He’s back. Former President Barack Obama is back on the trail stumping for Democrats Monday in Nevada, where Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen is challenging Republican Sen. Dean Heller. It’s a tight race, but Heller appears to be treading just fine heading into the final days of the 2018 cycle—and he could very well survive in this competitive race. Yet, you’d think that it was a presidential election with Obama on the ticket given the former president’s remarks. It was a return to the ‘thank God for me’ Obama. In typical fashion, the reason why Obama’s economic recovery was so crappy was because of Bush, but President Trump’s solid economic agenda was due to him. Yeah, right—because Obama would have been behind the Trump tax cuts that provided the job creating and investment climate we see today, the decades high marks in consumer and small business confidence, the four percent second-quarter growth, and over three million jobs? No—he wouldn’t. In 38 minutes, Obama referred to himself 92 times.
Via CBS News:
Former President Barack Obama headlined a rally in Las Vegas with Jacky Rosen, the Democratic candidate for Senate, and other Nevada Democrats. He told the roaring crowd to "remember who started" the current trend of economic growth and "the longest streak of job creation on record."
He was met with loud cheers at the arena at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
"I miss you, too," he told the roaring crowd.
Obama called upon Democrats to "restore some sanity to our politics," warning darkly of demagogues who "promise to fight for the little guy" and then "start undermining institutions essential to our democracy."
"There are states where Republicans are actively purging voter rolls right now," Obama told the crowd. This kind of politics is not conservative, he said. "It's radical."
Republicans, he said, handed out $1.5 trillion in tax cuts "for folks who are already sitting pretty." They "don't even try to pay for it," Obama said.
This is the dumbest statement in the history of both politics and economics.

Remember when @realDonaldTrump said he would hit 4% GDP growth and you said “There’s no magic want for that”?
Well ABRACADABRA @barackobama, we are at 4.2%. You just needed a leader to get it done! https://t.co/y1gmDAW47s
It was actually a working and middle-class tax cut, Barry. Even CNN (and Bernie Sanders) pointed that out in December of 2017, and it’s going to remain that way for the next eight years unless the GOP makes these cuts permanent—and they should. How much does it suck, big guy?
.@jaketapper: “Next year, 91% of middle income Americans will receive a tax cut. Isn’t that a good thing?”@BernieSanders: “Yeah, it is a very good thing. And that’s why we should’ve made the tax cuts for the middle class permanent” #CNNSOTU https://t.co/ei8xTHGo1E

Oh, and what was this about (via HuffPo):
Unlike some, I actually try to state facts,” he continued, in an obvious reference to Trump’s regular touting of conspiracy theories and telling of barefaced lies.
“I believe in facts, alright?” Obama added. “I believe in a fact-based reality and a fact-based politics. I don’t believe in just making stuff up. I think actually you should say to people what’s true.”
"Former President lies to cover his dismal record and stoke fears ahead of election" - Accurate @CNN chyron you'll never see. @ChrisStigall https://t.co/dS7SKDJqXd

So, what was ‘if you like your plan you can keep it?’ The reality of that promise was a lie, Barry. You spied on Fox News' James Rosen. You seized the phone records of Associated Press reporters; the IRS seemingly was weaponized to target conservative non-profits, you said al-Qaeda was on the run, only to have them execute a coordinated terror attack in Benghazi in 2012. You called ISIS the JV team, and your administration said Yemen was a blueprint for future counterterror operations before the government collapsed and the nation fell into a state of civil war. Oh, and let’s not forget the awesome calculation of releasing five terrorists for deserter Bowe Bergdahl. Your foreign policy was predictable. It sucked. Your domestic agenda was not much better. That’s your reality. You helped pave the way for Trump in some regards, not just because he’s everything that you’re not on policy, it’s also because while the president may stretch the truth, you sir—did quite a bit yourself.
