Actress Reportedly Fired for ‘Being Jewish,’ Showing Support for Israel

Oded Balilty

Since Hamas launched its attack on Israel, Townhall has reported how some employers have fired and rescinded job offers for employees who express anti-Semitic views. However, this week, a longtime voice-over actress claimed that she was fired from her job over social media for standing with the people of Israel.

This week, cartoon voice actress Tara Strong, 50, revealed that she was fired from her job for “being Jewish” and expressing support for Israel during its ongoing conflict with Hamas.

According to the New York Post, Strong found out on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she was fired from her role in the independent animated series “Boxtown” after she published the posts. Previously, Strong voiced characters on shows like “The PowerPuff Girls,” “Rugrats,” and “The Fairly Odd Parents.”

The official “Boxtown” account shared a post on X claiming that Strong’s role would be recast.

“Thanks for y’all’s understanding as we re-orient and figure out the next steps,” they said.

“This is what happens when you help fans get shows made I guess,” Strong replied. “Fired for being Jewish….pray for my family in Israel and Gaza.”

Shortly after, the show posted that it “was not a difficult decision” to fire Strong due to her “recent online activity.”

“This decision was due to a trend among Tara’s recent online activity, including posts that promote controversial messages regarding the peoples of Palestine currently being affected by the ongoing Israel-Palestine crisis,” they wrote. “We believe that our public platform gives us a duty to be careful when it comes to hateful messages and misinformation online.”

Previously, Strong had indicated that she felt “overwhelmed with sadness” over the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
