Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is doing her job, which is to push the progressive open borders agenda to the max. She recently visited a border detention facility, where she made the outrageous claim that people were drinking from toilets and that the Border Patrol agents were acting in a threatening manner, whatever the hell that means. No one has really pressed her on this, especially the former claim. And there are no witnesses. The Border Patrol has denied these ludicrous allegations. Hispanic pastors also toured such facilities and found that AOC and the Democrats appear to be peddling some mammoth lies about the conditions. Granted, it’s probably not Disneyland in there, but it’s nowhere near the tall tales we’ve been hearing from the Left. For Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), he finds that his colleague’s lies are getting bolder and have the pernicious intent of purposefully misleading the American people (via Washington Examiner):
Dan Crenshaw claimed that fellow freshman lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is increasingly brazen in misleading the American public on immigration issues.
“She’s getting bolder with her lies,” Crenshaw said in a Tuesday interview with Martha MacCallum. “People like AOC are operating off of a false premise. It’s deliberately designed to misinform the American people.”

Crenshaw, a Texas Republican who has repeatedly called for more congressional funding to help alleviate the crisis at the southern border, cast doubt on the suggestion that Democrats are actually interested in fixing the problem.
“There is not anybody else corroborating these kind of reports,” he said. “She’s using it to try and make her case that we shouldn’t have any enforcement and we should have open borders. This is really dishonest behavior from a member of Congress.”
Oh yes, we all remember when CNN and company thought that this wasn’t a real crisis. Oh, and yes, there are terrorism-related concerns to this surge in migrants at the border. Yeah, ISIS operatives were captured by Nicaraguan police recently, who were most likely not in the region for the beaches and relaxation. But now that these detention facilities are maxed out, it can be used as political ammunition against Trump, so they think. It’s now all of a sudden a crisis, but the Democrats can’t do anything about it because they don’t want to. The left-wing base would tar and feather any Democrat that is seen working with this White House and the far left contingent on the Hill views funding Department of Homeland Security a betrayal of their campaign promise because Immigration and Customs Enforcement is part of the DHS. The agency has been warning for weeks that they were running out of money to deal with the crisis, with border apprehensions reaching 100,000+ a month. Still, Democrats did nothing. Crenshaw is right, and anyone can see this from 1,000 miles away, they don’t want to do anything. They want all of these illegals released, they want them to be counted in the census to increase their clout on the Hill, they eventually want to legalize them, put them on a path to citizenship, and register them as Democrats. They want open borders. They want to abolish ICE and other immigration enforcement agencies. It’s madness. It’s one long exasperating tantrum. Case in point, even AOC voted against the trash House bill aimed at dealing with this crisis, forking over $4.6 billion with strings attached so DHS couldn’t enforce immigration enforcement. Thankfully, a bipartisan Senate bill passed and that was signed into law. It included none of the far left’s provisions to hamstring our federal law enforcement agencies. She’s just staging some very good AstroTurf.
