'The View' -- McCain Has Terrific 'Must-Watch' Appearance

I was at the Family Research Council Meeting today, but John McCain was taking heat on The View.  This was a must-see appearance that I wish every American could see.  Watch the video.

The hosts went after McCain as hard as they could.  For example, they accused him of running TV ads with lies in them:

"We know these ads are lies," said Behar. "But you say 'I approve these messages.' Do you really approve them?"

"Actually, they are not lies," answered McCain before being interrupted by Barbara Walters, who pointed out that McCain too had used the lipstick phrase during the campaign.

Interestingly, the audience seemed to love McCain.  He came on state to a standing ovation.  When the hosts tried to imply McCain was going to go against "the separation of church and state," he did not back down from his faith, saying instead that he prays every day.  The audience (probably to the hosts' chagrin) applauded his remarks.

But, of course, the hosts political views had to come out.  For example, Joy said she thought that once John McCain were elected, he would go back to being the same old John McCain, "unless, of course, the Republican base has him by the short hairs..."

Watch the video.  I was thoroughly impressed with McCain's ability to fend-off these ladies essentially ganging-up on him, cutting him off, and accusing him of selling out -- all with kindness and a smile.

Give McCain credit for having the patience and kindness to endure this -- all with a smile.  But not only did McCain survive the interview, he actually came out of it looking great.  He handled every accusation by calmly refuting it with a common-sense answer that set the record straight.
