Vehicle Plows Through Pedestrians In Times Square; At Least 10 Injured UPDATE: Driver in Custody

UPDATE (12:17 p.m.): One person has died.

UPDATE (12:22 p.m.): The number injured has jumped to 13. Officials say this may be an accident.

UPDATE (12:23 p.m.): The driver is in custody after fleeing the scene.

UPDATE (12:27 p.m.): This is reportedly a picture of the driver being arrested.

UPDATE (12:31 p.m.): Gov. Cuomo is en route to the scene. NYPD is now saying the driver was intoxicated and that this is likely not terrorism.

UPDATE (5:53 p.m.): The suspect, Richard Rojas, was in fact not drunk, but instead was looking for a suicide-by-cop. He may have been on drugs.

At least 10 people are injured after a car drove through a group of pedestrians in Times Square in New York City on Thursday afternoon. The car was reportedly speeding before it jumped a sidewalk and crashed.

People on the scene were tweeting photos of the area, including pictures of injured people.

Reuters is reporting that at least 10 people were injured.

It is unknown whether this was either a tragic accident or an attack similar to the Ohio State, Christmas Market or Bastille Day incidents.
