This Is What's Missing From That Now-Fired Texas Teacher Who Tweeted Trump About Illegal Immigration

Well, this was expected in today’s era of political correctness. That Texas teacher who pleaded with President Trump over Twitter to enforce immigration laws and remove the illegal aliens at her school has been fired. In tweets she thought were private, Georgia Clark tweeted at the president, hoping he could do anything that could remove the illegals from her school and the greater Fort Worth area. Of course, the liberals were triggered. Her job was on the line as of yesterday. Now, Ms. Clark has to find a new line of work (via NBC News):

A Texas school board voted that a teacher who tried to report undocumented students in her school district to Donald Trump through a series of public tweets — that she thought were private messages to the president — should be fired.

The Fort Worth Independent School District unanimously voted 8-0 to terminate the employment of Georgia Clark at a special meeting Tuesday. She still has an opportunity to appeal the vote with the state, NBC Dallas-Fort worth reports.

Clark, an English teacher at Carter-Riverside High School, tweeted that the school she worked at had been “taken over” by “illegal students from Mexico,” that Trump was elected “on the promise that a wall would be built to protect our borders” and tweeted multiple statements referencing "illegals."

Yet, here’s the thing that’s missing from all of this. This is exactly why Trump won. It’s why he was catapulted to the top of the GOP primary heap in 2016. He promised to do something about immigration, which has been an issue that no party has been willing to tackle in a meaningful way. The comprehensive deals that were hashed out under Obama and Bush weren’t at all in keeping with what the GOP base wanted. They wanted enforcement—and while a wall maybe not what everyone had in kind, it was something that geared towards those interests. It’s not just Republicans. I think it’s a safe bet that a healthy number of those who aren’t immigration hawks find catch and release an idiotic program. I think many would find shielding violent criminal aliens from ICE is a bad policy. And I think many would disagree with the concept of so-called sanctuary cities. Ms. Clark was voicing frustration that there were people who shouldn’t be here. You have to come here legally. Period. No debate. A nation has to protect its borders, and the U.S. has done a horrible job in past administrations.

We do have a crisis on our hands. For those on the border state, it’s been ongoing for two-plus decades now. Last month, 144,000 illegals were apprehended. The Department of Homeland Security is running out of money to handle this crisis—and the Left is willing to do nothing in order to cripple the Trump White House (via WaPo):

The Central American migration boom that has swamped U.S. authorities grew even larger in May, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection statistics released Wednesday that show more than 144,000 migrants were taken into custody, a 32 percent jump from April.

It was by far the largest one-month arrest total since President Trump took office, and it was the highest monthly figure in 13 years, CBP officials said Wednesday afternoon.

May was the third month in a row that border detentions topped 100,000, led by record-breaking levels of illegal crossings by Guatemalan and Honduran parents bringing children. CBP officials told reporters that agents and officers detained more than 100,000 family members and children, leaving holding cells “bursting at the seams.”

Of the 144,278 taken into CBP custody, 132,887 were apprehended after crossing illegally by Border Patrol agents, and 11,391 were deemed “inadmissible” after arriving at U.S. ports of entry.

Yet, the real unicorn in all of this is fixing our asylum laws, which Democrats are surely not going to touch.
