This Detail From the Case of the Illegal Immigrant Seen Carrying Sex Trafficking Victim Is Enraging

You’ve probably seen the footage by now of an illegal immigrant carrying a sex trafficking victim he allegedly held hostage after she tried to escape. It’s horrifying, and the man arrested—Jose Carcamo of Honduras—is likely only one piece of a larger sex trafficking ring puzzle that federal officials will hopefully track down. The victim was allegedly held for five days without food or water as she suffered physical abuse and rape. Police responded after receiving a 911 call from her, crying for help. She was also seen by witnesses in the area before the suspect snatched her and locked her in a closet, which is where police found her.

But there’s another detail that came out about this story that makes it even worse.

Carcamo, who came into the U.S. illegally in November 2020, had his deportation case “terminated” under the Biden administration.

The Department of Homeland Security said the case was officially canceled on Sept. 8, 2023, by an immigration judge.

“This accused kidnapper and suspected sex trafficker was just one of the countless criminal illegal aliens who inexplicably had their removal proceedings terminated by the Biden administration and were allowed to remain in the country," Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

“Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, criminal illegal aliens are being locked up and will no longer be allowed to terrorize American communities. Our message is clear: criminals are not welcome in the United States,” she added.
