Some would call it sweet revenge. Governor Pat McCrory would just call it being nice. When pro-choice activists were loudly chanting outside of his home to protest his recent signing of pro-life legislation, the Governor of North Carolina had an interesting response -- he delivered them a plate of cookies.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the activists found the cookies sexist and offensive, returning the governor’s kind gesture with a note that read, "Will take women's health over cookies!" and a clever chant, "Hey Pat, that was rude. You wouldn't give cookies to a dude."
In addition, Planned Parenthood Action Fund of NC posted this statement on their Facebook page:
“Governor McCrory came out of his mansion...to give us cookies. Hey Pat, we want women's healthcare, not cookies! We will remember this condescending move!”
One commenter agreed and went further to suggest,
“Perhaps he's trying to remind you what you ‘should’ be doing with your time. Stop all this pesky protesting, ladies, and get back to the kitchen.”
These kinds of responses are true to form for pro-choice feminists, who often can’t look past their self-righteousness when demanding politicians get their “laws off their bodies” and give them freedom to continue aborting unborn children. What more can we expect from a constituency known for such mature behavior as making children hold offensive signs that read, “If I wanted the government in my womb, I would **** a Senator, throwing tampons and bricks at pro-life legislators and, my favorite, chanting “Hail Satan.”

But, I can see why they think chocolate chip cookies are offensive.
Although they didn’t eat the governor’s desserts, the sinful sweets apparently affected them, because they ended their protest eight hours early. Guess they decided their place was at home after all.
