A recent New York Times/Siena survey of a hypothetical rematch showed former President Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden in a dead heat. The Times' analysis warned its readers that the race, assuming both men are their party’s presidential nominee, is “extremely close” and that “anybody who assumes that the 2024 outcome is sure to repeat the 2020 outcome — even in a rematch campaign — is making a mistake.”
Now liberals have even more disheartening news — this time coming from CNN.
Taking a look at three polls that came out in the last week from CBS News, Quinnipiac University, and Fox News, senior data reporter Harry Enten pointed out how much Trump is dominating his rivals. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis isn’t even cracking 20 percent, while support for the 45th president ranges between 53 and 62 percent in the surveys reviewed.
“Of course the primary is one thing — if Trump wins the primary, can he go on and win the general election?" Enten asked as an introduction to the next set of numbers.
On the screen, viewers see Biden ahead of Trump 44-41 percent in a Fox News survey, 47-46 percent in the Quinnipiac one, and 47-46 in a Marist poll.

"I want you to look at how close this race is at this particular point, granted the general election is over a year away. The largest lead for Joe Biden is just 3 points, within the margin of error. No clear leader,” he emphasized.
"If you go back at where we were at this point four years ago, Joe Biden’s lead was high single digits to low double digits, this is significantly closer than where we were four years ago, so this idea that Donald Trump can’t win the general election, I want you to lose that idea, this race is very, very close and Donald Trump is polling better right now than basically at any point during the entire 2020 cycle."
JUST IN: CNN warns viewers that Donald Trump has a real chance of winning the *general* election against President Joe Biden.

Trump's positive poll numbers come after being indicted four times over the last five months, a point one analyst called "fascinating."
