After Robert Mueller gave Democrats the soundbite they wanted, 2020 presidential candidate Kamala Harris was quick to share it on social media--even after Mueller retracted the statement.

When Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) asked the former FBI director to confirm that he did not indict President Trump because of an Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) opinion that states he cannot charge a sitting president, Mueller said that was correct.

But at the beginning of his testimony for the House Intelligence Committee later that afternoon, Mueller retracted his statement and clarified what he meant.

Now, before we go to questions, I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu who said, and I quote, “You didn’t charge the president because of the OLC opinion.” That is not the correct way to say it. As we say in the report, and as I said at the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime. (Slate)

But Harris turned a blind eye to Mueller's retraction and published the statement to her 1.9 million followers on Instagram. She has since deleted the post.

This episode proves that Democrats are only interested in statements made by Mueller that support their narrative. Unfortunately for Harris, this hearing backfired for Democrats. Impeachment is over. If the House's failed vote on impeachment wasn't the final nail in the coffin, then this hearing was.
