Poll
Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

Anyone following the recount has no doubt heard the bluster and bravado regularly coming from the Al Franken campaign. However, in recent days, Franken and his Washington legal team have seemed awfully desperate for a campaign that is trying to convince people they are winning. They have now tried to shove Al Franken onto the Senate floor through three separate venues – only be to be rebuffed and delayed because their effort clearly violates Minnesota law.

Why, if they claim to have a lead, are they so desperately anxious to put Al Franken in a Senate seat?

Simple: They know Norm Coleman is going to win the election contest. And here’s why:

Norm Coleman won on election night and he continued to lead throughout the administrative canvassing process that followed. In the next stage – the administrative recount – Minnesota law restricted what the state Canvassing Board could consider, and in the end the Board certified numbers that are premature, inaccurate and not valid.

Minnesota election law specifically leaves these and other unresolved issues for the contest phase, which is just getting underway and will be tried before a three-judge panel at the end of January. During that contest, Al Franken’s lead will disappear and Norm Coleman will be declared the winner when the following errors are corrected.

First is the issue of wrongly rejected absentee ballots. In the election some 12,000 absentee ballots were rejected – thousands of which were improperly rejected. During the recount, the only improperly rejected absentee ballots that were counted came overwhelmingly from Democrat areas – which skewed the results exponentially in Franken’s favor. The reality is that inconsistent standards were applied in different locations throughout the state – meaning that certain types of ballots that were counted from Franken areas were left uncounted in Coleman areas. When a consistent standard is applied – and ballots still uncounted in Coleman areas come in – Norm Coleman will gain far greater votes than Franken.

Secondly, and perhaps most alarming, is the fact that at least 150 ballots – mostly from precincts in heavily-Democratic Minneapolis – were double-counted during the recount. The double-counting of these votes netted Franken over 100 votes. The State Canvassing Board conducting the recount acknowledged this was likely an occurrence – as did local election officials in Minneapolis – and said this needed to be examined in a contest. Simply put, many precincts have more votes than voters. This clearly violates the Constitutional right of “one person, one vote – and when this] problem is rectified Al Franken’s margin will drop even further.

Third, in one Minneapolis precinct, 133 allegedly “missing ballots supposedly tallied on election night but which were never found during the recount process were counted, which again inflated Franken’s totals by over 40 votes. Rather than following Minnesota precedent and law by tallying only the ballots that were actually counted, the board reverted to election night tapes. However, these ballots may very well have never existed – and the contest will provide a forum to ensure Franken doesn’t benefit from votes that never actually took place.

Fourth, “newly discovered ballots, which appeared for the first time during the recount, were never counted on election night but which were included in the canvassing board’s totals. So, rather than sticking with election night totals like they did in the aforementioned Minneapolis precinct, they counted these ballots – again greatly benefitting Franken’s totals.

The discovery phase for the election contest, which will begin the last week of January and will be heard before a three-judge panel, has reportedly already started. It will likely include the opportunity to put election officials under oath for the first time and will provide the opportunity to actually investigate these errors and get it right.

The reality is Franken’s desperate ploy to get himself seated on the basis of Canvassing Board numbers Minnesota law, the Supreme Court, the Canvassing Board and even Franken’s campaign acknowledge to be inaccurate indicate Franken’s realization that his high water mark has come and gone. Reality is setting in, and the facts will show that Norm Coleman will, in due time, be seated as Minnesota's United States Senator.

About The Author
Golly, I hope you right....
Best article I have read regarding the recount. Thank you.

from your lips...
...to God's ears.

I Am Not a Fan of Norm Coleman, But...
Al Frankenstein is a corrupt idiot. Watching the Democrats "invent" votes during the last few weeks has been like watching a "Third" World country's actions during an election. The Democrats have found votes for Frankenstein in every location except the ladies room at the McDonald's.

If, by some unlikely event, Frankenstein is declared the winner of this election, the people of Minnesota should rise up and re-take their state government from a gang of crooks, thieves, and thugs called the Democrat Party.

About the Author

For those of you who don't know, the author is the chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota.

Al Franken is a looser in every way.
Thank you for giving us facts.

Maybe there is justice in the world
It would be good to see evil thwarted.

People who do not know how to spell are losers.

Ron Carey

Chaos
is what you have when you do not have accountability. Meaning Al Franken and the MN canvassing board should receive prison sentences for voter fraud and have all of their rights revoked (as is the case with all felons). Then apply the same constitutionality to all of Congress starting with Nanci (Marie Antionette)Pelosi, Harry (do as your told) Reid, Chris(it's too much regulation that did it) Dodd, Barney (Banking Queen) Frank, John (Hang the Marines) Murtha, Tim (what taxes) Geithner and the rest of the two bit thugs in Washington!! When are people going to wake up to this charade? The lack in the level of common sense in D.C. is directly proportional to the number of Ivey league degrees. Now get back to work! Millions of illegal immigrants on welfare are depending on YOU.

Hope so
I understand that Mr. Carey is less than impartial, but for the sake of the people of Minnesota and whatever dignity remains in the Senate, I hope he's right.

About Time
It is long past due that the republicans actually fight for their rights. Previously repubs just sat back and did nothing. This time, the repubs need to use every single tool available to maintain this seat which is theirs. Franken should not be allowed to steal the seat. There are just too many inconsistencies in the way the votes were counted, found, and frankly produced. This does need an investigation and if every single vote needs to be inspected, so be it...the entire election process in this state is mired in fraud and corruption...how can you have more votes for a candidate than people living there? votes found in trunks? this is all another indication of an election process fraught with corruption...txpoljldy

Minn voting...
And thought political mischief only took place in places like Illonois and Florida...come on Min, not you nice guys from 1000 lakes or perhaps there are more or less, oh I don't know ...lets have a vote.

Why Norm Coleman will win
Great article, but I thought I was reading about the Florida recount. These are the same stunts the democrats tried on Bush in Florida. They want a recount alright, but only in the heavily democratic districts. Thats when the new votes appear, you know the ones that were lost or the computer forgot to count. I guess that Acorn organization is alive and well in Minnesota. On top of all this how does anyone vote for a clown like Al Franken.

Missing and newly discovered ballots
Missing and newly discovered ballots are almost as good as rejects and disputed rejects. We can only hope that the three judge panel puts the election officials under oath. Standards are the keys to any recount. Established standards must remain the same no matter where the rejected ballots are counted. Changing the rules of the game should be investigated as to why some ballots were allowed to be counted based on the established standards and some weren't. How missing and newly discovered ballots even counted as valid votes at all. It seems the Canvassing Board attitude was lets just get it counted and Coleman can take it to count to get it straightened out. Recounts are good for a close race, but it's important to have everyone on the same page, eliminate the confusion, work out the standards before hand and abide by them. and not look like everyone is running around with their heads cut off.

Election
I hope the author is correct.

Of all the stupidity
"Simply put, many precincts have more votes than voters."

No. Wrong. Idiot.

Fox News tell you this?

Al Franken
The Minnesota ballets turned up in some suspect places. Read it at, http://stopthepresses2.blogspot.com/2008/12/minnesota-sena te-race-ballot-found-on.html

I only want Coleman to win....
IF, and only if, the RINOs and he both pledge to bring back limited constitutional government.
Otherwise, let that joke have it so that he can help to demonstrate the ineptitude of the same tired old failed liberalism that has been choking our country slowly for over 75 years.

OBummer has promised it, and for now, it doesn't look like many have the stones to oppose him. Bring on Frankenfraud!

my two cents
I hope this guy is right and that Coleman wins.

I leave the pontificating to more qualified pontificaters

elections
In the future the new socalist will just declare the winner and use the military to back it up welcome to communism america !

my two cents
not to mention the fact that Minnesota likes to elect idiots - Jesse Ventura and now this clown Al Franken.

I don't know
Dingy Harry Reid says that Norm Coleman will never ever be a senator again. You see like pelosi and Clueless O, Dinge is above the law and could care less what it says. The goal of these three is to shred the Constitution, you see they are part of the we hate the U. S. A. crowd.

John M Cain
"Don Juan...
do your parents know that you are a homo?"

Of course they do. Homo-sapiens beget Homo-sapiens.

I'm guessing your parents know you are Austrailo? It will take you millions of years to catch up to Don Juan's family... if you're lucky.

It's not just the GOP who are "losers"
It's conservatives.

The country rejected republican AND conservative candidates this time around and went with change.

Conservatives always promise fiscal responsibility.... and end up delivering it exactly like the democrats do.

Keep the Faith People !

Heather and “Keep The Change” need to “Keep The Faith”

Al Franken would be a bigger joke than Barney Frank!

I agree with Patrick and the Gray Ghost!

BTW... I'm A “Reagan Democrat”

Voter Intent
The recount shenanigans will continue until rules are applied which eliminate attempts to ascertain the voter's intent when there's an undervote or overvote. An undervote, where the voter chooses none of the candidates for an office, is NOT a vote. An overvote, where the voter chooses more than one candidate for office, is NOT a vote.

Disgruntled Democrats like to claim that the 2000 presidential election was stolen because the US Supreme court stopped the recount and selected Bush as president. The truth is that all of the legitimate votes had been counted leaving only undervotes and overvotes. The recount was stopped because there were no consistent rules between the counties for divining voter intent in the absence of a legitimate vote. Also, Gore's campaign had requested recounts only in the counties in which he expected to realize a gain in votes. The Supremes rejected this tactic on the grounds that it was unequal protection under the law.

Anyone who argues for allowing some poll worker to use his powers of clairvoyence to determine voter intent in the case of undervotes or overvotes DOES NOT believe in a fair and impartial vote count.

Fraud multiplied
As long as we have mail-in votes, electronic voting machines and all the other idiotic punch-card systems and ACORN, the democrats will continue to win elections. Especially the close ones where fraud is easier. Paper ballots and hand counts are the only way, no matter how long it takes.
For the record, I'm the one who handles the voting machines in my state. No one uses it. I help make out provisional ballots to occupy my time. Most of the accusations come from democrats, but most of the fraud comes from the democrats, and that's from the msm reports!

Fraudulent voting
being an attempt to overthrow the legitimately-elected government, is TREASON, and the fraud voters should be shot!!!

Not so fast
Find a vote here, double count there, reject that which could favor your opposition has precedent in Democrat election policy. If Minnesota Democrats followed their standard of counting the votes over and over finding a few each time along the way until their candidate wins, then it is settled, Franken wins.

And if all that isn't enough to make your blood boil, Harry Reid says he will not accept Coleman even if he is successful in contesting this charade. So you see, Dems will do what they want; they won't let a silly thing like the law, election results or the people's choice interfere.

Calm down Handsome Son!
Current crop of Repubs. in senate truly have no spine. They are the "old-line" and are being replaced. They had garnered their positions through accomodation to the liberal swamp that is D.C., and felt their "sinecure" to remain was predicated upon their passivity and go-along-to-get-along attitude. Times are a-changing. The means of transformation for our government are at hand. We, (you, I, everyone else using new technology) needn't depend upon the gatekeepers of either the Dem. or Repub. parties any longer. We the people utilizing methods such as the one I'm now expounding with can and must decide who and what type individuals will represent us. This is the revolution I foresee. The age and corrupt/laziness/slovenlyness of old media is over. We the people have the duty and obligation to take our nation back. It is just beginning.

Moral Relativists
Keep in mind that liberals are usually moral relativists. That is to say, nothing is ever wrong per se, if they can make it work "for the better good".

Incredulous
I wish I had your optimism, however I agree with Hansome Son. Where are these new firebrands? And when one comes up they are pounced on like a mouse that wandered into a group of feral cats. Remember Sarah Palin? Why do all these liberal scum keep posting here? Is huffington post to hard to spell?

Election
I hate to burst everyones bubble, but the democrates will not allow Norm Colemen to win. They have spent the last eight years (after Bush Florida) to sure up any hint of an honest election that they, and will, control. ACORN and the George Soros crowd will do what ever it takes to win (actually steal) an election.

Here it comes
Wait for it.

will in ca.
It's conservatives.

The country rejected republican AND conservative candidates this time around and went with change.

Conservatives always promise fiscal responsibility.... and end up delivering it exactly like the democrats do
this is the first time i have to actually agree with you
and i am proud of you for not trying to find a way to work your "gay" analogie into your post
kudos

WHY NOT FRANKEN?
So what if Franken wins? One more comedian in the Senate will not make much difference. As I see it if the Dems have a Veto proof majority their wiggle room is gone. That would put Scary Harry, and the rest of the comedians, in a position where the Repubs are isolated from any responsibility.

How programs like Countdown, i.e. the “Enquirer” of cable TV, would handle commenting on Dems with their feet held to the fire would be great entertainment. For my money watching the twits hang themselves would be comedy at it’s best.

moebellini, please
Calling Frankin a clown is an insult to clowns.

I like Carey's faith
in the corrupt Minnesota courts, but I agree that Coleman will not win. This is probably the only state in the union where Franken could have garnered more than a few kook votes.

Remember, this is the socialist home of HHH, where the Democrats are not just Democrats but the Democrat Farm Labor party which is a merger the Democrats like, that between the urban socialists and the Farm Labor socialists. An interesting summary is provided at
http://www.geocities.com/mnsocialist/flp.html

Who cares if he wins?
He's a dismal Republican.

WHY AL FRANKEN SHOULD WIN

.....The State Bird of MN is the LOON .....COLOSSUS

Sorry, gotta disagree - -
When you have a guy who was largely responsible for pardoning uber-crook Mark Rich going to be OK'd as Attorney General, and a totally irresponsible jerk who seems unable to do his taxes (for Several Years, and THEN pays only what he pressed for) - - an Illinois governor virtually auctioning off a US Senate seat, and a corrupt Minnesota bunch insisting that the venomous Al Franken's a "winner"???
Add the inept/gutless Republicans sitting on the sidelines, picking their noses....
Nope, Franken, buy Hook-or-by-Crook, and shear stupidity, 'cause the Demented Democrat corruption, and insipid Republican cowardly clowns not having a clue how to stand-up to thieves - - - and they won't even raise their voices... betcha.

Even if Coleman is deemeed the winner
the Senate will refuse to seat him. They will declare Franken the winner

Election Stealing 101
Lets face it, Franken has already won. Even when he loses (in the courts) he still wins. That is because Harry Reid and the corrupt Dimmicraps decide who actually gets seated in the Senate (see US Constitution). Unless Coleman clearly wins, he loses.

Plus, should Coleman actually prevail, rebuffed Dimmicraps have no qualms about claiming that the election they tried to steal was stolen from them. (Florida, 2000).

Should Coleman continue? Absolutely, because the American people (except those in Massachusetts and few other states) are not stupid. Franken's victory may well turn out to be a pyrric one.

A very similar scenario to this was just played out in the U.S. Senate...ala Sen. Burris. Harry Reid is still wiping the egg off his face for that fiasco. I really doubt he is going to try again if Coleman wins. The fact is that the Senate can't dictate to the states whom they are allowed to elect to the Senate.

The Senator-elect is?
It’s rather sad when the voting public has so many flawed, corrupt political candidates to choose from, no honest fair-minded people, who only want to do what is right for the Country, and not what’s best for a political party or ones own stock portfolio. I am not a fan of Coleman, he’s just another RINO, but I could never fandom why anyone would even contemplate voting for a former SNL comedian who was never funny, a failed liberal radio show host or a person who knows nothing about the economy, energy or knows how to fix it. I want rather see Paris Hilton as Senator before I’d ever want to see him and I would never, ever want to see her as a Senator.

I met Mr. Franken once, by pure accident and I listened to some of what he was talking about to another, far more saner, likeable celebrity, the man gave him an ear to be polite most likely, seemed to be listening and once Franken was done, never said a word, turned around and left shaking his head. Franken looked at me and said, well that was rude. I responded maybe he felt that if he commented on your diatribe he wouldn’t be able to remain civil, considered your self lucky that he only turned around and left without a response. He then said who asked you, you stupid b*tch. I said you did and you know what, for the first time you finally said something funny. This was way before he dipped his toes into national politics; this took place in 2000 for a book launch. He was a truly despised by most of the people there. He seemed desperate to try to find someone who would talk with him.

I’ve met numerous celebrities, some are truly nice, others are full of themselves and some were just egomaniacal, self important and/or self indulgent buffoons. Guess which category Mr. Franken falls into?

"Ron Carey is a sociopath"

Don Juan's feverish hatred makes him, like many of his fellow liberal hate-mongers, delusional.

I got cut off
I was trying to write something here and got cut off in mid-thought.

What I was saying was, I wish some of you conservative big hitters with capitol and connections would get out there and stick up for Norm. Instead, you guys are content to sit around on the side lines and let the best man win. Al Franken, is not the best man. He has shown what kind of a man he is by all he has done to in an attempt to get elected. He should be disqualified cause of simple bad sportsman like conduct.

That will never happen. The only thing he understands is a big powerful conservative force rising up to slam him back down where he came from.

But, no, you big guys just keep writing and earning millions of dollars with your words and let the best man win.

coleman will win!
franken,is a wierd dude!

whoever finally wins
We should remember that this election was very, very close and not as if either Coleman or Franken has a mandate.

Follow the Law
Harry Reid is not an emperor or King of the Senate, same goes for Nancy Pelosi, she is not a serene highness or Queen of the House. These lawmakers (and I used the term loosely) are required to uphold the laws of our Nation and to follow and protect the Constitution of the United States. Like the outcome of the Blagojevich/Burris situation, Harry Reid needs to allow the state to follow the state’s Constitution and allow the Secretary of States verify the results and its Governor sign to representative to the US Congress. Then he needs to follow the US Constitution.

He cannot pick and choose which candidates should be seated in the Senate the public does, then the results need to be confirmed by the state’s Secretary of States to verify the results, once verified the Governor signs off. It’s not that hard to understand.

Roland Burris was appointed by a really flawed, corrupt politician and because he’s own party refused to hold a special election to allow the voters to choose for fear of putting the seat in the hands of the Republicans. Their inaction to remove Blagojevich still allows him to appoint, sign in new laws, all the responsibilities that a governor holds. I’m not happy with how Mr. Burris gained his seat, and there are a lot of questions regarding his donation of $15,000 to the Friends for Blagojevich campaign or the outstanding loan of 1.2 million he received from the Democrats to run for office in 2002, the loans still remains opened on their books. But, we need to follow the laws and statutes and allow him his “appointed seat, and if Mr. Reid is unhappy, he needs to look at his own party for blame.

If the MN Secretary of State verifies the recount results, which he hasn’t, and the result show fraud was evident, those who committed the fraud should be tried, since it’s a law. As long as money and power exist in our politicians, corruption will always be present.

Frost, You're Right--
Idiot Tim Pawlenty, A moderate RINO should never allowed this fraud.

Republicans should know by now that the Dems are corrupt and will continue to steal elections. The ACORN/Soros lawyers go from state to state helping steal elections: Washington State where Gregoire actually lost to Rossi but ended up "winning", Missouri where McCaskill "won" her Senate seat. The Democrat Party corruption goes back many years--even before JFK stole the presidency in 1960 with the help of the Chicago machine.

Your hatred continues
Ahh, I really enjoy how the libs come to this site and so clearly and consistently demonstrate the4ir hatefulness!

The level of discussion is so elevated
here. "ALL Dems are idiots and liars." "All Republicans are heartless Bush-lovers"

How about we let the process work itself out and see who wins? Then we can all agree to wish that person well.

The best and brightest stay out!
Prime example whey the true talent and intellect of our nation stay out of politics.

Who in their right mind would vote for Al Fraken anyway.

To IrisheyestoC
Note that Blago was not flawed and corrupt when he was re-elected in '06. Does anyone from Ill. have quotes/endorsements pertaining to the 2006 gubenatorial race in Illinois? I wander how much support he garnered from Obama, Durbin, Daley and the like! If he really is mental it speaks volumes for the nation going forward under Ill Dim control...

Let me guess: "Thats not the Blagojevich I knew or remember!" "This happened all of the sudden!" "The Bush economy is to blame."

Now back to Minnesota, I present to Airhead America Senator Stuart Small, er Al "I'll pay my taxes right after filtching Boys club money" Franken.

I Can't wait for trickle up economics, they tried that after Katrina, invest in your local Strip joints, are we allowed to invest in the crack market, yet?

PA-thetic

Carey, I hope you are right
for the sake of the nation. I can't believe that anyone would vote for Franken. Are there that many nuts in Minn? It's going to be a tough 4 years in any case. Good summary of the Minn issues. Isn't it interesting these days how people seem to be so nonchalant about others breaking or ignoring the law.

Frankenstein
ACORN fell down on their job in Minnesota. They were supposed to assure Coleman would not even be close.

As cold as it is in Minnesota, their brains are not frozen,so it is a sure bet the voters did not choose the little ogre.

Even with votes counted twice and ballots found in the trunk of a car,he still could not best Coleman. Not yet, anyhow.

I wonder how many races ACORN had a hand in winning for the Dems.Starting with Obama. It is a sad fact that Democrats cheat even when it is unnecessary.

An Apology
As a conservative in MN I would like to apologize to the country for living in a state that would even make Franken a viable candidate.

Just a note to people around the country about Minneapolis/St Paul where a lot of this support comes from.

a) The Chicago machine that Obama comes from manufactures a lot of uneducated deadbeats. These Chicagoans come back and forth to Minneapolis/ST Paul to gather more freebies as they run out in the other state or to escape the law/landlords/debt collectors. You can thank Obama and his buddies for many of these creeps.

b) Senator Wellstone out and out made a play for Hmong refugees to come to St. Paul. (See movie Gran Torino that was suppose to be MPLS). Add in the Somali refugee that were solicited to come here (We had a suicide bomber from here in Somalia the other day...Yeah)

Add all these people who owe themsleves to the democratic party to your garden variety socialists and Iron Rangers who reflexively vote democrat that were always here and you get where Franken's 42% comes from.

I really need to leave this mess before it gets worse and it is an embarrassment what this place (Minneapolis/ST. Paul) has come to be.

Coleman vs. Franken
Has anyone told Harry Reid????'Corrupter-in-chief!

Reginald
We are rapidly losing our sovereignty because of instances such as you state. With a president-elect who has not yet proven his birthright,it won't get any better, soon.

Congress won't do anything
I'm not waiting for congress to do anything. They're still waiting for "the best man" to come out on top. There are people in this country who are conservative and have money and connections (or so they boast). These people should engage in the battle for this country.

Right now, they are comfortable writing their opinions. Well, I'm tired of listening to all that. All they do is write. They do nothing other than write.

Can't they do something in addition to writing? Can't they organize the majority to not only vote but to get involved in community to push the loud mouth libs back into their closets?

Ooooh... I just found another 300 votes
in the trunk of my wife's car. Gotta get 'em to DFL HQ!

Do you ever watch the shows
like Jerry Springer and such that feature the dregs of society as "guests"? I read somewhere that almost 50% of these goofballs come from Michigan although there are 50 states full of entertaining people...

Are we sure that Franken has no Michigan conneciton?

Only Fox?
For those fools who scream, Only Fox, this is the quote from the Wall Street Journal reporting the fact there are more ballots than voters in over 25 precincts. Our process has become so crazy with questionable organizations registering voters and a blanket refusal by the Secretary of State, Mark Ritchie, to investigate possible voting fraud, we have to get a commission to look into the problems.
"Officials are supposed to mark these as "duplicate" and segregate the original ballots. But it appears some officials may have failed to mark ballots as duplicates, which are now being counted in addition to the originals. This helps explain why more than 25 precincts now have more ballots than voters who signed in to vote."
Wall Street Journal January, 5th 2009

Brett from MN
Said "...For those fools who scream, Only Fox, this is the quote from the Wall Street Journal reporting the fact there are more ballots than voters...

Just so you know Brett, the WSJ leans conservative/republican, whatever you want to call it. Furthermore, the person who wrote this article is a nitwit. The reason Franken is trying repeatedly to get seated is because he was declared the winner. I guess it's convenient to forget that. This thing is only being dragged out by the Coleman camp. I guess good 'ol Norm can't accept the fact that he lost to a grown man who once took a picture dressed like a baby; diaper, bottle and all.

Franken probably won
If Al Franken got ONE more vote than Norm Coleman, he will be confirmed as the Senator from Minnesota. It looks like he got a few more than the one he needed, so Senator Franken it is!

Dan
The author of the article directly answers your claim that Franken wants to press to be seated now. If they have concluded that the court decision could restore Coleman to the lead they need to place obstacles in their way like public perception.

They are trying to get *******s like you who don't believe in following the MN state law to try and intimidate others seeking a fair day in court and seat your sub-human Franken. This is how they got every decision to go to Franken so far. The idea that something "happened" to deny Franken the win.

Buster
Buster: It looks like he got a few more than the one he needed, so Senator Franken it is!

It sure didn't look like Franken won. He never lead till many pro-Franken decisions.

You don't live here Buster so you really don't know what you are talking about. You aren't familiar with the areas that gave Franken the EXTRA votes AFTER the election.

It will be Franken
The only way Sen. Coleman could win is in a runoff vote between himself and Mr. Franken. Sen. Coleman would win 56% to 44%. However they will not have a runoff and Mr. Franken wins by the result of the recount. It will be Sen. Franken which only the Democrats and Liberals support. The 56% representing the Republicans and Independents will just have to get use to it as long as the Independents and some Republicans think voting for a third party candidate in a national election is productive. When this happens the Democrats could run anybody or anything and get there object elected. Third party candidate with the state can get elected, ei, Jesse but never on the National level. All ties and close go to the Democrats.

I am a native of Minnesota and have been voting here for 49 years. It will be Sen. Franken barf, barf for most of those years. We deserve our lutefisk. Uff Da

A refreshing show of spirit
Some leftist writes, re. Gov. Palin: "She has shown that she is Miss Teen South Carolina, all grow'd up. Pure helium in the cranium."

It's refreshing to see a leftist combine the anti-Southern bigotry that is such a staple of their humor with some good old-fashioned sexism. Bravo!

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA
Did I hear the same thing a few months ago? McShame was going to win and Barack was sweating? What a wonderful day. The first family just arrived in Washington DC

Idiots for Franken
Democrats seem to think they are fooling someone when they pull their electoral hijinks but the only ones they fool are themselves and brainless judges (who most likely have a 'D' after their names.)
How do you know when a Democrat is lying? their lips are moving.
Franken might just pull this off. They stole the Washington state election the same way they want to steal this one.
Every vote counts, until the total shows a Democrat ahead, then it's time to stop counting and declare them the winner.

McFU
Tinya,
McShame? Are you seriously still using that? How is 9th grade going?

Coleman will win by Jeffrey Schrembs
Enough.
Enough with the Democrats, Liberals, Communists, ILLEGAL Aliens, and ACORN STEALING Elections.
Enough with the "well, this is how Politics is these days".
Enough with the "well, the Democrats are already in control so what's wrong with one more"?
Enough with the Liberal BIASED Press now saying that since Obama will not "call" on them, during press conferences, they have resigned themselves to not put their hands up. They have "given up".
Enough with the mentality that "nothing matters".
Enough with the "I am only one person and I can't do anything" mindset.
American Citizens, Republicians, Conservatives, Christians, and anyone else start STANDING UP for what is RIGHT! Start standing up for American Citizens! Start DEMANDING excellence from Politicians. Start DEMANDING that American Citizens go to the FRONT OF THE LINE and Lobbyists go to the back with ILLEGALS going way back...to their Country...NOW!
2009. Let's take BACK our Country.
Enough said.

Seating who they want
For those who believe the US Senate and House cannot do pretty much whatever they please regarding telling the states who to send up, I refer you to precedent...Article 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. What they have done once they can do again...all it takes is changing a few words.

Our new President has said he intends to re-write our Declaration of Independence [see Drudge] so a word change here, a word change there by the Senate should be no problem.

Washington State...
Now THERE is a paragon of virtue amongst those states conducting fair and just elections...a model of excellence...pure as the driven snow...yada, yada, yada.

They REALLY know how to be modern. Yeah, right.

For the slower witted liberals amongst us, this post was purest satire.

Hope & Change
Democrats cheating in elections is nothing new. Truth be told, stealing elections has become a democrat artform honed over the last several decades. The difference this time around is how sloppy the Minnesota libs were in attempting to orchestrate this obvious theft. Democrat voters ought to be embarassed at how lackluster this effort to defraud the voters really was; not because voters were blatantly defrauded, but rather that it was done so shabbily. Democrats don't mind a shyster, just so long as he's smooth at it.
I guess they figure republicans are so demoralized that they would just step ought of the way and let the libs have this senate seat they obviously want so badly, and who can blame them? It appears that every republican in Washington only wishes that they could have lost even more; so as to make the way easier for the incoming messiah.
So whether or not Coleman is at least a somewhat competent fellow while Franken is an unfunny joke is inconsequential. Whatever the people voted on likely won't matter either-i'm sorry, I think they're still going steal the election. But even if they do, an honest democrat voter shouldn't grant them any style points for it.

Regardless,
Harry Pelosi, said Coleman, "will never serve in the Senate again, period". So, you see, all "this and that" is just a hypothetical exercise, the "brightest bulb" in the chandelier has already made his declaration. Making the recount, and court review as useless as a turd in a swimming pool. Or is it Mr. Pelosi, who is the "turd". Leftists and turds, who can tell one from the other.

Mr. H. Rearden,
obviously the Florida sunshine agrees with you, sir. Your "analysis" is spot on. The American hating, Democracy Alliance, who bought that thing called, the democrat party, a few years back, really must be ashamed that their billions cannot produce a smoother thief. Soros, and the other four billionaires, are going to have to take their hand picked American hating Sec. of State, their boy, "Richie", to the woodshed. Lets, "buck up, Richie boy", when we spend $500M per year to advance our leftists agenda, we expect it to get done, "ya' folla', Richie boy"!!

Someone From MN Please Reply
I'm a Betsy-Tacy fan (you guys wouldn't understand). Read all the books which are set in Minnesota.

I've always loved to read about that state and wanted to visit.

How did someone like Al Franken get 42% of the vote?

I've heard that George Soros and his millions backed the third party candidate in order to mess up the election (siphon off votes from Coleman).

Even diehard Democrats must have almost vomited to push the lever for Franken.

"Tinya" is that short
for "lackey" in californication?

Too many turkeys here who are arguing
who is in what party and who owns what newspaper instead of responding to the debate. The liberals come here and ruin debates because they refuse to argue facts.

You can get over 37,000 hits on the news that there are more votes than voters in about 25 precincts (or counties). Tell me that they are all by Republican writers and/or conservative papers.

Let's see - we had an official in Florida castigated for certifying an election as required by law but not participating in any way, and that was a problem. Here we have an official who _participates_ in a recount saying that the member of his party is now the winner and that is NOT a problem. Liberals are generally evil people who ignore their oaths to the various Constitutions and circumvent rule of law. A pox on them all.

only in America
This Is probably the most blatant act of dishonesty I have ever seen. Elected officials openly steering this boob to a Senate seat boggles the mind.

3 stooges
on a more humorous note, i would like to nominate Al Franken, Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann to be the next Three Stooges, they fit the bill perfectly. And, they like each other. Michael Moore could be their producer and director. We need more humor in our lives.

Rich D.
First of all, I appreciate you calling people "turkeys"; it's a hilarious generalization which is underutilized these days. I gotta tell you though, bro, arguing the truth with liberals is like herding cats; like teaching a pig to sing; like p_$$ing up a rope; like nailing jello to a wall; like wallpapering fog...In other words, liberals do not care about the truth, period. If the day before the election, Obama were caught brandishing a dagger while standing over a body whose throat had just been cut, the drive-by media would have called him a hero for trying to save the person's life by perfoming emergency surgery. Saddly, they would have concluded, he failed because republicans blocked that person's healthcare, and lib voters would have lapped it up...and then blamed Bush.

johnsnare
That gubenatorial race in Washington a few years back is on a par with this. It's just that this is national.

Hank
We need a bumper-sticker/subway and bus poster ad campaign that read:

If you don't know the difference between a Republic and a Democracy, DON'T VOTE!

Not funny, but
this all makes me wish we had shown more appreciation or his...uh..."comedy" acts.

Rich D
Dude we're far away from that. At this point I would be satisfied with 'only people who are alive can vote, and only once'.
I know that's a tough sell in democrat circles, but it's a start.
The difference between a republic and a democracy? For people that watch the view? Pardon my cynacism, but I'm not sure these folks are aware of their shadow, much less the origin of this great republic, whatever that is.

bittersweet irony
In an odd sort of way, the republicans deserve this. In the last two elections, instead of upholding the conservative virtues which got them elected, they've basically ran the Stuart Smalley campaign; they've looked in the mirror, and said to themselves out-loud, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggonit, people like me."

Keith Olbermann
I dont think his IQ allows him to be a stooge, whether he is too smart or too dumb is irrevelant he doesn't have the ability to see how flat out stupid he is. Yes Stupid, not ignorant which can be fixed. This is also the illness of Al Franken and those who voted for him and Clueless O.

Not Frankenstein (he had more class)...
but rather Franken-clown.

Send him back to Air-America. Oh, can't - he already robbed and trashed that lying propaganda enterprise, stealing from kids in the process. Hopefully MN will be spared the same treatment.

Without the dhimmi criminals in the MN political establishment, in an honest election, Coleman probably won by several thousand.

Three simple solutions
1. Educate voters on how to fill out voting ballots. 2. Follow election laws of the state. 3. Eliminate voter intent practices.

Hey Ron, when are we getting Voter ID ?
This would not have happened if we had voter ID in this state. I've spoken to Republican state senators and most agree that we can't get this legislation pushed through. It seems that as our MN Republican Chairman, YOU need to push this through or at least make it a ballot issue.

For all of you who are wondering about the idiots in MN who voted for Franken...imagine living next door to some of them.

Our party, and Norm's campaign, did a poor job of educating people about Franken and just WHO he was.

To Lynnie
Your state neighbor is just as corrupt - the majority of its citizens want VoterPhoto ID, but our Democrat governor has VETOED it THREE times!

Let the legal process work ?

If a poster, who calls himself “Don Juan” can't get excited about Sara Palin, he must be a little “Light in the Loafers.”

Of course it follows that he and some of the other Liberal twits would be pushing for Foul-Mouth Franken, to represent ANY state?

BTW... If the three judge panel rules that Liberal Democrats cheated and gives the election to Coleman, then he will be seated by the Senate, because the Supreme Court will force the Senate to abide by the “Will of the People” of Minnesota, AND The Supreme Court's Interpretation of the Constitution, AFTER fellow judges rule in Coleman's favor! (a little Judicial Humor). Irisheyes2C pretty much summed up Franken and Bob Doyle pretty much summed up Don Juan. Personally, I think Hank Rearden 8:41 PM EST made the critical point, “Liberals do not care about the truth.” (The Obama ref. was a good one).

Michael W. (Reagan Democrat)

we'll see
this article seems to be largely a rehash of a flawed wsj editorial. but i say let coleman have his day in court. this election was close. it was basically a tie.
but can someone please promise me that if coleman does win, we can put a moratorium to all the whining about "stolen elections"?

Mr. Carey's prediction
Everything will probably be over by February 20th. When it is over I hope Ron will write a column explaining what happened. I think Al Franken will be in his Senate office before March. If this happens it will be interesting to see what Ron has to say about this situation.

What's up with MN
Coleman is a RINO and I am not medically qualified to say what disturbances Franken suffers from.

My question is:"Why do the people of MN have a 1950's balloting system?"

We had voting machines in old backward VA when I started voting in 1967!

As a conservative...
As a conservative, I shudder at the thought of an Al Franken victory. And although I would not be unhappy with a Coleman win, I think the only way to settle this thing fairly would be a re-vote. Unless that happens, the losing side will always accuse the winning side of cheating or stealing the election.

Why doesn't MN just do what most states do and have a run-off election????

Sgt Relic What's up with MN
With that system it is easier to know how many ACORNS are in the jar
We also in Louisiana have had voting machines since the 60s

will in CA
No one on TH has ever accused you of being the sharpest knife in the drawer, with good reason.

Here, in this nonsensical post, you say Americans "went with change".

Then you turn right around and say that Republicans do the same things that Democrats do.

How does that constitute change, will?

It doesn't - but it does show that a lot of lemmings can be made to vote for an empty suit on the basis of words that have no real meaning in politics, such as "hope" and "change".

The real losers are the citizens of this once great country, who I predict will rue the day they ever voted for Obama.

I rue the day
That Prez Bush stepped into office. Any change towards the Democrats, including Al Franken, is better than any possible trend towards more Reps in office.

Can you imagine how bad Democrats would feel if things were this terrible after eight years of Gore and/or Kerry? What if they had been elected and the economy was as it is now? What about 9-11, the war, Halliburton, worst deficit ever, Abramhoff, sex scandals, outing of covert agents, the environment, unemployment, bailouts...

What if the Democrats also ruled the House and Senate? If things were this bad after the Democrats had total rubber-stamp power, then the Republicans would surely be up in arms over how badly things were mismanaged. There would have to be a change in Washington, and...

I would agree.

Cons, get your collective heads out of your panties and realize that the Republican party squandered what could have been a decisive blow to the Democratic party. You could have been boasting about the gains, but there simply are NONE. NONE to speak of.

Time for someone who is very VERY different than Bush to govern. Time for an honest man (different) and bright man (different) and a more transparent government (different). Time for a change.

So stop your crying, realize that there is nothing to boast about, collect your belongings and step back while some effective people take over.

Enjoy the ride, and be sure to thank the Democratic party when things get better. If things are better in 4 years (although they will need 8 to reverse all of BushCo's disastrous wrongdoings) then pony up and admit they did a better job. Until then, please lick your wounds without so much whimpering... it's getting to be annoying.

In the Majority
Funny how the farther Mr O gets from the Democratic primary and closer Mr O gets to the oval office the more his comments reflect the Bush agenda. Reality sucks.
My favorite recently was how Mr O stated that VP Cheney had some good points and we shouldn't rush into anything based on rhetoric. I think you will find that the weight of the presidency is going to press heavily on Mr O. I wish him the best and hope we don't self destruct.
Franken-Coleman would be solved with a special election

inthemajority
You poor soul! You are in for heartbreak! The closer Mr O got to the Oval Office, the MORE informed he became, hence his Bush and Cheney like stances! You have the triumph of Pelosi, Reid, Richardson, and Al Franken---diaper-boy! Oh yes, this is a "dream team!" Leadership that will foment change! Honest man??? Better not look at his Chicago roots! Bright man? Better not listen when he does NOT have a script in hand! Effective people: Rahm E, noted Chicago pol; then there is the triumph of his Treasury & AG nominees, one doesn't pay his taxes and the other solicits pardons for terrorists and a criminal! Oh yes, transparency! Cabinet members we can trust! You poor soul!

Democrat theft
Democrats have attempted to steal almost every close election in recent history. The 2000 Bush election is one where they tried, and failed, to steal the highest office in the land. Then, of course, they claimed republicans were the thieves.

If you press most hard core liberals enough, they will often admit that lying, cheating, and stealing, is fine, as long as it keeps mean, unfeeling, evil republicans out of office. I have been told this on more than one occasion by my Bush hating friends and coworkers.

Notice how the waters receeding went
quickly to "it will take eight years." Obackoff has retreated form nearly everything he said in the primaries. He is so clueless, he even hires all of the old Clinton criminals and hacks.

The only thing left for the arrogant narcissist is to play Lincoln and FDR. Talk about style over substance.

Of course, the wimpy Republicans are begging for crumbs instead of holding to principles, be we've seen too many years of that already.

Pelosi wants to slap criminal charges on Bush officials, but is perfectly tolerant of her own ethical lapses. Where's Jefferson?

Bob re 2000
They did steal the Senate in 2000 while Al kept us distracted in Florida. Al lost even though Mayor Daley promised he could deliver any election that was within a few hundred votes. Time to wise up America. Washington State did one of those let's keep counting until she wins routines in 2000, came back in '04 to count more votes on the third try than voters, but let it slide. Minnesota, come on.

Yeah push Al through the door....

Please be right
I am desparate to see some truth happen.

Franken makes the Senate look like a really bad SNL joke...actually...the SNL cast would probably be better Senators than the current lot.

Time for term limits.

Ron Carey Missed the Fifth Reason
The fifth reason that Al Franken will not win is that the court will rule in favor of Coleman to avoid putting an obvious embarressment to the people of Minnesota into the Senate. Minnesota deserves better than Franken.

This ruling would be consistent with Obama's desire to have judges that are empathetic to the misery of the people.

(Misery brought on by poor policy from Pelosi and Reid, and a constant "hate America" message from the dim-wits in Hollywood and the Media.)

Steven
Thanks for bringing up the topic of misery.

Read my lips. It's not about spreading the wealth. It is about wealth DESTRUCTION.

Under Bubba's reign the stock market tripled, mostly, because the sound "tax and spend" policies of the 90's was eventually going to bring the deficit to zero.

Under George Bush and the Republican Congress' 'reign of error' the
outstanding national debt has more than doubled in a mere eight years. The stock market has lost 20% of its value due to the Republican mantra of 'cut taxes and spend even more.'

Don't forget, the entire war in Iraq has been financed by sending IOU's to China, UAE, Japan, Singapore, Saudi Arabia to name a few. This is wealth-redistribution from Americans to foreigners, plain and simple. And you can thank the Republicans for this.

DON"T VOTE ?

Wrat Wrangle is right, Ron Jones is an idiot (not because there is not some truth in what he says, but because his solution is DON”T VOTE?)

and with 3:29 min to go, it's going to be Pittsburgh and The Cardinals in the Super Bowl

The Political Min Game is too close to call

zapdoodat
so what you are saying is that we need more debt?

i'm waiting for the facts to materialize before I render judgement. i try not to rely on media for those facts for obvious reasons. all we know now is Government failed!

Lesson: make government smaller. much smaller.

on the minnesota steppes
the population has good sense, and would never elect a buffoon like franken. unfortunately, the "cities" are loaded with morons that will be perfectly happy to be represented by franken. these are the people who for years have been looking down on the rest of the country, telling everyone else how racist they are, supporting ultra-liberal newspapers, and voting for far left loons. the good sense areas of minnesota should join the dakotas, and let "the cities" merge with washington dc. they would be a good fit.

Steven
"so what you are saying is that we need more debt?"

You coward, liar and 'cutter and runner' from core Conservative principle.

Supply-side theory states "the more the government spends, then the more opportunity there is to cut taxes."

Please, in these economically-challenged times, do NOT go LIBERAL.

Before we Bash Bush
Keep these three things in mind as you develop your conclusions of who is to blame:

1) Bush pressed for regulation on Freddie and Fannie in 2001. The Dems in the Senate threatened to fillibuster on the basis of "affordable housing"

2) If spending beyond ones means (people and government) brought about this "crisis", then maybe the wealth generated was not real. Thus there would not have been wealth destruction. Unless, of course, you got out when the market was 12,000 like some of us.

3) These problems were brought about decades ago - 1970s.

a) Land use restriction laws in the 1970s lead to unaffordable housing, which lead to creative ways to make housing affordable.

b) Environmental regulation ran industry off leaving the aspirational to pursue education in finance, which lead to financial engineering, and so on.

Again - cut corporate taxes, accept that climate change is a result of natural causes, (alarmism does not yield good stewardship) and cut government spending in half.

In other words, fear centralized power as much as those that drafted the Constitution did.

This, and only this, well get us back on track.

zapdoodat
not sure I follow.

"The more government spends the more opportunity to cut taxes?

For government spending to work, government must spend on those things that increase technology, education, and population, which are the only things that yield growth.

Wind is the least efficient source of energy. Solar has potential, but up front costs are expensive at the moment.

We are NOT running out of oil and gas.

Spending to fight science fiction is not wise.

Bailing out states that did not exhibit fiscal conservatism does not yield growth.

Bailing out Planned Parenthood does not yield increase in GDP.

Building freeways and bridges, and museums is nothing more than extended unemployment insurance.

For big government spending to work you must invest in something that will yield sufficient growth in GDP so that you can pay off what you borrowed. Government has demonstrated tim and again that they are not capable of making this happen.

steven
Is spending $400 million on a bridge to an island with 30 people cost effective?

Is spending several trillion dollars on a social-engineering project in Iraq cost effective?

Steven
Let's take a look at the USA defending Europe. Below, are a few facts and a question.

-------POPULATION-------GDP------
---EU----500 million---$14 trillion
Russia-150 million-----$2 trillion

Why is the USA spending ten's of billions of dollars every year for the defense of Europe? And defend against who?

zapdoodat
i think we agree and don't know it.

what happened in the past can not be undone. more of the same in the future, which is what Pelosi plans for us, will compound the problem. Pork is the problem, but exists only because DC has been allowed to get so big.

Not sure we spent trillions in Iraq - at least not incrementally. And much of the technology that is developed for military use finds its way into consumer products (better airplanes, vehicles, GPS, communications, etc), which sustains increasing GDP.

Supply side is "pull" economics. Cut taxes, increase consumer spending, and supply is pulled through the economy. Supply side has a better track record than demand side.

BTW -- Saddam modelled his regime after the Third Reich. In fact the rise and fall of Saddam has its roots in the rise and fall of Hitler. We can Monday morning quarterback the Iraq war all we want. However, if getting him out of power, then assuring that Iraq would not fall victim to Iran avoided another Hitler like regime in a place where the world gets 65% of its oil, then I would call that money well spent.

zapdoodat
I don't disagree. We defend the world and pay 100% of the cost and all we get is "***-damn those Americans" in return. And, now the UN wants to re-distribute American wealth to fight science-fiction. I hate this as much as you do. Yet I believe that this is the price we pay for being the most prosperous nation. Protecting our interests, so to speak.

The alternative would worse, I believe. Therefore the benefits justify the costs.

I would like a simple "Thank you" from Europe, though!

zapdoodat
For clarification. Protecting Europe might be a necessary cost of freedom.

The UN re-distribution thing MUST NOT HAPPEN, PERIOD!

All they get is a taste, nothing more.

Russia
I don't trust Russia. They are less of a threat, and might be an ally in the global warming thing. They don't believe in it so they won't destroy their economy to fight science fiction. In fact, they are leading the research that suggests that climate change is natural - nothing Al Gore can do about it.

Yet, their actions in Georgia, and now cutting off gas supplies make me think they are up to something.

Steven
You are a person who would have thought that battleships were the key capital ship to build in the 1930's.

zapdoodat
Actually, Saddam's rise to power was at the hands of over-throwing Communist Iraq backed by the USSR.

If the UN, Chamberlain, and FDR had acted as Bush did Hitler may never had gotten past Poland.

Saddam admired Hitler, as well as Stalin. There is little difference between the two (or the three)

BTW - Iraq oil reserves constitute 9% of the world's reserves at 115 billion barrels.

As for addicted to middle eastern oil - read "Gusher of Lies" by Robert Bryce. He offers a good perspective on "Energy Independence".

zapdoodat
you know nothing about me. steriotyping makes you come across as unintelligent. and you are not making much sense either.

BTW
resorting to name calling is a tactic of the left. try to avoid it at all costs.

Skeptical
Mr Carey's views are interesting points but I wonder if it isn't just wishful thinking that Coleman will regain his Senate seat? During the election, the GOP bloggers were highly hopeful of McCain's victory; but in the end, it was all for naught. I'm a skeptic about euphemistic predictions these days.

The war between the left and the right.
Why get excited even if Coleman wins. The fact that so much of America voted for the pro-infanticide/envy the rich candidate, while they knew nothing about him except real serious unanswered questions about his slimey associates all his life, shows that democracy is done for because the masses not only can be led into voting for a Photoshopped candidate, but in fact, want to be lied to and told that the real world is just like American Idol and an faux image in place of a leader is Nirvana.

Expect nothing
and you won't be disappointed. The Democrats always seem to find a way to win these contests. However, the fact that Franken has not yet been seated may mean that there is some substance to this article.

Put your money where your mouth is
If you really believe this nonsense Ron, then go immediately to http://www.intrade.com/jsp/intrade/contractSearch/#
and buy a contract on Coleman winning. For only 8 thousand bucks, you will get back 100 thousand if your boy Norm wins.
Cmon Ron - put your money where your mouth is.Or are you afraid to walk it like you talk it?

I don't know who will win ...
I don't know who will win when this whole thing gets through. BUT ...

I do believe that in any recount, it should be of EVERY part of the state, not just selected precincts. And I believe it should be of all true votes - not those of dead people or those "found" in cars, etc. AFTER the election. The ONLY votes that should be "found" after an election should be absentee ballots that weren't counted. Those cast at a voting place should be the only other votes counted. If someone stuck some ballots in his car, prior to the election, he should go to jail for having them in the first place.

A recount is not a true recount if only part of the votes are counted. And if the dead are voting (as they seem to do in all parts of the country) they should be eliminated as they are found, not counted to give one or the other a victory.

ZappyDipWad!!
Hitler wanted the ME-262 to be built as a BOMBER not a fighter!! This was insanity. They could have fielded an effective force of jets almost TWO year earlier had he not micromanaged the war like LBJ did in 'Nam.

The rockets WERE scary but utterly inaccurate. To have any effect they'd have had to start falling in 1941 right after the Battle of Britain which was won with superior ALLIED tech called radar.

The original war plan was to wait for 1944 or 1945 to attack Poland. The Kriegsmarine (navy) wanted to have a LOT of screening ships like our Fletcher class destroyers to shield the powerful but outnumbered and too vulnerable Tirpitz, Gneisenau and Bismark.

With 4 destroyers optimized for AAW (anti-aircraft) operations the Swordfish would never have nailed the Bismark's rudder which was a miraculous shot anyway.

By 1945 the Type VII subs would have been replaced in construction with Type XXII models which had a greater range, snorkel and better torpedoes.

Good think der scheisskopf couldn't hold his wad for 5 or 6 years!!!!

You couldn't find ANYONE better than these two twonks to run? And now there's a big mess about which twonk won?

Sorry, but I'm glad I don't live there. I live in the merry old state of LA, where we buy our politicians outright. At least we know they stand for something.

Franken is not fit to represent us
I can't believe Franken even got enough votes by Minnesotans to have to have a recount. Who wants a pornography writing, foul mouthed, arrogant person like Franken represent us? What a poor example for the youth of this state.

I believe Coleman did win the election -- it is only after the maneuvering of the Franken people that votes suddenly began appearing and disappearing- only to benefit Franken.

Thanks for the article. It is reassuring that maybe a legitimate count can take place.

This is just another example of the IQ of voters. Al Franken is supose to be a comedian! He tried to be a talk radio show host, failed at that also. So than he decided to be a Congressman. What a joke he has an IQ just above zero. He can't write a sentence with out a foul word. I tried to read one of his books,I made it though about 3 pages. It was so foul I took it back to the library and told them I coultn't believe they spent money on such trash.
