How Dare You, Keith Olbermann?

Last night, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann named former Pres. Bill Clinton advisor Dick Morris as his "Worst Person in the World" because of comments Morris made in an interview on Fox News. Morris, speaking about the ongoing town hall meetings and the potential influence of the moderate Blue Dog Democrats could have in swaying the vote for Obama's health care overhaul, said:

If [the Blue Dogs] are not terrorized during August by the public outpouring, and they don't have thousands and thousands of handwritten letters on their doorstep waiting for them when they return from the August recess, they'll fold.

What's wrong with that? Morris was simply making the point that constituents really need to be vocal in their opposition if they are to be successful in stopping ObamaCare.

Apparently MSNBC interpreted this in a vastly different way than I did. Olbermann criticized "Worst Person" Morris for using the word "terrorize," claiming Morris was calling for a "terror attack by Bin Laden in this country, as if it would be good for this country, or [using] the actual term terrorism as if it should be directed toward any American, ever." Olbermann went on to complain that no one at Fox News Channel had been "fired, nobody's been suspended, and nobody's been reprimanded, nobody's been made to retract or correct the comments, on the air or off."

Hm. I wonder if Olbermann will name his own MSNBC colleague Lawrence O'Donnell as the next world's "worst" for claiming the grassroots protests have "hijacked the health care debate." By Olbermann's logic, O'Donnell would deserve the top spot on that list for calling the town hall protests "political terrorism."

In my best grizzly and over-dramatic Keith Olbermann impression voice, I say "HOW DARE YOU, KEITH OLBERMANN!?? How dare youuuuuu!?"
