can choose from ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, and PBS. Newspaper choices for conservatives are also fewer than liberals have to choose from.

Unfortunately, it appears more and more that the the primary TV news source for conservatives, Fox News Network, is moving from right of center to left of center in coverage of the election. The only true holdout is Sean Hannity.

That's why I am doing more radio listening than TV viewing. I figure I have a few more months to enjoy fellow conservative voices of Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levine, Sean Hannity, and Bill Cunningham before Obama uses the s0-called fairness doctrine to shut down all conservative dissent on the radio.

So that leaves the Internet. I'm wondering how and when they are going to go after the last free speech frontier. Are you listening TownHall, Matt Drudge, National Review...

Palin no bush beater.
Joe Biden spent an eternity floundering over speaking to the gay marriage issue without actually making his footing be seen. Palin came right out and stated. Let me up straight to the American People. I believe folks can live a union but do not change the American standard for MARRIAGE in it's traditional sense. Biden then chirps me and Barrack to. Another score in integrity for Palin and straight speech.

"Biased" = "disagrees with me"

Conservatives kill me with this biased media nonsense. You people describe anyone whom hasn't bought the GOP talking points as "biased". You treat morality as absolute, but science as relative. Thus, socialism to you is objectively wrong, but evolution and global warming are things to be debated.

Colbert satirized you best - "Reality has a liberal bias". Indeed it does. You people are dead wrong, factually, on most of the issues. That educated informed people in the media call you on it isn't "biased".

But by all means, keep on nominating empty shells like Palin, and keep whining that life is unfair, and that those of us who can name a few books we've read are big unfair meanies. The tide is turning against your perverse ignorance. November 4th baby, read it and weep.

TRUTH vs LIE…

TRUTH and not politics should be printed and spoken when ever and where ever it is being disparaged. For without “The Truth” being known, we find ourselves at this point in history. History has shown that our Freedom and Liberty is rooted in “The Truth”; and prevails only when “Un-truths” are confronted and dispelled. The source of these “Un-truths” must be known and made to acknowledge these “Un-truths”; for what they are, “LIES”.

Those that believe there is no such thing as “RIGHT” and “WRONG” cannot see anything but shades of gray. They will believe these “Un-truths” without questioning them. History has also shown that those who believe without questioning are the first to die by the millions.

I am sick of politicians doing what they want, without regard for the common man and doing what is best for America. Doing the politically correct thing instead of doing “WHAT IS RIGHT” for America and the common man is WRONG; and will be the down-fall of the greatest and most benevolent Nation on this Earth.

Are you sure that's a Palin smile?
What a cute smile she has - just love those rows of pearly whites showing. What did you think about the ex governor - the one she slaughtered to get the Alaskan election???
He was for her- drinkin up the party punch at her sisters house while Palin is speaking the truth to Americans. Yeah, he has total respect for her today- he was actually reminiscing and said he kinda knew what Biden was feeling at some moments near the jaws of the Sara-cuda.
Sweet- sweet music
What is that old song?
ahhh.....

I'm going back to the debate recording- I like truth over fiction- sorry-
keep trying to spread lies you libs-
but it doesn't faze hardly anyone now.
Palin land, --- sweet!

Nat'l Conservative Whining Day
COnservatives have a tendency to whine a good bit, like everyone, but today seems like a special occasion. Is there a door prize or something.

For all you conservatives: here is the reality.

For about 20 years, conservatives have been trying to convince the world that EVERYBODY is biased. There is no objectivity. There are no reliable sources of information. The ultimate goal has been to cut people loose from the very idea of objectivity. By doing this, conservative media, which do not even pretend to be objective, take on the role of opinion broker in the conservative world. In other words, conservatives decided to accept the word of a bunch of people who are self confessed liars.

The national media is far, far more objective than anybody on Fixed News, TH, or talk radio. But conservatives have become so enamored of blowhards like Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. that they wouldn't know objective reporting if it bit them in the arse. They have lost the capacity to udnerstand what it even means.

The Ifill case is a perfect example. The book is about the rise of new black politicians as exemplified by Obama. There is no inherent bias in that effort: it's a very real phenomenon that deserves study. Her performance as moderator was perfectly neutral. But still the whining.

MSM is socialist, lies withoutconscience
Let's not lose heart. Gore lost. He lost his own state, Tennessee, where I live. Kerry lost. Clinton would have lost were it not for Ross Perot entering as a spoiler. Right up to the elections where those boobs lost, weren't we told they were going to waste their republican opponents? Even the EXIT polls showed Kerry winning. Why? Because they are WEIGHTED to show the Socialist Democrat to win. They don't just ask and count, they mess with the results. If good old boy Bubba Clinton (who was behind before Perot) could not win a straight majority, how can empty suit messianic megalomaniac Obama take America? Unless he IS the doggone antichrist, but that's another story.

Let freedom ring, Let truth be heard.
When it comes right down to it all the blame for the downfall of our nation can be laid at the feet of the press.
The American people would not be voting stupidly if they were informed about both sides.
To improve the press we would be better off not pretending that a human being can be unbiased. We think out of our world-view.
Rush is great because we see the conservative side.
Now if we could get the press to be forthcoming about the fact that they are liberals.

A school example: A science teacher says
Children there are some who believe in a Creator God and that He made the Universe. Therefore there is a reason and purpose for man to exist.
and
There are others that do not believe in a god and believe the world evolved by chance. We are therefor accidents of nature.
Then go into detail about both. That would be education.
For some reason some people believe that one view is religious and the other is science. But the fact is both views are religious, both are believed by faith.

Just as our schools are biased toward humanism so is our media.
Everything is relative.
Good and evil do not exist.
Liberals believe it is more humane for the government to meet every need of humanity rather than allow humanity the freedom to pursue happiness on their own and by their own definition as long as it does not corrupt or infringe on society.

TOO LATE
In your last statement you say that McCain needs to attack the Dems and unleash Sarah Palin. Unfortunately I believe it is too late, Obama, now holds a +6 in the polls, and only needs 10 more electoral votes in the latest projections. Start putting your money away into tax shelters, buy all the ammo you can, and get ready to home school your kids, the Marxists are going to take over. And the Media is going to never point out anything he does wrong!!

Find Some Peace
As I watch this election, I have my fits of anger and disgust, but I have to make a conscious decision to turn it around. Conservatives know the odds of the MSM are stacked against our candidates, but we need to find some peace that such manipulation and deceit WILL NOT be rewarded. The consequences may not have the timing we want, but in the end, people cannot operate like this and win.

I lean on what is GOOD in our candidates and I feel assured that they will be guided to follow their convictions, speak truth and shine a light on the deceit of others who wish to "play God".

Globug
They do not right that and wrong exist.
They believe right and wrong changes with the whims of society.

MSM - No Right No Wrong
The state of mind of most Liberals is they don't understand that there is a right & wrong.
Back in the 70's the mantra was "if it feels good , do it".
This attitude is seen in a lot of children of baby boomers.
Sad part is these people failed to teach their children the most important moral of decency in society. The difference between wrong and right.
If you don't know the difference between wrong & right there is no measure of decency in your life.

Media Bias
Look at the moderator who brought up VP Cheney's battle over VP as Executive or legislative or both. Nobody is thinking about this but it allows Ifill to trap Gov. Palin and to tie McCain/Palin to the current administration which benefits the moderator's ticket and thereby benefits the sale of her upcoming book.

Why didn't she ask about Sen. Biden's rebuke by his bishop?

She also deliberately misled the public on what former Sec. of State Kissinger said. Ifill parrotted the liberal spin. Kissinger said that meetings should be had at the Sec. of State level or lower. Not at the presidential level without preconditions which is what Obama said and now lies about with the assistance of the main stream media, including the moderator.

"They" are not the MSM...
...nor any longer are they the LSM (Lame Stream Media).
Both the print & electronic broadcast media have exposed their extreme BIAS.

"They" call only be referred to now as the PARTISAN PRESS !

Head's up all...a MUST see:
Last night Bill O'Reilly ripped into Congressman Blarney Fwank like no one has ever before.

Make an effort to find it,it is a classic !

The sad thing is....
people DO listen to the sound bites offered up by the mainstream media and believe them. Case in point: People in this neighborhood believed that Palin did something wrong in "troopergate". When I informed them that he had tasered her 11 or 12 year old nephew, was in a patrol car drunk, and had threatened Palin's father they had no clue about this.

It is totally disheartening to understand the depth that MSM's dishonesty and continued bias has on the general population.

MSM influences
Its not wise to anger half of the voting registrants. That means possibly losing half of the viewers, after this fall. Its very obvious what the MSM is doing. Maybe Obama has promised to keep them on as the state-run media. They are going to need governmental bailout, once half of their viewers get up and turn off the TV. The question is, have their sponsors figured out what is going on yet. In the MSM's attempt to appeal to the younger citizens, they are appealing to a more cashless community who really can't afford the name brands of the sponsors that are sponsoring them. Their viewers may by them, but there are still less people buying the products advertised altogether. Sponsors of MSM are investing this fall unwisely.

Ditto the Amen!
Take the gloves off McCain.

In Any Discussion Like This
It's a good idea to have some knowledge of how the media tricks and techniques are used to spin a story, which ultimately influences public opinion. Every one should know them by heart.
