"Mudcat" Gets it Right & Obama Does "Fox News Sunday" ...

Two interesting Obama-related things to note this evening ...

First, wasn't it MKH who said the Dems would be better off if they followed the advice of rural Virginia Democratic operative "Mudcat" Saunders?  ... I think she was right.

Here's his quote about the whole "bitter-gate" scandal:

"I think it is absurd," Saunders said of "bitter-gate." "I think it is the prevailing wisdom of the Democratic Party. That's just a symptom of the problem. When Barack Obama was saying it, he wasn't saying that to get people all stirred up and stuff. When he was saying it and you would have asked him if there was something wrong with it, he would have bet you a million dollars to the penny that there wasn't anything wrong with it, because he believes it. I think there are an awful lot of smart people who believe in rural stereotypes. But the problem with the Democratic Party is that they don't understand...that a lot of these big city people who have stereotyped us, we have also stereotyped them. Therein lies the problem. See, that's what happened Barack Obama said that, he played into our stereotype about the big city."
That's straight from the mouth of a Democratic operative ...

I also wanted to call your attention to Howard Kurtz's comments regarding Obama's refusal to appear on "Fox News Sunday."

The clock will stop with the Illinois senator's appearance this Sunday.

"The 'Obama Watch' probably had some effect," Wallace says. "We made it clear he was ducking us." He says Obama's strategists "realized they need to reach working-class moderate and even conservative Democrats." An Obama spokesman said the clock was not a factor and that the senator welcomes the opportunity to appear on Sunday talk shows.

I'll be watching ...
