Sorry, Liberal Media, Kim Jong Un Is Still Not Dead

Pyongyang Press Corps Pool via AP

Ever since the liberal media whiffed on the Kim Jong-un is dead or dying story last week, there’s been a microscope over the secretive nation. What the hell happened? Kim supposedly underwent some sort of procedure on April 12 and according to CNN, led to severe complications. NBC News’ Katy Tur even went so far as to declare the North Korean dictator “brain dead.” This was confirmed by two officials, who we don’t know since she deleted the tweet. And now, these folks just want to get on with their lives as if nothing happened. As you already know, there is zero accountability with these clowns.

So, once again, over the weekend, there were reports that Kim Jong-un was brain dead (via NY Post):

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is in a “vegetative state” after he underwent heart surgery earlier this month, a Japanese magazine says.

The weekly Shukan Gendai reported Friday that a Chinese medic sent to North Korea as part of a team to treat Kim believed a delay in a simple procedure left the leader severely ill, Reuters reported.

North Korean media hasn’t mentioned Kim’s health or whereabouts, even though reports by other media have sparked international speculation about his well-being.

The Chinese expert told the magazine that Kim clutched his chest and fell to the ground on a visit to the countryside earlier this month. A doctor accompanying Kim performed CPR and took him to a nearby hospital.

Kim, believed to be 36, needed a stent procedure, which calls for placing a tube into a congested blood vessel to allow blood to keep flowing to the heart, according to Shukan Gendai.

The hashtag #KimJongUndead was trending on Twitter but without any proof of the leader’s death.

Yeah, wrong again, folks. But that didn’t stop the talk about the line of succession, or liberal lamenting how North Korea will get a female leader, albeit one who is reportedly psychopathic, before the US. The US will have a female president in due time, but it’ll be a Republican, not a Democrat, but back to not dead Kim. South Korean intelligence says there’s enough evidence to conclude that Mr. Kim is still alive (via Associated Press):

South Korea’s government has dismissed rumors that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is in fragile condition, as speculation about his health intensifies amid the North’s silence on his whereabouts.

There are concerns, particularly in Seoul and Washington, about what would happen to North Korea and its nuclear program if anything actually happened to Kim. For South Korea and the U.S., Kim’s absence would mean the departure of a man they’ve dealt with over the past two years to try to achieve North Korea’s denuclearization, though talks have stalled in recent months.

Unification Minister Kim Yeon-chul told a closed-door forum in Seoul that South Korea has “enough intelligence to confidently say that there are no unusual developments” in rival North Korea that would back up speculation about Kim’s health, his ministry said Monday.

He might be near a coastal resort (via WaPo):

Indications that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is still alive and in the coastal resort of Wonsan are mounting, as satellite images showed his train apparently traveled there in the past few days, and U.S. and South Korean officials said they did not believe he had died.

Rumors of Kim’s possible demise have been swirling since he skipped celebrations for his grandfather’s birthday on April 15 and after a South Korea media report said he had undergone a cardiovascular procedure on April 12 in a hospital outside Pyongyang and was recuperating in a nearby villa.

But U.S. and South Korean intelligence services remain skeptical of reports that Kim is dead or gravely ill, according to three government officials familiar with the matter.

“We understand that Chairman Kim Jong Un has been in Wonsan this week,” said a South Korean official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence matters.

Columnist and pundit Gordon Chang threw another theory into the mix. While not dismissing the ‘Kim is alive’ aspect, he is skeptical of the “well” part of the equation, suggesting that perhaps the dictator was injured during a missile test

Let’s just wait until the jury is out.
