Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The way that liberal politicians and Hollywood celebrities carry on over the plight of poor people, you might easily get the idea that they actually know some. They don’t. Why would they when they only hang around with each other?

Those two groups are made up entirely of narcissists. Who else would want or need to exist entirely in the spotlight? They’re like moths. The irony is that, physically, the two groups couldn’t be more different and, yet, on a per capita basis, they probably spend the same amount on Botox, collagen and plastic surgery. When it comes to nips, tucks and hair transplants, alone, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, have spent enough money to keep several poor families in vittles for years to come.

Speaking of appearances, I can see the attraction of politics. In no other field, except perhaps for rock and roll, are so many homely people described as highly photogenic sex symbols. I first became aware of this phenomenon when John Kennedy, a man who in his early 40s already had an impressive set of jowls, was sold to us as a combination of Tyrone Power and Cary Grant. Then along came Bill Clinton, a pudgy fellow with a big red nose and little piggy eyes, and yet even he apparently made liberal women swoon. Now we have Barack Obama, a man boasting ears that would put Dumbo to shame, a man who looks like he could leave Air Force One in the hangar and just let a strong breeze carry him wherever he has to go.

It’s not just the politicians, but also their mates, so long as they’re Democrats, who get the star treatment. Take Michelle Obama…please. Every time I turn around, there she is on a magazine cover. Now, normally, like the Mafia, I lay off the spouses, but inasmuch as this particular spouse attended the same racist church as her hubby for 20 years, I’ll make an exception in her case. After all, in spite of the fact that affirmative action got her an Ivy League degree and a $7,000-a-week salary and, moreover, has sent billions of dollars for no particularly good reason to Africa, she insists this is a mean country.

Naturally, the left-wing media is now trying to convince us that this James Brown-look-alike has all the allure, glamour and fashion sense of Jackie Kennedy. I have even heard her upper arms described in the sort of language Wordsworth devoted to flowers in the morning dew and that Keats lavished on nightingales. Frankly, if I were Mrs. Obama and the geeks started rhapsodizing about my triceps, I might consider wearing sleeves.

But there’s no getting around the fact that Barack is the bigger menace. His latest money-burning crusade is universal health care. It was bad enough when the Clintons pushed for it 15 years ago. It hasn’t improved with age.

If it were up to me, basic health insurance would only cover catastrophic injuries and diseases. If hypochondriacs feel they have to see a doctor every time they sneeze, that kind of coverage can be handled the same way as car, life and fire insurance. They’d pay through the nose for it. As P.J. O’Rourke observed: “If you think health care is expensive now, just wait until it’s free.”

A friend of mine thinks that one way to lower the price of medical care is through tort reform. He thinks that so long as lawyers can put physicians through the meat grinder, doctors will be forced to keep raising their fees in order to cover their insurance bills. It was my friend’s suggestion that if somebody sues a doctor for malpractice and loses the case, he should be liable for all the court costs. I pointed out that no poor person, no matter how badly maimed, could then afford to sue and run the risk of losing and that no lawyer could afford to take the case on a contingency basis.

My solution was that no lawyer would be allowed to sue a doctor if he had sued a medical practitioner, say, twice before and lost. That would at least prevent the worst sort of shyster from making a career out of chasing ambulances.

One of the things that concerns me about Obama’s presidency is that every time he opens his yap, he sounds so darn naive. Just recently, he spoke about reaching out to moderates in the ranks of the Taliban. A moderate in that society is a cretin who wants to murder Christians, Jews and any woman who refuses to wrap herself in a bed sheet before leaving the house, but who draws the line at beheading his victims for Al-Jazeera’s TV cameras.

I find it hard to believe that the majority of saps who voted for Obama last November would do it all over again even though he has been spending money in a way that would give drunken sailors a bad name, while Wall Street and Main Street both begin to resemble Tobacco Road. It seems that when people described Obama as charismatic, they didn’t mean he was particularly bright, only that he was able to convince a lot of dummies that liver-and-onion flavored ice cream tastes better than chocolate or vanilla.

The way things are headed, it seems that Khrushchev almost got it right. The Soviet Union didn’t bury us, as he predicted, we simply dug our own grave. We went Socialist without a bomb being dropped or a shot being fired. The coup took place in election booths all over America, and anyone who doesn’t regard it as a tragic event didn’t deserve to be born here.

Recently, the following message has been all over the Internet: It’s a Recession when your neighbor loses his job. It’s a Depression when you lose your job. It’s a Recovery when Obama loses his job.

Amen.

Mon Dieu, Un Autre Faux Pas!!!

Le Figaro reports that Obama sent the former leader of France, Jaques Chirac, a "very nice" letter, which included this idiotic comment:

"I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world."

This is a clear snub to Sarkozy and his pro-War on Terror policies (or at least, more pro-WOT than his predecessor). It's also slightly ridiculous for Bambi to claim to be looking forward to working with an out-of-power French leader, especially when he has made no visible effort to work with France's current one.

The actual President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, who has been trying for months to get a sit-down with President Obama is not amused.

Is this snub revenge for Sarkozy calling Obama's foreign policy "utterly immature" during the campaign?

What is his problem? He keeps p!ssing off countries and their press!

Making a List:

1. Canada: NAFTA fiasco.
2. Poland: missile shield "misunderstanding".
3. UK: Churchhill bust return.
4. Russia: "overcharge" button.
5. UK: insulting gifts to the Browns.
6. France: not realizing that Chirac has been out of power for two years.
7. Brazil: Misspelling the president's name.
8. Mexico: NAFTA
9. India: Thinking Kashmir is Pah-kee-stan.

Tax Day Tea Party Protest Rally On 4/15
Is Everyone Ready For April 15th?
April 15th is the National Tax Day Tea Party Protest Rally: In a town near you.

I'd like to encourage everyone here to find out where and when your local protest rally is being held on April 15th. The Silent Majority, Silent No More.

It's time to roar. America needs a tidal wave of American patriots to come out and ROAR on her behalf.

Every state has protests scheduled for major cities on April 15th and more and more cities are being added to the list of protesters organizing their local events. Even the Blue states have many cities holding protest a protest rally.

If you can possibly take the day off without being fired, please make every effort to attend with your friends and families. America NEEDS each and every one of us to rally for her!

Best column I've read on TH.

Denise, unlike liberals, your education has not been wasted. Keep up the good work.

Chicago excrement
How I wish we could send this bunch back to the cess pool they crawled out of in Chicago. I once loved Chigago, a friendly, warm city, but that was before I knew about the criminals in politics who have recently emerged and now occupy the executive branch in our capitol. God help us.

It's too bad--
Yes, it is too bad that our voting public has become inhanced with the likes of these politicians that continue to be elected. Also the media preys on the gullible sheep to tell us how great these various film "stars" are when almost all of them support these liberal politicians,(this includes the RINO group". No wonder that the dissaster barry was elected POTUS. The Dallas paper reports on how peso george is doing and his 2 million dollar house. Its a shame he didn't move to mexico, but the way this immigration thing is going , Dallas is starting to look somewhat like mexico, so maybe peso george will feel more comfortable with his homeys.
I don't think that we have had any real leadership in DC since President Reagan. We along with many of our friends some time ago quit going to the movies because of the lib "stars" and their ilk. Maybe we conservatives can draft a real pro-America candidate soon to run for Prez. What I and others I know want to say about P-lousy, Prune reid, upchucky, mangy rangel, and their whiners we can't put in print.

Sock it to 'em, Burt
The left wing moonbats are in an untenable position. They destroyed automatic respect for the office of president with years of low-class attack. They criticized poor performance in areas where their own policies are historically worse. They won. They gloated. And now we have what we have. Its time to make the decent hardworking patriotic people who vote Democrat ashamed of themselves and the people they have been supporting. They have shown how to attack. Now they are vulnerable. No mercy. Sock it to 'em.

Burt
Damn!! Tell us how you really feel.

When Obama's Brown Shirts get up and running they'll be coming for you - right after Rush.

Keep your head down and stay locked & loaded.

Obama doesn't give
a rat's rear-end about what he's doing to the economy. It's more important we be whipped into a phony, foaming frenzy over bonuses paid out to private citizens, so that he, unchecked and [so far] unaccountable, can proceed to drag this country into full-blown Socialism.

Unfortunately, because too may people believe that liberty consists mostly of being able to choose one's brand of beer, which movies to rent this week, and not missing the latest episode of American Idol, he is succeeeding.

Thank you, Mr Prelutzky, for saying what we all know to be true.

Schadenfreude, Anyone?
Say, Burt, my friends back there tell me "The Industry" is falling on hard times, like there are no more "entry level" jobs being passed out to all of our wonderful college graduates. And home mortgage foreclosures are happening all over the place.

Further, entry level at the former training ground of porno has completely dried up. How will we ever get another "Star Wars?"

If Wes Craven's deal at U. has been dropped, I'll know it's all true.

Chicago politics.

Burt, whatever you had for dinner before writing this one... have some more. 5 big stars.

Years ago, I always hesitated to tell people when I traveled state-side or overseas that I was from the Chicago area... as they would invariably smile and bring up Al Capone.

Then came the era of Michael Jordan and all those magnificent championships... and all was well with my soul.

But now I cringe again... trying to explain the Obama.

So, I also will pray for "recovery".

How Do We Like The New America?

Socialism on the way, Democrats in complete control of the country, the media owned (only Fox News and Talk Radio stand in the way of complete control) by the left and also the entertainment industry and the educational system controlled by liberals.

Ain't that a kick in the head?

Con Hypocrisy, Con Stupidty
"He thinks that so long as lawyers can put physicians through the meat grinder, doctors will be forced to keep raising their fees in order to cover their insurance bills"

Wow, talk about stupid! Did Sean Hannity tell you this? So you'd like to go after about 5% of the problem instead of about 50% handed to the bureaucracy of medical insurance? Really?

Take a look at Ricky Santorum's fine logic when he pushed for a limit on malpractice amounts, then had his wife sue (and win) for more than that amount.

HYPOCRISY!!

The REMF from Scranton
self-describes:

Stopped by your site. Dumbo looks great in that cowboy hat. Hides his ears fairly well. That cut from a Bob Hope moviie was funny. Let me guess. The Cat and the Canary? That could be Donna Reed and the other actor had a long but not very distinguished career. I think he played Gately in 12 O'clock High.

Curtal Friar
Man i hope you are wrong. Dumbo has shown incredible disconnect with reality, disconnect with mainstream America, but i shudder to think of some HItler style Brownshirt group. This is not an unarmed Germany with 90 per cent approval of a leader who led the country OUT (not INTO) a nasty economic situation. Sooner or later, violence would lead to resistance, which would lead to shots and neighbors would take sides. The only thing that prevented this at Ruby Ridge and Waco was the isolation involved.

The REMF from Scranton, who claims he FLEW, only made LtCol, and even THAT claim is nebulous, and thus, anyone ELSE with a modicum of success, is the subject of his scorn.

I think the American people in mass will only wake up if the main stream media tells them to. Otherwise, the numbers opposing Obama will grow very slowly if at all. We had a tea party in Raleigh on Saturday and the local tv station was a no show. They were the same guys that swooned every time Obama even looked at NC during the campaign.

Pistol
Part of me hopes I'm wrong about the Civilian Expeditionary Force as well. But the way the DOD directive is worded, it sure sounds like the group could be used to put down any public dissent against Obama.

As narcissicistic as the messiah is, it's not too farfetched to imagine some of his CEF boys showing up at a "tea party" to restore order.

Be alert! The CEF may one day be in your neighborhood to round up any firearms not authorized by the messiah. Five will get you ten there will be zero coverage of the event in the news. If it does make the news, it will read something like "Members Of A Local Terrorist Group Apprehended in Macon, Georgia".

GunnyG©: You're absolutely correct!

Projecting!

What doofass doesn't seem to comprehend is that we Conservatives don't log onto Puff=Ho for the purpose of bashing him...

Yet doofass must think there's some merit to spending more hours on TH than most Conservatives, doing nothing but bashing and castigating Conservatives.

Mrs. BO
I'm personally willing to donate a few dollars to buy Mrs. BO some sleeves. I think it sounds like a national cause if we all bought some sleeves and sent them to the White House - I'm sure she'd find some that fit. Or get the message; though two narcissistic personalities with more hubris than Wall Street Bankers might require a bit more than a simple nudge, do you think?

Can't wait!!!
As P.J. O’Rourke observed: “If you think health care is expensive now, just wait until it’s free.”

Yes yes YES! Nothing wrong with living longer, lower infant mortality, and 1/2 the cost. Hey, even if it costs the same outrageous amount, better health care is, well, better than what we have now.

Oh, wait. This was a feeble attempt to get Cons panties in a collective bunch. Seems Cons still believe paying less for more translates into something bad. I still don't get the lack of knowledge coming from the Right.

Anne
OK OK OK Specter can't even rise to the standards of a putrid CINO.

This economic crash must wake up the voters to the inevitable results of tax and spend. Otherwise, its goodbye American Dream.

Universal Health Care is not cheap. You won't be paying less. Where did you think the government was going to get the money to pay for Universal Health Care?

Were you under the impression that Obama was going to wave his magic wand and miraculously, doctors across the land would simply provide their services to everyone for free?

Nee
Spew Alert! I just had this image of a detatched head peering out of a detatched butt. Good job my mouth was empty. I catch heII from my wife when i mess up the keyboard.

I wonder if InTheMajority is
a real twit, or just disguising himself as one. The fact that health care will be more expensive when it's free should be evident to even a middle-school student. Whenever the government is involved in what should be private enterprise, prices go up a thousand fold. Do you remember the $300.00 hammers and the $1,000.00 toilet seats that the government was (or probably still is) buying? The point is, the government doesn't care what the cost is, it's not their money, they didn't do a damn thing to earn it. Everyone will avail them selves of free medical attention whenever they so much as sneeze. Right now, aspirins in hospital are $25.00 each. I can easily see that going to $250.00 each when the government is paying. The expense for you and I is going to be in astronomical taxes Mr. InTheMajority. So that's how paying less for more IS a bad thing. You don't pay as you go, you pay at the end of the year, even if you didn't go.

Incentives
What will be the incentive for doctors to heal in a Socialist Utopia? The goodness of their hearts?

What did Bob Dylan say "You got some big dreams baby but in order to dream you gotta still be asleep"

Gunny
The European health care systems cost have as much as our and statistically get better results and all of their citizens are covered, and no one who gets sick has to go bankrupt, and even conseravtives in those countries support this plans.

Plus no one in europe is clamoring for a system like our, but a lot of Americans would like to see us have a system like one of the European Countries.

Gunny, slogans are all you have the facts prove you wrong.

Socialized Medicine In UK & Sweden - I
Government health care advocates once sang the praises of Britain's National Health Service (NHS). That's until its poor delivery of health care services became known.

A recent study by David Green and Laura Casper, "Delay, Denial and Dilution," written for the London-based Institute of Economic Affairs, concludes that the NHS health care services are just about the worst in the developed world. The head of the World Health Organization calculated that Britain has as many as 25,000 unnecessary cancer deaths a year because of under-provision of care.

Twelve percent of specialists surveyed admitted refusing kidney dialysis to patients suffering from kidney failure because of limits on cash. Waiting lists for medical treatment have become so long there are now "waiting lists" for the waiting list.

Government health care advocates sing the praises of Canada's single-payer system. Canada's government system isn't that different from Britain's. For example, after a Canadian has been referred to a specialist, the waiting list for gynecological surgery is four to 12 weeks, cataract removal 12 to 18 weeks, tonsillectomy three to 36 weeks and neurosurgery five to 30 weeks.

Toronto-area hospitals, concerned about lawsuits, ask patients to sign a legal release accepting that while delays in treatment may jeopardize their health, they nevertheless hold the hospital blameless.

Canadians have an option Britainers don't: proximity of American hospitals. In fact, the Canadian government spends more than $1 billion each year for Canadians to receive medical treatment in our country. I wonder how much money the U.S. government spends for Americans to be treated in Canada.

GunnyG©
Thanks Gunny. For posting that 9:57 YouTube link.

Socialized Medicine In UK & Sweden - II
"OK," you say, "Sweden is the world's socialist wonder." Sven R. Larson tells about some of Sweden's problems in "Lesson from Sweden's Universal Health System: Tales from the Health-care Crypt," published in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons (spring 2008). Mr. D., a Gothenburg multiple sclerosis patient, was prescribed a new drug. His doctor's request was denied because the drug was 33 percent more expensive than the older medicine. Mr. D. offered to pay for the medicine himself but was prevented from doing so. The bureaucrats said it would set a bad precedent and lead to unequal access to medicine.

Malmo, with its 280,000 residents, is Sweden's third-largest city. To see a physician, a patient must go to one of two local clinics before they can see a specialist. The clinics have security guards to keep patients from getting unruly as they wait hours to see a doctor. The guards also prevent new patients from entering the clinic when the waiting room is considered full. Uppsala, a city of 200,000 people, has only one mammography specialist. Sweden's National Cancer Foundation reports that in a few years most Swedish women will have no access to mammography.

Dr. Olle Stendahl, a professor of medicine at Linkoping University, pointed out a side effect of government-run medicine: its impact on innovation. He said, "In our budget-government health care there is no room for curious, young physicians and other professionals to challenge established views. New knowledge is not attractive but typically considered a problem [that brings] increased costs and disturbances in today's slimmed-down health care."

InTheMajority
Government bureaucracies are nothing more than money sucking black holes and 'Universal Health Care' is just another one waiting to happen.

Government runs our schools, maintains our infrastructure, Social Security, the list keeps getting longer.

Do you think these are working great? You want government determining your health care. Apparently you need to be led by the nose, incapable of running your own life.

Government bureaucracies are like the digestive system. Good goes in and crap comes out.

Screw the government, I CAN run my own life.

Socialized Medicine In UK & Sweden - III
These are just a few of the problems of Sweden's single-payer government-run health care system. I wonder how many Americans would like a system that would, as in the case of Mr. D. of Gothenburg, prohibit private purchase of your own medicine if the government refused paying.

We have problems in our health care system but most of them are a result of too much government. More than 50 percent of health care expenditures in our country are made by government. Government health care advocates might say they will avoid the horrors of other government-run systems. Don't believe them.

The American Association of Physicians and Surgeons, who published Sven Larson's paper, is a group of liberty-oriented doctors and health care practitioners who haven't sold their members down the socialist river as have other medical associations. They deserve our thanks for being a major player in the '90s defeat of "Hillary care."

I guess what you are saying is that you don't want any facting information clouding the constant flow of propaganda provided by townhall columnists. Your movement is crimbling and you all taking about Botox. I couldn't care less what the woman looks like.

In point of fact, I believe the sleeveless look is an improvement for her. With sleeves she tends to look like she has football players' padding, but I digress.

What she needs to be criticized for is her use of child labor on the White House 'victory garden' and her comments to school children that when she was a child and did well in school she was told "not to act white."

Wow. Do you think we could gin up still more racial dischord?

Anyone critical of the European Healthcare systems gets quoted to dealth by the far right. How about all the nighmarish stories we learned from Micheal Moore about our own system. Talk to the family of anyone who gets sick in this country and they tell you about how horrible it is dealing with Insurance Companies whose profits are increased by spending less and who also reject many medical options. Of course, if you are the mega rich you can pay out of pocket here in America, but for the rest of us, its a horrible and expensive system.

Fear of losing a job means fear of losing your health insurance. That does not happen in Europe and people don't have to go bankrupt because they get sick.

Univeral healthcare is very popular in Europe. Even conservatives in those countries support their system. That is the best proof.

Breaking News
According to undisclosed sources, the theme song for the Obama administration has been released.

"He rode a blazing saddle...."

Very Simple Burt, He’s the Messiah
“I find it hard to believe that the majority of saps who voted for Obama last November would do it all over again”

The Obamites are members of a Cult. It doesn’t matter how many times the cult leader incorrectly predicts the date the world will end, the members must continue to believe.

For Obamites, the Messiah is an all or nothing roll of the dice.

If they ever truly realized the delusion that they suffer from, the resulting horror would either lead to catatonia or suicide.

JMO51 thinks the government can do such a swell job at running UHC, but can't so much as break even on their lunch room at the capitol.

They can't even distribute "free" coupons for converter boxes that has been in the works for 5+ years.

No question that there are insurance issues that need to be addressed with regard to health care. That doesn't necessarily lead to the erroneous conclusion that the government should take it over.

Insurance should be a PRIVATE decision. Many of the folks you mention as being scared they will lose their insurance if they lose their jobs are unwilling to purchase their own insurance.

I think we need coverage for catastrophic disease/accident care. Other than that, it should be pay as you go. Just like routine maintenance for your automobile, home or boat.

HMOs to not work and have contributed to the escalation of costs. Tort reform is needed.

What you, and others who have jumped upon the bandwagon for UHC don't seem to grasp is, once the government has absolute control over your health, it has absolute control over your life.

We're nearly there with the great Ponzi Scheme known as Social Security. We've added to that with unconstitutional programs like 'the War on Poverty' (what's the exit strategy on that, and have we won any battles there?)'war on Drugs' 'No Child Left Behind' and 'Affordable Housing' etc. etc. etc.

Social engineering will be complete with UHC.

My freedom is worth more to me than that.

You want to fix health care? Fine. Do it in the private sector. I don't want the bureaucrats in Washington rationing my care, my access to care, or the amount of care I receive.

AGAIN we have government meddling that has created more red tape, more regulation, more bloated redundant programs, and costs to you and me escalate exponentially.

And right along with the loss of earned income comes loss of Liberty.

Who's the new lib?

Amen on Universal health care.

The ones who support such a travesty seem to think that Obama will wave his mighty hand over the nation and suddenly doctors across the land will suddenly and miraculously offer their services for free and we'll all live happily ever after.

They've never once stopped to consider how such an astronomical cost would be paid for.

Obama can do that and what's to stop him? As they tax bonuses punitively, limit executive pay, what is to stop him?

I also see some serious political blunders that amount to cracks in the dike. He lambasted Congress over those bonuses last night on 60 Minutes, and has Eric Holder telling the police unions in SF to shut up. You don't get anything done in SF without the police and fire unions. Way to go Obama...you just alienated your base.

Nearly 2 billion to Egypt, and another 700 million to places like Uganda and Kenya. In 2001, US sent about 1.4 billion to Africa in ODA and by 2006 it was at 4 billion. It was set to be 9 billion by 2010. So yes, the US does indeed send billions to Africa.

However, the US is dead last in ODA among OECD nations sending about 0.16% in ODA and a far cry from the promised 0.7% of GDP it and the other OECD nations agreed to in 1970 when UN Resolution 2626 was passed. Most have never come close to reaching this goal--including the US.

About 15 years ago, I had an aunt go back to her home country of England for "free" care for her cancer diagnosis she had just received here in the US. And some 18-22,000 die in the US too due to lack of health insurance. So not very perfect in the US either. Could the US pull off a well run UHI system. I have my doubts. If it can't issue passports in a reasonable amount of time, why should we expect it to run a healthcare system well, but the current system isn't so hot either. Ranked dead last among industralized nations and less than 50% of the population have a favorable opinion of the current state of healthcare in the US.

A couple of weeks ago, Mark Levin did a detailed analysis of what goes into the WHO rankings of a healthcare system. Many of them had nothing, NOTHING to do with healthCARE. When it comes to actual healthcare, we easily beat any other country. How do I know? Common sense. When any world leader needs something serious done, most come here. Canadiens who can pay, cross the border for better, quicker treatment. Expense is an issue but blowing up the best system ever known to man is NOT the solution. So those who believe that Cuba has a better healthcare system should really check into a mental institution.

Obviously, you have never lived in Europe. If you had, you would know that socialized medicine is not nearly as wonderful as you have been led to believe.

I lived in the UK and in France. My sister still lives in France. Did I seek treatment in a socialized hospital? No. Does my sister and her family go to a socialized hospital for treatment? Absolutely not. They fly back here.

What you fail to understand is that healthcare in Europe is really a "Tale of Two Classes". The upper-middle class and the "rich" NEVER go into the socialized system. They may pay exhorbitant taxes, but they go to private clinics. Everyone else gets to experience the horrors of socialized medicine.

There is a far easier way to deal with healthcare here without socializing the system and bankrupting the country. The govt. should mandate that the insurance companies pay when premiums are remitted by policyholders. To help the less fortunate, the government can give tax credits and subsidize those who do not have the means to pay for insurance.

All I can say, is that it will be a sad day when this country goes the way of Europe.

And, please do not bring up life expectancy. The fact is that the longevity rates are marginally higher in Europe, but primarily because the people are in better shape. We have a country where 2/3 of the population is either overwieght or obese. This is not presently the case in Europe; however, those countries are "gaining" on us. As their obesity rates rise their life expectancy rates will decrease.

I do not want to participate in universal healthcare or a socialized medical system. Further, I sure as hell don't want to pay for it. If it means I must cut my productivity and earn less, I will so as to avoid pay higher taxes to Obama's Utopia, which will add more than $9.3T (without interest) to our national debt in the next 10 years.

Paying the court costs
I get your point and it's a good one but I'd modify your friends idea. The losing lawyer should pay all the court costs, not his client. True medical malpractice should be fairly easy to prove, especially given the likelihood of a sympathetic jury, and any lawyer worth his fee should have high confidence in his or her ability to win the case in this instance. If the clients complaint has no merit then don't take the case. Of course the case could still be lost. In that event the lawyer pays the court costs but that should be part of the cost of doing business as is the exorbitant cost of malpractice insurance for the medical community.

Barack Obama a pathological narcissist

Barack Obama is a pathological narcissist and has a very weak sense of self.

Barack Obama compensates his devalued and injured self with pomposity and by projecting a false image of majesty and authority.

Barack Obama retreats into a bubble universe of fantasy, in which he is loved, respected and omnipotent.

All children create such a world. Narcissists like Barack Obama, simply don’t leave it.

Barack Obama has carried this world of pretense into his adulthood.

Barack Obama has made this world so real, he NO longer can differentiate his world, from reality (real world).

When Obama acts presidential, he is simply acting out his childhood fantasy of omnipotence and grandeur.

Barack Obama emotionally, is still a little hurt boy (from a dysfunctional family), neglected and unloved in the body and mind of a grown up man.

Barack Obama, can and will be dangerous.

Barack Obama has the emotional maturity of a child, but the intellect of a man.

Barack Obama is a 'Perpetual Child' and will project the rage of a child towards Liberals and anyone else, when they begin to criticize his failures to produce his campaign rhetoric.

Most American Citizens wonder why Barack Obama has selected and placed, weak and incompetent people to positions of power.

The most obvious are Joe Biden and Tim Geithner.

Both of these men crave influence, respect, and power, but they lack the necessary competencies to achieve their desires.

These incompetent 'Morons' do NOT understand, that Barack Obama has chosen them specifically because they are incompetent and must depend on Barack Obama for their positions.

The consequent dependency, on this Sociopath - Barack Obama - makes them permanent manipulatees, expendable pawns to absorb the harassment that should be directed towards Barack Obama.

Barack Obama knows he is unable to expound his thoughts without a Teleprompter, so he picks a human 'Gaffe Machine' like Joe Biden who is even worse than he, that would replace him should he fail.

Barack Obama wants the American Economic System destroyed, so that he can replace Capitalism with Socialism, so he picks an absolutely incompetent 'Rube' Tim Geithner, to head up the Treasury and then announces great confidence in Geithner.

Actually that was my claim which is a stretch but the real reason was to bring up the huge aid we send to Israel when we mention Egyptian aid which everyone seems to try so hard to avoid mentioning.

Moronic Logic or Just Leftist Thinking ?

Curtal Friar posts an opinion on a Legitimate item of concern, a similarity between Barack Obama's 'National Civilian Security Force' and Hitler's Brown Shirts.

Some responses to Curtal Friar's 'Clear and Present Danger' includes:

1) We have something similar in my state and we have had NO problems.
2) If the personal 'Security Force' gets out of hand I will NOT support it.

I have never seen such 'Moronic Thinking'.

A federal 'Civilian Security Force' that rivals the same power, equipment and funding, CANNOT be compared to a 1 in 50 State force.

Once this 'Civilian Security Force' is in power, NOT supporting it is the equivalent of 'Mooning a Hurricane'.

Curtal Friar thanks for a timely article!

Liberals your 'Moronic Logic' borders on insanity - as usual.

Many Good People voted Obama

Many good Germans believed that Hitler was the 'Hope' for Germany, and when the dark side of Hitler became apparent, his supporters and apologists were so ego driven they would not admit they were wrong.

If all the good people of Germany had seen through the deception of the media and spoken out against Hitler, he could not have wielded such power.

Americans now must decide whether or not it is worth being called names and labels like 'racist' and 'stupid' and all manner of derision from the Liberals and Democrats to stand up for truth.

American citizens who understand the principles of Liberty and self determination instead of having an 'identity' within some collectivist group must resist Obama and those who seek to limit freedom.

Those of us who understand the lessons from history know that evil grows stronger when it is not resisted, it can become so strong that evil can not be overcome.

Standing up for America and the reasons it was founded is the duty of every American Citizen, even when one is attacked and derided for doing so.

Who one voted for, has little importance for how can we solve the current 'War on Freedom'.

Heroes and Patriots are NOT pre-determined by any criteria, what people do in times of 'Extreme Stress', are what determines Heroes and Patriots.

The US sends Israel nearly 3 billion (#2 on the list), but since the question was aid to Africa and not Israel, I restricted my remarks to aid to Africa. Why is Israel germane to this topic? If you want to say that aid to Israel is as worthless as aid to Africa (which I guess was Burt's point--"has sent billions of dollars for no particularly good reason to Africa), then bring that up with Burt (why not include aid to Israel, Burt?), not me.

Obviously, you have never lived in Europe. If you had, you would know that socialized medicine is not nearly as wonderful as you have been led to believe."

No system is perfect but it is generally at least as good and cheaper than in the US

I have lived in the UK, Germany, Italy and France and received treatment for my family or me in the UK, Germany and France. All were good and Germany watered my eyes

Why are they? I would put to you availability of medical care is part of the reason. It is not just longevity but quality of life

"...I do not want to participate in universal healthcare or a socialized medical system. Further, I sure as hell don't want to pay for it. If it means I must cut my productivity and earn less, I will so as to avoid pay higher taxes to Obama's Utopia, which will add more than $9.3T (without interest) to our national debt in the next 10 years."

HR1388 Passes House | Mandatory Volunteerism

http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/2009/03/20/hr1388-m andatory-volunteerism/

“The title of HR 1388 - “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE) - creates an acronym that is entirely more charitable than the reality of the bill, will “force your children into involuntary service to the government,” and points out that numerous critics of the bill agree that HR 1388 does indeed require Americans and their children to volunteer for community service. It will costs each and every American a $3 cash advance apiece in 2010 to implement.

"Nothing wrong with that in principle, but…

“How long and to what extent will service be required? Will people have a choice in where and how they serve, and what period of time the will commit? Bill fears that, based on Mr. Obama’s own history of community organization (he worked with ACORN), people might be assigned to work on projects with objects that are not in concert with what the general public believe to be “public service.”

“Straight from the mouth of the recent pork-laden spending bill, HR 1388 is a spending bill. It promises college education credits for teenagers who volunteer. But Bungalow Bill and any other right-thinking person would question what’s in it for the government. “Will this be more indoctrination for this collective philosophy that has suddenly come out of Washington since January 20?”

Anne
HR 1388 is a resolution not a bill and it has no force of law. In short, big deal. When you get a bill in Congress to make service mandatory, then I'll get concerned.

Audacity-Frauds: Mohammed, Hitler, OBAMA

Dr. Ali Sina, February 8, 2009

“Bold, Arrogant, Megalomaniac, Narcissist, Compulsive Liar and a fraud celebrity, erected by the American Liberal Media and sold to the naïve public as the 44th president of United States of America! Obama with the highest amount of campaign funds in the history of America, had practically bought his way in to the presidency!

“We may wonder how evil men like Hitler and Muhammad fooled so many people to the extent that under their spell they willingly committed the most hideous crimes. Could this happen again? Could, in this day and age, another narcissist deceive millions with his big lies? Sadly, the answer is yes. Human evolution is only technological. Psychologically and emotionally we are still cavemen. It is at this level that people are conned and narcissists operate. Obama’s followers worship him. They act thuggishly towards his critics.

"Even law enforcers, such as sheriffs and prosecutors have agreed with him to abuse their authority and form “Obama Truth Squads.” It is clear the intent is to intimidate h is critics. Does truth need the hand of law? “Yes,” if you ask Hitler, Muhammad and Obama, “no,” if you ask Jesus and Buddha. This is just the beginning. What do Obama’s minions do when he is actually in power? Their cultic mentality and their vicious attacks of his critics can only be likened to that of Muslims, fascists, Nazis, Bolshevists and followers of Jim Jones. This level of fanaticism is unprecedented in American politics.”

Difference between understanding

Difference between understanding historic events and citing facts about historic events?

Citing historic events only requires facts.

Understanding historic events, requires facts, logic and reason.

Liberals do NOT use facts, logic and reason, they use facts (rarely), feelings and intuition, based in future reality rather than current reality.

Part III section 120 (b)(3)(B)"service-learning is a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency."

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c111:4:./temp/~c111LK mGLP:e42459:

Hal, An Example Of Things To Come

My long-time boyfriend was diagnosed with prostate cancer last September. He sought the consultation of doctors at the Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic, Sloane-Kettering, and the Anderson Clinic. Because the cancer was detected early, the doctors recommended a procedure called "High Frequency Ultrasound", which heats the cancerous part of the prostate and kills the cancer cells. The prostate is not removed. Obviously, this was the avenue that we decided would best meet the concerns that we had.

After researching and advising the doctors that the HFU, we were told that the FDA had judged the procedure to be experimental even though it has been used for years in private clinics around the world and had forebade it in the United States. The surgeon at the Anderson Clinic, who is an expert in HFU, informed us that he and his team had a private clinic in Southern Mexico where he would happily perform the procedure.

We traveled there. He had the minimally-invasive procedure. Five days later, we played a round of golf. He has been cancer-free since and our relationship has not suffered, as it may have with radical surgery.

What is the point that I am trying to make? The Federal Govt. is already dictating what procedures can be performed, what medications can be administered, and who is eligible for both.

If you think the system is bad now, wait until pencil pushers in Washington are making life and death decisions for people that they have never met and for whom they have little concern.

Sheesh, the government can't even run an efficient DMV and some people want to turn their healthcare over to them? Amazing.

fun facts for shorts
The bill, H.R. 1388, includes the following:

"(6) Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds."

Shorts, notice the words "mandatory service requirement".

"(7) The need for a public service academy, a 4-year institution that offers a federally funded undergraduate education with a focus on training future public sector leaders."

"Public service academy"? Can we say "indoctrination camp"?

Audacity of Frauds: Part II

Mohammed, Hitler, Obama!
Dr. Ali Sina, February 8, 2009

http://iranpoliticsclub.net/politics/audacity-frauds/index. htm

“It does not take much to see that Obama, like the above conmen is a narcissist and like them, dangerous. There are many obvious clues to those who understand narcissism. One is the fact that he is a serial liar. Some of his lies are big, so big that few doubt them.

“Could anyone in their right mind run for the presidency of the USA if he or she is not an American? This sounds ludicrous and yet, there is cause to believe that Obama may actually be an illegal immigrant and ineligible for the senate, let alone the presidency.

“It is not a secret that I am not an Obama fan. I have gone out of my way to w arn Americans to be wary of this Pied Piper.

“Despite my bias, when I first heard this allegation made by Philip Berg, a lifelong Democrat and a former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania, I dismissed it. The possibility of one person having the audacity to bamboozle an entire country and commit a fraud so colossal just seemed too farfetched.

“However, I know a thing or two about narcissism. I know narcissists have no grasp of reality and as such they can be very audacious. I also know about the magic of the big lie. So I paid attention to what Berg says and hey, he seems to be on to something. Then again, what did Obama have to lose? He may not even have dreamt that he would win. Just running for presidency would have given him fame and recognition, something a narcissist would kill for. But hey, the world is full of suckers and surprise, what started as a prank became a reality.”

And be sure to note the paragraph quoted from Chapter 10 of Mein Kampf.

"OK," you say, "Sweden is the world's socialist wonder."

Yes, I really did conduct a sidewalk survey while Sweetie rested in the RV for the day. I talked to several ladies on the street, lady clerks in a couple of stores, and ladies at the Post Office, and asked where they would go for lunch if they did not have to pay the bill. The more than a dozen votes were almost tied between the Opera Buffet, and the Grand Hotel restaurant.

A well-dressed man in the Grand Hotel said,” In America you have Johnny Cash, Bob Hope, and President Reagan.

In Sweden we have no cash, no hope, and Parliament.”

I don’t know about the medical system, but Dental works fine. One day I needed dental work, dropped them off at the dentist, came back an hour later and paid three times the cost at home, but they were fixed very good.

While talking to students on the campus of Stockholm University, a young man studying for his Ph.D. in economics, said, more than once, “Do you know how lucky you are to live in America.”

"...there is cause to believe that Obama may actually be an illegal immigrant and ineligible for the senate, let alone the presidency."

Yes some believe in the Easter Bunny too. Can Dr. Sina tell us how he thinks Obama was born in Kenya and was then smuggled out of Kenya (days later a birth announcement in two Hawaiian newspapers) and a few weeks later he was in Washington State visiting his mom's relatives? And of course, there is no evidence his mom was ever in Kenya or his dad when Obama was born. Think the Clinton machine would have not have their allies looking at passport files and visa applications and contacts in Kenya to see if any of this was true?

Claiming Obama may be an illegal alien or may not be a natural born citizen makes you look worse than stupid, it makes you look deranged.

"Taitz to FBI: Investigate 'tampering' at Supremes"

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=92393

"Taitz notes that references to the case were erased from the docket of the Supreme Court on Jan. 21, shortly after Obama, the defendant, met with eight of the nine justices behind closed doors.

"It happened just two days before her case was scheduled to be reviewed in conference.

"Secondly, Taitz notes that in her conversation with Justice Antonin Scalia at a book-signing in Los Angeles several weeks ago, he appeared to have no knowledge of the cases that had been submitted.

"She said she mentioned her case and those brought by Cort Wrotnowski, Philip Berg and Leo Donofrio.

"'In the presence of several attorneys, law students and Secret Service agents Justice Scalia kept saying that he didn't know anything, even though all of the plaintiffs have received notification that all of those cases were reviewed by all nine justices,' she said."

And, akagi, you're such an idiot. I've NEVER said he was or was not! ALL I've ever said was that he needs to PROVE HE IS!

Anne, m'dear. Obama's grandmother
claimed at one point to have attended the birth of Obama in Kenya. Since then she has kept her mouth shut. I don't think there's any traction in trying to get the records unsealed, but you'd think a grandmother would know what she's talking about.

No lawyers in medical cases

If the doctor does something stupid that was not correct, that is a crime, and the govt. takes care of it. If the Dr makes a mistake, so what, so did you, that’s most likely why you are there. No lawyer permitted in any medical situation.

If the Airline Pilot makes a mistake, you don’t sue him, you collect on the insurance you bought when you bought your ticket. So the same for medical, the patient buys the malpractice insurance, not the Dr.

Obama and Hitler thinking

“All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.”
— Adolf Hitler

“I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few.”
— Adolf Hitler

“He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.”
— Adolf Hitler

“The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category.”
— Adolf Hitler

“Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.”
— Adolf Hitler

(For the sake of accuracy, it should be noted that a version of this quote first originated with Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister. In this particular quote, Hitler was paraphrasing him.)

Now a quiz:

A. “…our individual salvation depends on collective salvation. Because thinking only about yourself, fulfilling your immediate wants and needs, betrays a poverty of ambition.”

B. “Our nation can achieve permanent health only from within on the basis of the principle: The common interest before self-interest.”

Who made these quotes?
