Townhall has covered how several polls have shown that inflation and the economy continue to be top issues for voters since President Joe Biden took office. And now, ahead of the 2024 election, more Americans are they saying that they believe former President Donald Trump, who is running for reelection in 2024, is better suited to fix the economy than Biden.
According to a poll from Suffolk University Sawyer Business School and USA TODAY, most Americans say they trust former President Donald Trump over President Joe Biden to fix the economy in coming years by a 47 percent - 36 percent margin.
Additionally, only 34 percent of Americans said that they approve of Biden’s handling of the economy. On the other hand, 59 percent disapprove. Eighty-four percent of Americans surveyed said that their cost of living is rising and that food and groceries are a top concern.
Nearly 70 percent of respondents said that they feel the economy is getting worse. Twenty-two percent said they think it's improving. Eight percent said they were undecided. The poll surveyed 1,000 U.S. residents between Sept. 6-11. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

Javier Torres, 65, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, participated in the poll. He told USA TODAY that he is unsure he will vote for Biden in 2024 like he did in 2020.
"It's been pretty bad, and I was a supporter of Biden, so I don't know what's going on," Torres said. "Maybe it's not all his fault − or it is? I don't know. But something's got to give."
Last week, a separate survey from CNN found that 58 percent of American adults believe Biden’s policies have worsened economic conditions in the country.
