Shut It Down: James Carville Says Democrats Should End Primaries After Biden's Demolishing of Bernie

Well, given Sen. Bernie Sanders abysmal showing tonight, should the Democratic primaries be shut down? That’s what top Democrat Rep. James Clyburn (D-Sc) has suggested, along with ragin’ Cajun James Carville.

The longtime Democratic strategist and architect of Bill Clinton’s successful 1992 campaign invoked Guy Fawkes concerning Joe Biden’s resounding wins in tonight’s primaries.

“Remember, remember this is all about November,” he said on MSNBC.

Carville put it bluntly: this whole contest is over. It should be shut down. Given the margins that Biden is securing in these contests, and the swath of voters turning out for him, Carville said the intention is clear: shut it down, unite, and defeat Donald Trump. He noted that Sanders might not even meet the 15 percent threshold in Mississippi. And with the contests from here on out being favored towards Biden anyway, it only adds to this consensus that the primary is finished without Biden obtaining the majority of the delegates

“Let’s shut this puppy down,” Carville says. I’m not so sure the Bernie camp will oblige. We’ll see.

Carville was terrified at the prospect of a left-wing candidate becoming the nominee, Sanders especially because the Vermont leftist is not a Democrat. He also laid onto Liz Warren's student debt forgiveness and free college nonsense as an election loser, citing the Massachusetts senator's tense confrontation with a father who angrily protested that he was going to be left out from this proposal, despite doing all the right things when it comes to parents saving for their children's higher educations.

"Democrats talking about free college tuition or debt forgiveness. I’m not here to debate the idea. What I can tell you is that people all over this country worked their way through school, sent their kids to school, paid off student loans. They don’t want to hear this sh*t," he said in an interview with Vox back in February.

Well, looks like Carville can rest east; the Sanderista insurgency is pretty much dead.
