Florida Gov. and 2024 GOP hopeful Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) hinted at potentially kicking President Joe Biden off of his state's ballot.

In the wake of Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows’ decision to remove former President Donald Trump from the state’s primary ballot, DeSantis said that Florida could do the same to Biden for his ongoing mishandling of the southern border.

He told FNC’s “Your World” that he believes the US Supreme Court will reverse Bellow’s politically motivated decision, similar to Colorado.

Well, obviously, to have one executive branch official unilaterally striking someone off the ballot is not an appropriate interpretation of the 14th Amendment,” he said. “We could have — in Florida, what, are we going to have Biden struck off the ballot because he’s allowed an invasion of 8 million people, including enemy nations have sent people in? This could just be — end up being a tit-for-tat. So I think it’ll get reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court. I think it’s more of a stunt that you have a very liberal person in that position who’s just trying to play for cheap clicks. But, ultimately, I don’t think it’s grounded in a proper interpretation of the Constitution.

Meanwhile, DeSantis floated the idea of pardoning Trump if he were convicted on the charges the radical left has targeted against him. He suggested that he would be against putting "an almost 80-year-old former president in prison" as it wouldn't be "good for the country."

After a campaign event, he told reporters that he had already decided he would protect Trump should he be elected president in 2024. Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley also said she would pardon the former president--  even if he were found guilty of a crime.

"A leader needs to find out what's in the best interest of the country," Haley said during an event on Thursday. "What's in the best interest of the country is not letting an 80-year-old man sitting in jail, that continues to divide the country. What's in the best interest of the country would be to pardon so that you can move on as a country and no longer talking about that."
