'Unplanned' Movie Highlights All the 'Twitter Shenanigans' It Faced During Opening Weekend

Not only did advertising for “Unplanned,” the newly released film about Abby Johnson, the former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life activist, get shut out by most mainstream cable networks and hit with an R rating by the MPAA, it also faced censorship on Twitter during the film’s opening weekend.

The account was completely frozen for a few hours on Saturday before Twitter decided to remove tens of thousands of its followers. 

Many users also commented that likes “vanished” so that it wouldn’t trend.

As of Monday morning, the film’s account reported that things looked like they were back to normal.
