CNN ran an absurd story Saturday afternoon, seemingly praising the sister of one the world’s most evil dictators for “stealing the show” at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
The piece starts off, saying, “If 'diplomatic dance' were an event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un's younger sister would be favored to win gold.”
Hailing Kim Yo Jong as North Korea’s “answer” to Ivanka Trump, CNN claims that “with a smile, a handshake and a warm message in South Korea's presidential guest book, Kim Yo Jong has struck a chord with the public just one day into the PyeongChang Games.”

As the Daily Caller's Benny Johnson pointed out, the article even attempts to justify her inclusion at the Olympic games as proof that the brutal regime was somehow a progressive nation.
Babilina Hwang, a visiting professor at Georgetown, told CNN that "Kim Yo Jong is the perfect counterpart to (Ivanka Trump). And it also is a signal that North Korea is not this crazy, weird former Cold War state -- but it too has young women that are capable and are the future leadership." (emphasis added)

Will media’s Communist hagiography from NYT celebration of 1917 revolutions to love fest over member of a family responsible for running a gulag state of misery, starvation and executions ever end? Or is it just a politically useful part of “resistance?” https://t.co/HeESslc3wq

This normalization of North Korea is truly sickening. While Kim Jong Un’s sister and their cheerleaders are enjoying themselves in South Korea, many North Koreans are starving to death and being tortured in work camps. pic.twitter.com/x3y1gf7KxK

Here, CNN pushes the idea that Kim Jong UN’s sister is the geopolitical equivalent to Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, & that her inclusion in the murderous dictators cabinet makes it more progressive. pic.twitter.com/YKhgBWIGeI

Kim Yo Jong was "promoted" in 2014 to "deputy director of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Workers' Party." Perhaps even weirder about this story is that three days earlier CNN noted that Kim Yo Jong is always "thinking that at any given time, if she is to make one mistake, her brother could have her killed."
