A massive red wave is hitting and sweeping through the nation as Americans are starting to see through the cracks of the Democratic Party.

Republican voters now outnumber the amount of Democrats in Florida, turning the state from “purple” to “deep red.”

According to a report from the state Division of Elections, there are nearly one million more Republicans than there are Democrats in Florida. As of August, there were 5.3 million Republicans and 4.3 million Democrats in the Sunshine State between the 13.5 million Floridians registered to vote.

In comparison, Democrats outnumbered Republicans by a count of 4.8 million to 4.5 million.

The Daily Mail reported that the state’s party affiliation changed in 2022 after Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis (FL) won his reelection. The outlet also noted that former President Donald Trump’s move to Florida at the end of his first term in 2021 also boosted the number of Republican voters in the state.

Florida used to be primarily a Democrat state, with residents voting blue in 2008 and 2012. In 2016, twice-failed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton won Miami by 23 points, and President Joe Biden secured the state by seven points in 2020. However, the state saw a massive influx of residents who fled blue states for Republican-led ones in recent years due to its freedoms, lower cost of living, and having no income taxes.

The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) declared DeSantis’ turf to be “solid red” as enthusiasm for the party heats up.

“Republican red wave in 2022,” the RPOF said in a statement. “Floridians reject the progressive policies Biden Democrats advocate.”

A recent Emerson College survey found that most voters are more motivated to vote in the 2024 election than in past years. A FiveThirtyEight poll found that Trump leads Harris anywhere from six to ten points.
