Totally Nuts: Green New Deal Supporter Says Climate Change Is Like '25 Holocausts'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is pushing the Green New Deal. It’s crap on a plate. It seeks to ban the internal combustion engine, kill farting cows, and upgrade all buildings to energy efficient standards. Why do we need to do this? Well, liberals are obsessed with so-called global warming and socialism—and this agenda blends the two in a rather toxic cocktail. Oh, and we’re all going to die in 12 years if we don’t do this. Yeah, they love to peddle the doomsday clock, but it still isn’t enough to distract us from the astronomical price tag of this agenda. It’s bound to soar into the trillion with minimal impact on global temperatures. It’s the same old show, folks. They said in the 1970s that the world was cooling and that re-glaciation would occur. It didn’t. In 2007, they said the Arctic Ice Cap was supposed to be gone by 2013. It’s still there.

Now, they’re trying to morph this into a health care issue. One of the chief architects of the Green New Deal said that global warming has the potential to produce “25 holocausts.” Caleb Howe has more (via Mediaite):

“How do you make the argument [climate change] needs a separate discussion?” he asked. “Why not health care?”

“So in the issues that you just brought up, climate change is one of the main drivers of our public health. So the difference between, say, 1.5 degrees of warming — which is the least that folks think that we can get — to 2, you are talking about 150 million deaths,” said Gunn-Wright. “That’s 25 holocausts, right? So how is that not a health issue? How is that not about health care?”

“So even the issues that you outline, all of them are affected by climate change and how you decide to deal with climate is how you decide to deal with all these other issues,” she said.

“Let’s talk about cost,” said the MSNBC journalist, ignoring the Holocaust comparison for some reason. He said he’s “troubled” that people worry about how much it will cost to implement the Green New Deal but no “math on the other side” for what it will cost to not do the Green New Deal.

“Right. And I think that’s indicative of the ways that we have just absorbed the cost of not doing anything on climate change right now,” said Gunn-Wright. “So the cost of fossil fuels, of oil, the fuels that we use to power our cars are lower than they actually are because we don’t count the effect that they have on the environment, the effect that they have on public health, the fact that it’s causing people to get asthma and cancer and all of these other things.”

Okay, first of all, we are at our most industrialized and air quality has never been better. Second, never use the Holocaust as a sales pitch. Third, this goes double if you’re a Democrat since the party embraces and tolerates anti-Semites in their ranks. It’s public policy at its worst, but the 2020 field is kowtowing to it. Joe Biden recently unveiled his $5 trillion plan, which he plagiarized, but that’s a separate matter. The same people made the same projections years ago and we’re dead wrong. And now we have a new doomsday projection: 2050. That’s the year we all die. So, is it 12 years or 31 years? We’ll call bull on both—actually on everything the environmental Left has peddled.
