The DNC Is Broke As A Joke And It Ain't Funny

Well, the headline is somewhat misleading. It is a little bit funny how badly the Democratic National Committee is in its fundraising efforts. In June, the party spent nearly as much as it raked in, got taken to the woodshed by the Republican National Committee in terms of revenue, and, unfortunately for the leftists of America, is still in major debt. 

Politico reported on Saturday that the DNC "raised $8.5 million in June, the month of the party's presidential debates in Miami — less than half of the $20.7 million." They spent $7.5 million. Much of this was due to the Miami debates in late June.

The DNC spent heavily on major events during the month of the debates: The committee reported spending $221,000 on catering, $106,000 on "event production & site rentals," $61,000 on "event decorations," $50,000 on "event consulting" and $19,000 on security. The filing did not specify which expenses were related to the debates in late June.

Likewise, this spending does not even take into consideration any of the debt that the party has. The DNC is at least $5.7 million in debt. "The RNC and President Trump’s campaign had a combined $100 million in the bank," Vice News reports. 

Even Adam Parkhomenko, a former Hillary Clinton campaign staffer who also served as the DNC’s national field director in 2016, is trashing the DNC. 

"They need to get their sh*t together. Now," he told Vice News. "When Hillary became the nominee in 2016 she was handed nothing, the DNC was nothing and there was nothing to build on...You’d think we would have spent the last few years making sure this would never happen again, and it has."
