Might it be that the Messiah himself is susceptible to this sin?

Earlier today, I was thinking that cribbing from Deval Patrick's relatively high-profile and recent governor's race might have betrayed a bit of arrogance. After all, it wasn't as if the "just words" schtick came from an obscure 1984 House race and might easily be overlooked.

A 44-minute acceptance speech on a primary night betrays a bit more of it. If he keeps this up, maybe the Maverick can win by guaranteeing speeches that will actually fit within the hours traditionally known as "primetime."

There's at least a chance of the junior senator from Illinois, no matter how inspirational, getting too big for his britches.
