MSNBC Notes that Trump Rallies Are Way More Popular than Dems

President Trump keeps bringing in the crowds. MSNBC's Katy Tur was on site for Trump's' most recent rally at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa Thursday night, and she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Just a few days out from the Iowa Caucus, and voters appear to be fired up about re-electing the president.

"We couldn't even get in it was so packed," Tur said. "The fire marshal shut it down. And that is in stark contrast to what we're seeing from the Democrats so far in Iowa."

It was a similar scene in New Jersey at a rally earlier this week, as Katie reported. Some people camped out for nearly 30 hours to see him. And quite a few of them were Democrats.

What's even more remarkable is that voters keep showing up in droves for the president despite his ongoing Senate impeachment trial. According to recent polling, his approval is higher than ever. Worst of all for Democrats, they don't appear to have the votes they need to prolong the trial, especially after Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) announced she's a "no" on witnesses. The Senate is ready to acquit.

The Iowa Caucus, the first presidential test, takes place on Monday, Feb. 3.
