South Korean President: Trump Deserves 'Big Credit' For These Inter-Korean Talks

Hey, I thought this man was insane. I thought his tweets were going to push us to the brink of nuclear annihilation. Instead, the South Korean president gave President Trump credit for spurring the first inter-Korean talks in over two years. Cortney wrote about the meeting that sought to de-escalate the tension on the peninsula as the 2018 Winter Olympic Games draw closer. One of the things that was agreed upon was suspending South Korea-U.S. war games during the Olympics. Still, President Moon Jae-in says “big credit” is due for Trump, the man the Left thinks is totally insane because he beat the politically talentless Hillary Rodham Clinton in the 2016 election (via Reuters):

South Korean President Moon Jae-in credited U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday for helping to spark the first inter-Korean talks in more than two years, and warned that Pyongyang would face stronger sanctions if provocations continued.

North Korea ramped up its missile launches last year and also conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test, resulting in stronger international sanctions. Tuesday’s talks, the first since December 2015, were held to resolve problems, revive military consultations, and avert accidental conflict.

“I think President Trump deserves big credit for bringing about the inter-Korean talks,” Moon told reporters at his New Year’s news conference. “It could be a resulting work of the U.S.-led sanctions and pressure.”

So, we have a booming economy, with growth near four percent. Over a million workers received bonuses from their companies due to the GOP tax bill, more businesses have said they would dole out bonuses to their workers, while increasing U.S. investments and philanthropic giving. Consumer confidence is at a 17-year high. Now, we have a supposed mad man (if you’re a liberal), who was going to tweet his way into a nuclear war getting major credit from South Korea for getting North Korea to the negotiating table. File both under ‘Obama couldn’t have managed it.’
